I wish I had your energy. But in my defense I am 80 years old so I am doing pretty darn well . I also jump from one project to another. 😂. I love your home. I love watching your videos. I am so grateful that you have the energy and desire to share all you do. I love it. ❤
@@newenglandfineliving As a runner for 36 years I've had a mantra that I think applies to all different activities and circumstances: The day will come that I can no longer do this. Today is not that day.
I'm 70 and there is things I am very leary of doing now. My mom never spoke of being old and I'm not going to say it either. I love "I will until I can't."... I also try to keep active. Age is beautiful I guess we can say... arthritis and all. 😒
I agree! So many of us live in houses, ordinary spaces with painted surfaces. When you have this element of beautiful and special wood here and there it is exceptional. I love most everything our Miss Linda does, but I also think the shot of the primary bedroom from before, looked more elegant, snuggly, and grounded than it does presently, but that’s just me😜
@@Vieweratlarge yes, I like the dark wood ceiling in the bedroom as was before it was painted white. But like you said, that's just me too. But with that said, I just love this home, it is beautiful...And I love Willow too.
That window in the kitchen is just my absolute favorite feature! Also, that parting shot of your kitchen at twilight is just chef’s kiss! Absolutely stunning!
I love the warmth of beautiful lighting. It is so important and often overlooked. You are so aware of the proper lighting in design. The lamps you have chosen to have, make your home so elegant.
Linda I also love toile and it doesn’t matter if you don’t match it’s beautiful. I could actually live in your butler’s pantry lol. I have my blue Spode plates hanging above the window in my dining room and every time I look up they make me smile. I look forward to your videos on Sunday morning as I have my coffee and step into another world, thank you
Just a hint about bringing in pine cones from the outdoors. You would be wise to boil them in water first to void off getting any insects or unwanted Critters coming into your home. You will be amazed at what comes out. Hope this helps! Love what you have done!❤❤
You can also seal pine cones in a big zippered plastic bag for a week or two. This “quarantine” will evict most if not all of the unwelcome passengers.
My gosh, Linda!! I don’t know how anyone could accuse you of being a slacker!!! You accomplish SOOO much! I’m amazed how much you get done in your home!! Between your tavern room renovation, your butlers pantry, kitchen and your yard work, you are busy all the time!! But I must say…. Those cobwebs could have stayed put! lol !! It gives more charm and ambiance for Halloween !! lol🎃🍂👻 Have a good week! 😄
Look at you tackling all those chores! Such a great feeling when it is all done and it pleases the eye. I really enjoyed this video, I love when you share your home and your ideas. Happy decorating!
This is the first home I've seen that is the height of elegance but incredibly warm and inviting at the same time. It says that Linda is both elegant and warm herself
Excellent advice about focussing on what we HAVE done, not what we Haven't (yet!) accomplished. This really comes into play as you get older---I used to do 5 hours of labor on my house/garden/whatever & at the end feel a satisfying sort of tiredness. Now, it's an hour, 1/2 hour & I'm exhausted & achy, feeling frustrated b/c it's so hard to complete tasks (I have a little paint job to finish the kitchen from about 4 YEARS ago---it's the toe-kick & I can't crawl on the floor any more!). But it's a good reminder to focus on what I did do & be grateful that I have the means to hire someone to do the rest!!
I so enjoyed seeing all the before’s and currents you shared with us today! I truly forgot just HOW MUCH you’ve done since you moved in a few years ago!!! 😲👏🏼
The Claire Burke candle in the fall box is wonderful! It fills my whole house with the best scent! It smells like I just took an apple pie from the oven.
Linda, I had forgotten what the house looked like before you made all those changes. You've accomplished a lot in the short time living in Sugarwood. I love your home and precious Willow.
Linda , I love your house so much. Your ideas The painting sticks are brilliant! Willow is like my Spock, follows back and forth everywhere you go. You have really done a lot. See you next week.
I dump my older sugar, flour, etc. in a bowl then put the newer sugar, etc., at the bottom then add the older back on the top. This keeps it fresh. Love the videos as always.
I enjoy watching your videos!!! Your home is so beautiful!!! Watching you today takes me back to my last house I was at for 25 years where I decorated, gardened, cooked, sewed and entertained. For the last 13 years live in a condo and still decorate and change things to keep it updated like recently replacing my dark brown busy looking granite countertop to an off white quartz which changed the room immensely, just fun since I love my home to look charming and inviting. Again your home is charming!!! Carole❤
i love all that you have done w/your home... my fave rooms are the butlers pantry kitchen, tavern in that order ! i love all the paint and also the "bee" wallpaper
Did I ever tell you that your house is my dream house? Yard and all. Love those Halloween faces on the apothecary jars. Maybe baby size tasseled knitted caps for Christmas on the lids? Just an idea but you'll come up with something cute. After 3 years of watching you, I am never disappointed. Thanks Linda!
Your home is so cozy, you have made so many good decisions by adding windows and so many things, thank you for the tip on the paint sticks so simple and yet so helpful, wish I had done that years ago. Your home is just beautiful.
Thanks for the paint stick tip, so helpful! I giggled when you were working outside in your PJ’s! I do the same thing, get started and don’t want to stop to get dressed! Your home is beautiful, TFS.
