I have 5 cats, all rescues, and 3 strays that I’m feeding and giving access to a shed to stay dry and warm. My neighbors shun me lol but I’m not the crazy one. My heart would never allow me to leave them cold and starving ♥️🐾🐾
You're compassion for others is beautiful Alee. Don't let anyone tell you it's not. The neighbors have no idea the depths of their ignorance. Both of my kitties were rescues/strays. Nothing says love like sharing your home with the downtrodden.

Both great grannies (whom I knew as a young child) were granny witches. In the mountains of Appalachia where I live this seemed to be more appreciated as people would come to them for healing. Both were avid church-goers, which probably offered some protection. I am very thankful for them and the influence they had on my young life. Good morning and blessings, Colette and Jack!
Ray and Denise McKinney Thank you for sharing about your Great Grannies! We all have wise witches in our families! Were they also "Midwives" for mothers and newborn babies and also assist the dying people & their loved ones? In my great-grandmother's obituary she was described as always helping everyone, giving food, shelter, and aided the women in labor, healing with the newborn children & also with dying people. I believe my great grandmother, "Annie" whom was born in Ireland in 1850, (with her Mother dying after childbirth from the common rampant infections), then at age 2 months immigrated to Canada, then later moved to the northeastern part of KY in USA & settled along the Ohio River across from Ohio in the rural small towns there with a family of 10 children. She was Catholic, yet she was a healer and helper which sure sounds like a true witch. The word witch has its original meaning "the wise ones of the hills". I live in Kentucky, about 40 miles from where my great-granny lived for 60 years & I consider myself to be a Witch, because one reason is that I use herbal remedies, rather than drugs and Doctor visits. I also love Nature!
Oh my gosh! I'm a Kentucky gal, too! Berea. Yes great grans and great greats were midwives. My grans and mother did not follow this path so I rely on the ancestors for guidance, which is abundant. Hugs and blessings .

I live the town of Berea and all the lovely arts & crafts! I went to U. of KY and now reside in Northern KY, in a town next to Newport & lived in Covington as a child and adult for many years. I love seeing the sights of Appalachia and when I was 19, hiked 60 some miles along the Appalachian Trail. I want to do it again before I die! Thank you, Tracy! I really think not following the old ways made both my maternal gran and my mom quite ill, spiritually and mentally. I have had the ancient longings all my life and find great peace in these and in nature, too. I'm my own doctor as well for many things! My fifth great gran was Irish, Priscilla Price, born 1767 and relocated at some point to Stokes, NC. This is through my mom's people; my dad's people are Cherokee -- a whole other expression of the old ways, one that I love, also. Please feel welcome to look me up should you ever head to Berea. Mine, too! I have four including a friendly feral (he didn't start off that way). I built him an outdoor cat shelter which he loves, along with food the local possum sometimes pilfers.

The church is no longer so brutal today , but i cannot longer trust her . Her talking and acting does not fit together . For me only counts , love your next whether human or animal . Witches were just the healers and midwives, they held the wisdom. Black cats today are still seen as unlucky and fill the rescue centres, all because of stupid superstition created by the patriarchal religion of christianity. It was barbaric and ignorant. Beautiful moon Colette and there is still so much beauty in the garden, every season has its own beauty I always think. Pity the camera cut out just as you began to show us the ruined house! Witch shares the same root as 'wick' as in a candle's wick. As the wick keeps alive the flame, the witch is a pagan wise woman who keeps alive the tribal wisdom, pagan lore and healing knowledge. The Abrahamic religions wage war on all things beautiful, creative and regenerative like women - hence witch burnings and feline purges of the past. Thus followers of foreign creeds stamped out the native European traditions of the people, took control of history and turned healing into "medicine".
This autumn, the area where I live was hit by 2 hurricanes. I took down my bird feeders prior to the first storm and just hadn’t gotten around to putting them back up. After seeing this video today, I made it a priority to put up 4 feeders. I have another that needs to go up too but I need another stake. Thank you for the lovely video and providing the motivation I needed.
Dear Colette, I read that the women's children & dogs, were murdered ,too! I have read about that period and have a great book on it. Ohhhhhhh joy! Your camera captures the beautiful face of grandmother moon. Oh how I love earth and moon..... Meh the suns ok... We need the old bard of the sky to grow and other things I suppose!!😮😂 Im such a oh look at the moon person. I taught my grandaughter songs to sing to the moon. And this past weekend I explained Gaia... Mother earth to her. So surprised at how easily she understood that everything around you was alive! I love children. I really really do. So pure of heart and such little shamans they seem to me to be!! People always shy away from the word witch. I chose it so long ago because Not only was I a proud tree hugging dirt worshipper but I use to love provoking or stirring up question and curiosity so to shed light on the false accusations and inbedded fears that still to this day even cause people to shy away from any associations with people like me. My daughter was bullied in the 6th grade. She was cornered and spit on for wearing a pentacle and being introverted. Tho we are american we simply embrace the celtic pagan observances. Or the old ways. Myself I was such a fence tester and protester as a young girl and lady... Im to tierd to protest much anymore and I feel voices are only muted anyway. I love the info about the cats.. Poor dear souls!! I never knew the burnned the cats too!! Bless em. When my daughter was born all the sudden cats just started showing up out of the woodwork. And everywhere we would go wherever my daughter would be playing but Park a friend's house school cats would just show up by the numbers. So we've always had cats around. She seems to understand them and seems to maybe have some kind of unspoken understanding with them it's really magical. I'm really enjoying this video thank you so much for all that you share I learned something in every video. I agree with you about the wise women being killed. They used their own intuition and wisdom to help heal others and the church doesn't like that. Nowadays many, many natural path doctors have "committed suicide" really they were murdered, for exposing certain dark facets about big pharma. Why create a cure when they can create a customer? I would have loved to hear more and see the ruined cottage! :) maybe in another video.
