...and incredibly attractive not to mention talented. I would really like to see her make it big (she has in my mind but I would like the greater public to know of her talents as well).
Shoshanna and Idina were missing they are 2 of my favorites but I loved this it would be so cool if they did another one of the Glinda’s and elphabas and Idina and shoshanna are in the it and then Kristen and Megan and Jennifer Laura Thompson for the Glinda one
"He gave me permission" [to keep a riff in]. Who is "he", Stephen Schwartz, or, who ever was the Musical Director at the time? I'm curious what, when, why and whose individual musical choices go all the way up the food chain to Stephen Schwartz for approval?
Ok i understand that elphaba is hard vocally, but christine dANcEs oN 👏POINT👏 on top of singing coloratura sopano AND more heavy *ss costumes than elphaba; costume changes lEFt ANd/oR rIGhT!!! Both christine and elphie have to run around the theatre during the show on and off stage, i will say that. Also, elphaba is not really supposed to be a dancer. Her vocal range is F3-F5. Christine's vocal range is G3-E6, and that includes the title song, which a lot of christines choose to do live because they say it does not look right lipsyncing, but that is their choice. I also think that christine is more emotionally chllenging than Elphaba. That is my persuasive essay, mr. rudetsky, take it or leave it. 😂
every christine and possible cover for christine has a DAT in the stage managers office for the title song. elphaba is significantly the more demanding role.
Elphaba is so much harder to do 8 times a week than Christine. Christine hardly goes on the emotional journey Elphaba does. She basically only needs to portray confusion/despair in every scene she is in. Also it’s not about who technically hits the higher note. Christine sings in her soprano, classical head voice which is a very safe, healthy way of singing. Elphaba has 3 very belty songs (which is 24 a week) and high belting is very vocally tiring (and dangerous if pushed too much). I’m not saying Christine is an easy role and it’s probably a good thing she has an alternate - but Elphaba 100% should have one too.
