Thank you for this beautiful video. It’s nice to see homemakers celebrated. I was a homemaker, now 62, my kids are grown. Back in the day, I was denigrated because I didn’t have a job outside of the home. Many people would say, “You don’t work??!!” Excuse me….but I worked very hard. My home was nice and clean, I cooked from scratch when it wasn’t popular and was available for our kids, who were extremely active. I didn’t miss a thing with regards to their childhood. My home became the safe haven for friends of my kids because both of their parents worked. To this day, their friends stop by my house with their spouses and kids. I feel honored. There was no “job” that I’d rather do than to give service to my family. I never considered it a job but a labor of love. It’s so nice to see that celebrated on this channel.
This was beautiful. Just wanted to share, my Mama was 93, I was 73 and my daughter was 42. I was in front of the mirror, combing Mama's hair, when my daughter walked in and stood beside me watching. She put her arms around me and said look Mama, we're shadows of each other. I thought of this watching you and your daughter fixing flowers. Treasure you shadows, too soon they are gone.
I found myself unexpectedly teary-eyed during this video. I have lately been feeling weary with my motherly/homemaking responsibilities. Thank you for reminding me of the beauty and joy that it brings 💖
Bless you dear sweet one, take courage and comfort you are doing a great job. And a little encouragement from a mother to another mother try to take moments in your day to rest and enjoy small things , blessings 💕
Hi Abby Jo. To the people who raised us, those who were patient and loved us so much to teach us of God's mercy and grace, the beautiful skills of survival and how to make a home are honored most by passing the knowledge on from generation to generation. These are the wealthiest of things we can acquire. This is truly the ordained inheritance that we are to leave our children. Many blessings to you and yours Abby Jo. 🙏
Another benefit of teaching your kids to cook is now that my daughters are in their 40's the holiday dinners are at their houses! We downsized in retirement and they have larger homes, so now they cook for me. I even gave them all my china and holiday dishes.
It’s so wonderful seeing you work with your daughter. This is how it should be but lots of times children don’t find interest in these things. (Even if raised in it) I find this work like art and it brings such satisfaction and peacefulness. ~ Janet 😘
I feel so strongly the same, and it is so precious and I’m thankful for having her by my side ❤️ it’s been a joy to pass on the art of this work to her.
Abby Jo, I hated to see this video come to an end. Everything is so beautiful. Natasha surprises me with all her talent. I knew she was a wonderful gardener, but I had no idea she was an artist too. I wish I was sitting beside you peeling those apples and visiting looking at all the beauty around me. May you be blessed like you bless us with your beautiful videos.
Aww 🥰 sweet friend when you write like that it blesses me to know we are kindred spirits. I would love to have an apple peeling party and have sweet fellowship with so many of you dear ones on this platform 💕
What a cozy, relaxing, and informative video. Your garden is beautiful. You do a wonderful job of preserving your bounty and making simple homecooked meals. I enjoy watching you baking, doing projects, thrifting, and seeing your lovely family.
When i see your post i drop everything. Can hardly wait to see the absolute beautiful content that you and your husband have created. I almost feel like a giddy 6 year old. O goody goody gum drops Abby Jo has posted her vlog!!!!
Thank you for sharing your home and family. Seeing you with your daughter makes me miss my precious Lorie with everything in me (she passed 7/7/2020). Again, thank you for sharing.
So grateful for your channel ❤. It brings so much peace, tranquility and reflective of how I grew up. I also taught my now adult children to cook as well as my grandchildren, now in their late teens. Looking back on it, it was more than teaching them to cook, it was bonding time, a time to learn, laugh and share. Autumn, the season that touches my soul🤎, a time to slow down, cooler days, reading, sewing, crafting, baking, cozy candles and catching up on projects in the home. Your pizzas and cake look awesome!
I feel the same way, it really is about the bonding and fellowship with your kids as you cook with them and make memories forever, plus they learn a worthy skill. It really is the best time of year 🍁🍂🧡🕯️☕️🥧
I look forward to your videos. Such a great pumpkin harvest and gorgeous flowers! I also meant to mention Natasha's beautiful gift of painting and gardening. Amen on letting the kids help in the kitchen. I loved having mine in the kitchen with me. I now enjoy having my grandson's help. He enjoys it too.
