In this video I take my mother-in-law’s request to make her a quick and easy plant stand, throw that idea out the window, and over engineer it so I can have some fun experimenting with design.

The " Nothing Fancy " plant stand turned out really good 👍!!!. Now you and i and the others who will watch this video already knew that the " Nothing Fancy " was just code for if my mum doesn't love the finished design your getting socks for Christmas this year!!!. 💯% 👍🇬🇧.

My wife knows that I couldn’t bring myself to “just make something quick and easy” I don’t know why she even asked me that.

Looks great. I think I may have left the legs proud on the top instead of cutting them flush but I like proud joinery.

I went back and forth on that and almost did leave them proud. The only reason I decided to go flush was to give it a flat surface to set the plant on. That way if there was a planter with a larger tray it wouldn’t sit weird.

great way to score some brownie points seth,me i would have got a 2x4 and a piece of ply and a big ass nail,but then again i never like my mother in law lol....all the best scott

Haha! I guess it’s good that I like my in laws. I don’t think I could bring myself to make something out of a 2x4
