I have combined Trap monsters with Subterror with great success. Guru flipps down the new Apophis or Jirai Gumo for an additional on board omni negate or monster removal each turn and can search another omni negate for 3 turns in a row. This version does NOT play Azurune or the Tiki statues, it does however play Mimesis Elephantis together with Gozen Match. Mimesis turns Gozen Match into a game ender even against decks which usually only play one Attribute. Given the decks lack of special summons in the first turn and lack of extra deck reliance it can play Pot of Dualit and Pot of Prosperity. If you want to increase the consistency even more you can play Wannabee as well. Given that all Monsters have a different type it's possible to run TCBOO in the main or side.

Cant wait to see where he puts cyberdarks this year. Last time there where multiple corrections due to the structure deck release and jt getting tops all over the place at the lower end of competitive.

I don’t know if you saw my comment on your worst deck in the game reel, but the amount of passion and dedication it takes for this kind of project is something amazing on its own. ngl after the master duel ally of justice solo mode im convinced they should be lower on the list they can barely do anything against worms which theyre made to counter

Penguin is mostly commonly paired with brave/yusha token, still underwhelming but at least a negate online and nopenguin in gy after discarded by fateful is something that penguin wants

I love this series so so much, just seeing how crazy the top tier decks are compared to the lowest tier stuff never gets old 😂

I don't know if we'll get another part of this series but we're all thankful for the work you put in

Omg that’s my genex list being posted! Thanks for showing it, dude! I agree with pretty much everything said in the section, in that generic payoff is really the only route to take, but it’s got cool things that it can do, and I love it for that. 3 birdman also makes the deck go kind of crazy, making any summoner monk into a lvl 10 via afd, if anyone wants to see if the deck has improved despite not getting support

my fav episode so far. probably because it includes 2 decks I play in Master Duel. PengWINs and Slifer Turbo (tho I use a Branded engine with it, I'm not a sociopath to enjoy playing Cardians)

You are a child of God for this work, please continue and finish it. Although I would add one critique, with the way ban lists change and formats between ocg, tcg and MD differ so much, I think it'd be useful to discuss more the "full power" deck lists. And by "full power" I don't mean if they had access to any and every card like PoG, but just the stuff in their archetype. An example would be to judge dragon rulers if they had all the DRs unbanned. Just a thought but you got a new subscriber from this series and I'll be here until the end

I really hope they go back and experiment further with some of these more weirder archetypal mechanics like what they did with the Ancient Guardians in Cyber Access

I do love your tier lists

My normal Pendulum deck used Heart of the Underdog to draw a BOATLOAD of cards during my drawphase, which worked phenomenally with the Slifer I had as my boss.

I normally run ad blockers, so i just wanted to show my appreciation for this series! ive kind of fallen out of modern yugioh meta chasing as the game just isnt for me anymore, so its great to see all the little fun archetypes that are jank or relics of a bygone era. I actually picked up a penguins core this week so thats gonna be my next pet deck!

I'm sorry this tier list is a lot of work, but I really love it. As a returning casual player people spend a lot of time talking about the metagame, which feels like it's buried behind fifty layers of complexity I don't understand at this point. I love seeing every archetype and deck in the entire game put together regardless of quality, none of it forgotten. I was going to suggest Shien as a possible addition- technically it has two cards that support it- but they don't even work without Six Samurai cards, so I don't think it counts as an independent deck.

Thank you once again for this monkeyfight. My only critique is that I think penguins should be in tier 3 especially when used in conjunction with the umi and icejade support. They are definitely playable on a casual level with that even if it is on the weaker end of it. Also as someone who has tinked with multiple different versions of toons, I think they are best played as a dedicated going second OTK deck which they can do better than one might think thanks to a lot of really good going second tools they have like toon black luster solider, toon rollback, lava golem, and comic hand. You can also main deck a lot of the standard going second tools in toons too like lightning storm, change of heart, raigeki, etc. I think they are more consistent too going 2nd cause of the 6th card they draw rather than going first. I'm also glad you mentioned that volcanics will be much better with the new support cause they will for sure and it's coming out in August I believe. I'd put them on the lower end of tier 5 personally from playing them a lot on edo pro.

3, 4, 5 and 6 are probably the best part of these tierlists :3

They announced new shinobirds including a field spell that summons any wind ritual from the deck! And ability to ritual summon on opponent’s turn by setting “stars align” from the deck!

Penguin is actually much stronger than you think bc your opponent will handshake you and surrender after he sees you triggering Penguin soldier's effect

The only way to fix the Egyptian Gods series is to give a Monster that can be Normal/Special Summoned right out of the gate just to be tributed for the Normal Summon of any of the DIVINE Monsters, and summoning that Monster allows you to tutor an Egyptian God card too. And also, have it search for spells and traps that work with the Egyptian Cards by banishing it from the GY. If that what it takes to make Ra, Obelisk, and Slifer even remotely playable, then it shows the issues of the series, to begin with. Also, errata Holactie to only be summoned by the cards whose original names are the three cards, as well as making her need to attack unblocked to win.

I don't care how long it takes, I want to see this series through to the end

Dude if you updated this and made a series of your tier list updates for every banlist, it would give so much weight and insight behind the tier list. Super awesome content, really would like to see this applied to master duel. Or at least 5-10 on there

Penguin for going 2nd isn't really bad because they have in-engine card to do that. Squire flip face-up your set Soldier is really helpful for go 2nd. I know this is vulnerable to any disruption. But as "not good deck" but have a tool for going 2nd, that is really good. . I am actually fan oof -Roid monsters since GX games. But I don't know but interested to how (if) Konami make new support for the -Roid without including Speedroid. You really need a crazy support for -Roid arctype. But if Speedroid can use it too, this will be broken maybe.

I'm glad you are doing this, but Luna Kaiju is way better than every other deck in tier 3. No way should she be that low.

It's complete cope, but I think The Revived Sky God has legs as an engine in a deck like Bystials where you can make Beatrice and then Knightmare Gryphon. It searches and bins the two cards needed, and Gryphon is a floodgate. The Bystials themselves also act as handtraps most of the time, so drawing six cards on the opponent's turn is really good.

I don't see Spirit of the Pharaoh. Clearly that means they must be top tier!

ngl I really like that hazy rescue-ace idea... and just like last year, I think penguins are better than a fair chunk of tier 3 decks on this list. I mean it's better than summoned skull, fortune fairies or legendary knights^^