WOW! Natasha, is quite the Artist!! That Cottage she painted, is STUNNING!!! 💕💕💕💕. I LOVE all the Bouquets you guys made!! So sweet to see the 2 little ones! They have grown so much! 😃. Your Home looks so cozy and warm!!! 🍁🍂🎃🍁🍂🎃🍁🍂
One of my favorite things to do with my girls too, we paint nails every Saturday evening. its so sweet!!! We start around two years old and they love it. I have four girls and they range from 4-14. I really enjoyed seeing all the pumpkins in your sitting room. I am such a fan of acorn squash, butter nut, pumpkins, gourds, large pine corns, different leaves and such. Its so warm and so very colorful. We made pear sauce this year for the first time and we are just thrilled with how special and velvety it is.
It really is such a special time and a new favorite girl time in our house. I have three daughters still at home 6-19 and I enjoy getting our nails done together :) Love that you also do that!!! Pear sauce is divine, one of my favorites.
Your daughter is beautiful and brings so much to the videos just by smiling. I adore your flowers I felt warmth just listening to the music and viewing the Lords hand at work in each vase. Something about getting one’s nails done that just gives one a boost! Have a great week Abby Jo from another Debbie Jo!
You are right Abby Jo…cooking is a basic skill that can benefit families so much if children are involved in the process from very early on. The pizza especially looks so delicious. Sending love and hugs.🤗♥️
Hi Abby Jo, your video is so heartwarming! It takes me back to days with women in my life who inspired me and are now gone. Your videos feed my soul and I am grateful for you and your family. Thank you for sharing these moments from your life with us!
Hi Abby Jo and Natasha! Those flowers are so beautiful! We treat ourselves every couple of weeks and buy them for $10/bouquet! Love your painted pumpkins too. Your daughter’s was especially beautiful. She is quite the artist! Also love the girl time/gel nails. Hello from SC!😊💕🏝️
Hello ❤️ I will have to treat myself to flowers this winter too, because I have to have flowers in the house 💐 Natasha is very talented with her drawing and painting. 🍁🕯️🍂🥧
Hi Abby Jo. Your fall-decorated home, as always, is stunning. How wonderful will the memories be of you and your daughters giving each other manicures and also the pumpkin painting parties. They were lovely.
Once again, you've transported us to a warm and cozy place where we wish we could smell the apple plum cake ! You could, if you like use your tall candlesticks on each side of the fireplace down on the hearth, it would look beautiful with pumpkins around them.❤
I love your content!! New sub here. I love just love how comfortable you are in your own skin. Such a beautiful representative of the traditional values of being a woman and a mother and a wife. It is so beautiful to see how you embrace your role and how that enriches your families lives. What a blessing you are, and I thank you for sharing your life with us.
That dinner looked so good! I love the idea of just cutting up the biscuits instead of rolling them out. I’m gonna try that next time I make them. Your flowers take my breath away! So beautiful.
I just found your account and what a pleasure watching real home making . What peace and pleasure you bring through the video.❤This is what Family is all about spending time together and taking care of each other. Your daughter Natasha is amazing painting.🍂🍁 Very talented she is..
All that produce is like piles of money and health and vitamins! Im green with envy over the piles of pumpkins and the beautiful bouquets! Thanks for sharing!
Love your videos! Beautiful, soothing, and romantic. I love the music you choose also. Beautiful pumpkins, bouquets, and cakes! Thank you! I swear I could smell those apple-plum upside down cakes!
Love this channel!!!! I'm always so inspired every time I watch and never disappointed. It's like going home. Beautiful, beautiful content and photography.
Thank you for such a lovely and sweet video. Your voice and the music are both so soothing. Loved seeing the children in the kitchen with you. The flowers are beautiful
Simply Beautiful, Mother & Daughter arranging Flower Arrangements. A Girls Favorite Thing Flowers!! Well My 3 Daughters and I feel this way. Your Channel is Just Wonderful.
