Andrew Lloyd Webber discusses what an honour it is to have been asked to write a Coronation Anthem for His Majesty King Charles III. The music composition by Lloyd Webber for the coronation of Charles 3 is nothing short of enchanting. The choir is ethereal and transports the audience to another realm. The brass section is simply magical, as it adds a grandeur and a powerful punch to the proceedings. The combination of both elements is a feast for the ears and leaves one feeling swept away. Lloyd Webber's music has truly set the perfect tone for this momentous occasion.

A huge thank you to Lloyd Webber and all the musicians for Make a Joyful Noise - the coronation music was wondrous. I too believe that the positive can outweigh the negative in the world these days. Definitely more than 1% positive was added I think.

I don't think we heard anything for the actual anthem. Tho there was a couple bits from "Phantom." At 5:46 there is more "Phantom"etc. But in the first 18 seconds of the clip there was something that might be from an anthem

@@1106gary There were just small snippets of the piece. The beginning of the video said so. When the orchestra was playing if you listen closely, you can hear just a few measures of what they were playing.

They tell you during the video that there is not a single note from the new anthem anywhere in this video. 4:50. The video begins with the famous anthem "Zadok the Priest," by George Frideric Handel. You'll probably hear that played during the coronation. It's almost a rock-solid tradition to play Handel's Zadok at every coronation. The rest of the music here is Phantom.

Trying to figure out which studio they used. He mentions Abbey Road but that room is too small to be Studio 1 and it doesn’t look like Studio 2.

I think it's a okay piece. Of course he can't compete with Händel, but he wasn't trying to. He wanted a singable, joyous Song, and so did the King. That's what it is.

@@margaretsacht The music on this video is not the Lloyd Webber piece. The music was superimposed (Handel's Zadok the Priest from the 18th century, which was pinched in mutated form for the Champions League). None of the new music was released before the Coronation so 6th May was the premier. As my son was performing in the Abbey I have that on good authority. If you watch the musicians, they are not synchronised with the soundtrack.

Sorry, but even ALW can't play his own fanfare - or blow his own horn...his anthem, juvenile at best, is worse than his 'Bad Cinderella' score. His average writing days are long done, and his over-rated status needs to end. I've taught high school students who can create better work.