Thank you so much for this week video, a viewing of which ifor one considered time well apent ..Ps i am a huge fan of toille linens and wall paper too .. Enjoy your week ahead there .
Thanks Linda, for reminding to give ourselves credit for the things we HAVE done and not be so hard on ourselves. Also for demonstrating how important it is to take time to nourish our souls by cherishing the beauty of nature. Your kitchen area looks beautiful, such a great idea to add the windows, fireplace and window seats. Love the wing chairs there too.
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one in love with toile! I actually just bought two pillow covers in red toile on Amazon! Last year this time i also bought my beloved collection of Masons Vista dishes!! I wanted red transferware for YEARS and I'm so happy I found some! It makes such a beautiful Christmas table! Thank you for your videos Linda!
You have inspired me to decorate a little more for Halloween,. I decorate for fall but I am lacking in spooky decor. Lol. I did bake a chocolate cake this morning, my grandchildren are coming for dinner, I have made chocolate trees with bats , i will make dirt with chocolate cookies and add gummy worms, They will love it. Beef stew is on the menu. I love this time of year.
I love the idea of the paint sticks, especially once you put them on a chain! They would also work like swatches to see what goes well together. I also take a black Sharpie and write (on the can lid) the name of the room and the date. It’s also helpful to the next owners so that they don’t have to open every can and try to figure it out.🙌🏻
I enjoyed this so much Linda! I have watched the transformation of your home, and there is just no comparison of the old kitchen to the new. The addition of the fireplace and windows are stunning. The glass pumpkin and the candle are my 2 favorite items in the fall box. Looking forward to the Christmas box! Have a wonderful week. 🧡🤎💛
Amazing episode per usual!!!! love the paint stick idea. Also Personally I would have done a faux wood finish on the bump out to match the beams, that would have looked so beautiful
I can't believe the transformation you've achieved over such a (rather) short period of time Linda. The house looks so different and so beautiful! I still remember the workers coming on a heavy snow day and all the tools around the kitchen....Oh that Willow...my Bridget does the same to my sofa pillows, she likes to re arrange the place until it is to her liking...But she's my beloved pup was can I say. Have a lovely week and thanks for another beautiful video.
Linda, you make me smile. We are a lot a like in many ways. I always start something and get sidetracked, so I can relate. The kitchen window looks beautiful as well as how you styled everything. You have done so many wonderful changes to your home, I’m in awe! TFS, until next week…❤🍁🍃🎃
Linda- you are amazing! Just when I think your home looks lovely, you tweak and mold Sugarwood into a quite a jaw dropper. I wish you were my neighbor!
Linda, what I love about you is your cute giggle and down to earth personality and go with the moments what ever you feel about doing and making your videos fun. I too! Love going out after dark to look at the house and my decorating ideas.
Yes I too am searching for how to seal my jars airtight! No one has submitted any ideas yet so if you get an idea please share! Fall is beautiful and your home is beautiful!
Those final pictures of your home were beautiful so warm and cozy! I love the ghosts on the canisters what a super idea! It was also fun seeing your before and after pictures. You have certainly done a lot of work! It was well worth all the effort and looks wonderful!
Watching very late at night in springtime from the Southern Hemisphere. I get lots of good ideas for seasonal decorating that I shamelessly steal from you…….thanks for the hard work you must put into these videos.
Thank you for all your beautiful, inspiring videos. I now am going to call winter the cozy season...an attitude adjustment, will just try to enjoy the season more!
I’m so glad you enjoyed them there. We really never got to use them where we do use them each morning in the kitchen. I first purchased them for the library.
Linda, your transferware is gorgeous! I have blue peony transferware (newer) from Churchill that I found at Target years ago. The sets for four were $30 on clearance. You have inspired me to look at antique shops for older pieces.
Linda, started following you when you were deep into your kitchen remodel. Love your home. It is stunning. I look forward to Sundays and your videos. Every week there are cooking tips, decorating ideas and lots more. Have a great week!
When the mood to paint strikes, you just have to do it. I got the bug to paint my kitchen and rushed right out to buy paint before I changed my mind. It's easy to procrastinate. That's a good idea about the paint sticks. You sure have accomplished a lot in a short amount of time, Linda. Everything looks lovely.
I admire anyone who paints, since I would rather get a root canal than paint! lots of great tips and ticks, but that nighttime kitchen is swoon worthy.
Myrtle topiaries are very unforgiving,if not kept watered! They are my pride and joy. I have 8 very healthy ones. Some I’ve had 7+ years, which is a little unusual. Their life span isn’t much more than 3 years. I put mine outside all Summer, just brought mine indoors a week ago! I just love you kitchen/ dinning room area!
@@roksannastephens4375 I’m in Minnesota, and haven’t been able to purchase any here. I order online, they range around $40.00 a piece, but, with good care they grow pretty fast. They love being cut/ trimmed in their ball shaped heads.Outside I watered daily, inside sunny window, every other day.
Oh Linda you have done an amazing job in decorating your home. Ijust love it. Wishing you and Ben nothing more than a happy healthy life for the years to come in your beautiful home.💌💌💌💋