Such marvelous abundance! I loved this video so, so, SO much, Abby Jo. It's wonderful to see all of the bounty from your garden. All of this homey goodness makes my soul sing. I'm so happy that you've had such a good experience growing in a new, colder, environment. I've recently found out about a small seed company that's part of a farm in the Finger Lakes region of New York. All of the seeds they sell are organic and are all varieties that are ideal for their growing zone, which is zone 5. I'm in northeastern Pennsylvania. We're zone 6, so those seeds are very good choices for us, too. I love that I'm able to support a small, ethical, organic farm and get quality seeds at the same time. I know the harvest and preserving are a lot of hard work, but I am with you on the feeling of satisfaction that goes with having your pantry and freezer well stocked. It's wonderful that you're sharing all of this experience with your children. For me, this is what life is all about. Thank you for another beautiful and cozy video! Blessing to you all! 🙏❤
Thank you so much dear! I would love to know the name of this company? Please send it my way. ❤️ I totally agree with you, it really is what it’s all about. It makes me so happy to teach my children and work with them. Blessings 🥰
@@ForgottenWayFarms, the name of the company I mentioned is Fruition Seeds. They also have a lot of good growing information and tutorials on their website. I'm realizing how important it is to have seeds that are adapted to your growing region, especially for things like tomatoes and peppers that take a long time to mature and ripen.
Abby Jo, I enjoy your channel so very much! Well done on such a beautiful garden! I love seeing the beautiful colors amidst the bounty of home grown goodness. I share your values on teaching our children and exposing them to all things in growing and producing food. These are valuable life lessons. ❤
What a stunning to look at and plentiful season, you've had. Those tomatoes are amazing. Summer meals are so fun. Platter style is so easy to serve ,eat and clean up is easier. Making their own pizzas, is one of my kids favourite memories. Yours look delicious.❤ Thank you for sharing all this beautiful content here. Happy Autumn to you all ❤❤
Thank you sweetheart, it’s been so fun harvesting so much food from the garden. Summer meals are so fun, I’m going to miss them! Pizza and making cookies are my kids two favorites 😂❤️ sending my love 😘
So so so magnificent beginning to end. I could do with a few friends locally that live like this. Seriously. Grateful for your Chanel as it’s the only way for me to enjoy this kind of living and some reminders of my childhood life on the oregon coast. Bless you dear girl and your very precious family.
You were so lucky to have such a long grow season! I am zone 4 in MN and we had to take our garden out at the end of Sept due to a few weeks of cooler weather that caused the growing to cease. Your flowers too lasted so long! I just watched the goldfinches take the last of our sunflower seeds and I still hate to cut them down! Thanks for sharing such a peaceful and easy time with us!
I just sat down with my baby and coffee and your video popped up!!🙌😊 I've just started watching and your dress and hair!! Aww, so pretty!! Good job on the harvest, sweet girl!! She's so big now!😊
I'd love to know more about your garden planning; what plants, veggies, berries, squash, flowers, etc you're planning on using next season. I love to take the time during fall and winter to plan, look through seed catalogues and hear about other people's ideas for their upcoming gardens. Love your videos, looking forward to the slower winter season ahead.
Just stumbled across ur channel on my feed and fell in love with ur lifestyle and content. I am striving to bring my life into a more simplistic and hygge way. There is way too much stress in the world and I want our home to be that sanctuary away from it all. Thk u for sharing ur gifts and talents with us.
Have you ever tried canning pickled green tomatoes? They are sweet like bread and butter pickles. They are cut into chunks and served with meats, fried fish etc. also, the same thing with apple relish. If I had an abundance of pumpkins like you showed I would make some pumpkin preserves. I am like you and I love canning! Such a good teaching and learning experience that can be handed down from one generation to another. Love your videos! Reminds me of times spent with my grandparents and all the canning we did. 😊
Beautiful vlog! I am canning up applesauce and we're making cider too from our apple orchard. Canning up last minute tomatoes also. Autumn is my favorite time of the year. All the produce I've grown I can now preserve. All the colors of the trees and bushes. My allergies kick into high gear though but, I still love Autumn. Another great vlog!
@@ForgottenWayFarms it is similar to a zucchini bread with the sugar/cinnamon taste. A good item for tea or as a breakfast muffin. Recipe easily found online. I made without nuts back when I made it. It was well received by neighbors and used up the harvest.
I really enjoy your videos. One thing I noticed today was your daughter is quite an artist. She did such a great job painting her pumpkin. What a great surprise! Has she always been gifted in that area?
