Here’s my thing. I feel like Squak and Chirp’s grandfather is super annoyed that they as his family would “remind or paying homage to him” by saying he created birds in writing or common conversation, but we know they got the habit from him. What kind of fey creates birds and then proceeds to not remind every person that they, indeed, created birds.
He knows they're frivolous, flattering, coattail-riding, ego-stroking kids, so the bird stuff annoys him more than it makes him feel good. If there were more external things validating them, he'd probably tolerate it more
The grandfather says at some point something along the lines of "in here, we speak normally", implying that he does bring it up outside the nest but out of obligation, not actual desire
7:15 that "There is nothing between those lines, I drank tea and went to bed. COUSIN!" The way he calls for Cousin! Like "get your loverboy under control I am NOT going to stand for this!"
Emily, Surena and Aabria's outfits killed every episode, Lou and Oscar's reactions to everything was hilarious, Lou and Emily were a treat in every scene they were in together, and everyone freaking slayed this season. Definitely underrated, I couldn't recommend this campaign more!
The melody is Fröhlicher Landmann' by Robert Schumann HOWEVER assuming you're dutch it's hij komt hij komt de lieve goede sint which certainly threw me off
It's actually from the Gaelic, Unseleigh and Seleigh. From old lore of Celtic origin. The Seleigh are the court of Summer, the Unseleigh the court of Winter. Real Yin and Yang vibes.
Yeah seelie and unseelie courts are literally written into the lore of DnD and based on mythology, you can find references to the courts in the core books for 5e, maybe not the players handbook but certainly the monster manual and dungeon masters guide
