I never see folks talk about the book of disquiet. It is one of my all time favorites. I keep it on my nightstand and sometimes randomly open to a page and read a few vignettes. I'm currently reading Stoner also and my heart is breaking - this could be another favorite.

Monstrillio sounds so interesting but I have to be very careful with heavy books because of issues 🥲 it would be great if you did a non-spoiler reading vlog when you get around to it! Also could you do a space tour? I’m in love with your set up!

One time I walked into a Macy’s and thought it was weird nobody else was around. After 15-20 minutes a lady comes by and tells me the store is closed and has been for an hour. I told her the store times on their door say otherwise. She said the hours had changed the week before and was super rude like I’m somehow supposed to know that and broke into the store and not just walked in through their unlocked front door. Anyway, Garden Spells is lovely. 😂

Stoner is probably one of the most unexpected 5-star book I've ever come across. Quietly beautiful and powerful. Definitely add to your list Butcher's Crossing by John Williams, very intense and atmospheric if a bit gruesome at times, perfect for autumn/winter.

I really enjoyed The Familiar!! I want to read The Count of Monte Cristo but I’m also scared 😳😂 I recently picked up Garden Spells from a used bookstore and it sounds very cozy and perfect for fall. Also really want to check out more of T Kingfisher’s books, I just read A Sorceress Comes to Call and loved it! Hope your fall reading goes well!

I’m very excited for Monstrilio, I’ve wanted to pick it up for a while as well. I’ve enjoyed In The Dreamhouse and Carmilla, both top tier books imo! If you’re interested in weird horror books with deeper themes, maybe you would like Chlorine by Jade Song. I just read it, absolutely loved it and have been thinking about it non-stop. I saw the cover of Monstrilio as soon as you picked up the Bradbury book. I LOVED it. Very surreal, very creepy, very insightful. Heavy content warning for child death and corpse mutilation. It really smacks you with it in the opening. That lung scene is pretty graphic if I'm remembering correctly.

I want to read count of monte cristo so bad I haven’t bought it yet. But read on Brandon Sanderson stormlight archive has helped me get over any fear of big books 😅 (the shortest book in the series is 1,000 pages long) I just enjoy the ride now of big books and not worried about time constraints
