Cowardly is the word. I want to believe Gareth has a master plan in mind and he’s just waiting for the right moment to unleash it but this is too difficult to watch right now. Also, there’s something of a 1982 WC (I was a kid at the time but vaguely remember) feel to this tournament format where some games remind me of that ridiculous bit of shenanigans between Austria and W. Germany *colluding to massage their way into the next round. How you don’t have more viewers is downright criminal.
@@Enzoblueblood Thanks again for the very kind comment, mate. I think the approach from both the coach and the players is cowardly. It almost looks as if they set up to incredibly conservative in the first half before easing the handbrake slightly in the second before introducing the substitutions. This format lends itself to that sort of collusion - I don’t like it. Teams that didn’t win a single game are progressing into the next round which will dilute the quality of games we see in the last 16.
