I really enjoyed this visit. Thank you. As a young girl I enjoyed this time of year so much. I would walk in the dusk and watch the lights in houses coming on and loving the warm glow radiating from the windows. Seemed so cozy and snug. The contrast between the dark and chilly air and the warm looking interiors was magical. So taking this little walk with you was lovely. Seeing the lights from the neighbors distant homes and the glow from your cottage reminds me of some very special times. And I laughed out loud with you at "A wreck of a cottage and 3 acres of mush!" Maybe that should be your next book!! :) Blessings on your evening!

Colette thank you for all you do. The DH got us 40 acres of land to retire to. Saving fruit seeds for trees and bushes. Planting like our lives depend on it thanks to your influence!

Thanks Colette! I want to return to school and get an early education degree. The love of reading is my passion and desire to share this love with little children. Beautiful video again Colette , I love twilight , don't laugh but in the winter I love nothing more than to go in to my garden in the evening with my mug of hot chocolate wearing coat scarf and woolly hat . I can't tell you enough that your videos are so inspiring , and your voice is so lovely that your videos have become part of my life , I get so excited when a new one flashes up on my screen . Bored is rarely even a thought that crosses my mind! Im so blessed with having imagination. The man who commented on being bored needs a project. One that takes years and is a passion and labor of love. My dad is retired and bored to death. Everything boils down. To money with him. It hurts to watch. Cant take it with us so why worry about it. Im so glad I inherited a passion for creating, gardening and a love of color from my mother!!! Shes 82 and creates lovely handmade quilt tops. She cant wait to get out of bed and start all over designing and piecing her lovely tops to resell!! She used to garden but cant do it any more but she draws inspiration from her gardening days. She is working on her quilt tops morning to night. The word bored is not in her vocabulary either...🐝🌺

What glorious light. Makes everything look so vibrant and rich. When I retired at 65 in 2012 I had got to the stage where I was actually afraid that someone might walk in on me and find me dead at my desk. Now, with your inspiration on top of my freed up creativity, I have not felt so alive since probably my early childhood. I thought today as I was shifting a wooden pallet loaded with two heavy bags of compost planted with vegetables from one flat deck trolley to another while favouring an arthritic knee that the doctor told me years ago should have surgery for replacement, I'm not doing too bad for a 72 year old. My garden is tiny - hence the mobile vegetable beds - but I'm working in it. I'm planting in it. Thanks for your inspiration and shared philosophy.

You are describing my life through your life and it's so good to have someone on my wavelength. I have a third of an acre and my boys thought I had lost the plot when I had the shell of a barn built on it and did most of the rest of the work to turn it into a home myself. I planted for the butterflies. birds and bees before I even heard of Bealtaine Cottage. Same wavelength, love it =-)

In 2010 a coworker Delores and I sat on my back deck planning my next project. The place was so barren and boring. One day it hit me: "Being rich" means having something to do!

I love going for a wander in the garden as the light is fading. There is something magical about that time of day. Of course there's also something magical about sunrise. I took some amazing photos in the garden last week before I went to work just as the sun was rising. Everything was saturated but the light quality was amazing.

So lovely! Here, where I live, in Ontario Canada, the winter months are quiet too, but past December there is no gardening. It’s too cold and everything is frozen solid. It is for me, a time to knit, read, plan the vegetable garden for Spring. But the walks are gorgeous, crisp and cold with the red dogwoods shining through a thick blanket of snow and ice crystals glinting in the sun. I absolutely love your garden and your philosophy of life.

Irish women are are strong and self sufficient...my family comes from Belfast...my great grandmother ran a successful farm along side my great grandfather ,my grand mother was self employed as a piano teacher during the depression in the US..successfully supporting a family while my grandfather looked for work and my mother ran a successful printing business and was an artist...I am a retired vet tech and now I still work a parttime job, volunteer at an animal shelter, watch my granddaughters while their parents work, gardening and recycling are my passions, crafting,....I love my life..I still do rescue work..but on a smaller scale. Not bored at all..and yes I am a bit irrational..I wouldn't have it any other way💜

In describing yourself, you've basically described me to a tee. It's uncanny, as I've said before. My son doesn't call me irrational, but he does call me crazy....lol. Whatever I attempt I give it 100%, and woe to the person who tells me I can't do something. As I've told you before we share a birthday. The more videos of yours I watch, the more I giggle xo

When you were talking about your children calling you, it brought many pictures & conversations to mind of my own children. I'm the same Colette....won't accept it can't be done and will not give in or give up lol. I love gardening and have an allotment and for some years now I've been teaching myself to paint watercolour...this winter when the garden is sleeping I'm going to work on painting local scenes and get enough together to hopefully exhibit. Great grandfather came over to England from Ireland in the 1870's I love the idea a little if Irish DNA is within me. I love your little walks Colette. Blessings to u too.
