I shaved with my electric razor today and it was great.Nice shave Johan. I watched Matti shave with one that you honed, he said it was pretty good. He said it needs more work to be smoother .😎

Hi Johan, just used Squadron Soap's Dispatch Rider and a Bengal razor I honed myself (finished on a Welsh slate)...not bad!

You never looked at any honing videos? I did the same thing I did when I got into wet shaving I looked at as many videos and did as much research and talked to as many people in the community as i could. I gathered that getting a synthetic set like a naniwa , then getting a loop to look at the edge after each stone is a great way to tell. My progression is 1k 3k 8k 12k , then crome ox then strop

Thanks. I watch some videos and that's great for learning. Learing to hone is a roller-coaster ride.

Funny start joke 😂 I used to use electric razors (probably 15 years ago) and unlikely to go back to them after the shaving glory with Traditional Wet shaving, as I get older and start getting more dexterity issues I will be forced to evaluate which razors I can use, my own father had to use Carts and Electric razors in his later years (80+).👍🤠🤟

Yes you need decent hands to shave traditionally. Thanks!

I never had a 4/8 razor, that looks fun to shave with

Less fun that larger razors in my opinion.

Head shave with a Gillette Mach 3 (don't judge me) and Aluminum Karve with a D plate for the neck clean up (I have a stubble beard.)

The first razor you shown I've never heard of that brand before is it vintage?
@Shave_n_Butcher
@Shave_n_Butcher 7 месяцев назад
Yes vintage CV Heljestrand out of Sweden.

Well you can kind of tell by what stone you finish with. Like if someone finishes with a 10 k stone, you know it's not going to be as good as a 12k naniwa

Yes for sure

You might not want to go much further down that scatological joke path. Because unlike your "landlord" we ARE judging you! On the wole: Passable, very passable. (Almost like a "Chateau de Chasselais") Today, a Le Père Lucien Abricot and a Merkur 39C with a new Bic blade. The razor makes almost all blades feel smooth.
