I remember my first fall. Basically at this point I had just learned to canter but still needed some work on my balancing in it. If you remember I ride a pony called titch and when we were trotting some poles on the second set I felt him speed up, he did a full on at least 2 foot jump over the pole and went into canter. However as I wasn’t expecting the jump I lost my left stirrup during it and fell off.
Omg so much happened in that video! Definitely wernt joking when you say breezy is always a fun time!😂 im so glad you sat the buck and are okay from your fall! ❤❤
Not trying to be an internet trainer honest! But this is a problem I used to have too, and still sometimes struggle with when I can't get a horse off my leg. You might be tipping your pelvis or upper body forwards when you ask for the canter, which is why you end up scooting to the back of the saddle and your legs go forward into the 'armchair' position (also some saddles don't help as they don't always suit the rider, but as we ride school horses that's just something we have to work around). It's difficult to tell, but this is a common habit! Try relaxing down instead of tensing up when you ask. When we tense, we block the movement of the horse which actually makes it more difficult for them to pick up the canter. You've got a great seat, but relaxing and letting your leg hang long and low, and hug the belly when you ask rather than holding and tensing might help! Also, great job sitting the buck, goes to show you're sitting correctly, or you would have been off!
I know I’m late to this video but my pony spooked just like Breezy did last night at the trot. I lost one of my stirrups but stayed on. I had to turn early at the corner every time going the one way. This was a bit challenging at times because the pony needs a ton of outside leg to turn and if you use to much rein she won’t turn. Well sat on that buck 👏
Great job sitting that buck! What a vlog - so much excitement for one lesson! 😅 Also side note, great job on your heels! I’ve been working on getting my heels even further down while in two point (despite my lower leg going completely numb for reasons unknown). Suffice to say when you get to jump, you’ll have a solid anchor. Good ride Clara!
It really was an eventful lesson 😂 omg thank you so much! Yes don’t worry my lower leg goes numb sometimes too! I think in those cases I might be jamming my heel too far down and not having enough blood flow to my feet! LOL
You’re such an amazing rider! I fell off a little over a year ago and broke my arm when my horse spooked. But I’m fine now and riding them again. But you’re so amazing for staying on.
I had my first buck at my last lesson too, my horse spooked at a cat (I believe) and he started to buck a few times which made me go sideways on his neck. When he cooled down I slid off not hurt!! Love your videos ❤❤ I forgot to add this but a mare at my barn just add a filly last night!!!! She’s so cute 🫶🏻
Hi! I fell this morning in my lesson! It was my second fall and she bucked me off. I am fine and it didn’t hurt. And both of my falls were on a pony with a food name, Blueberry and Salty(a gray)! But it’s ok we BOTH fell! Hope you’re ok too!
I am so cheering for you and you are doing fantastic and have come so far in your riding lessons and over all horsemanship!!! I however was so excited and super glad that you had a go with a trouble maker pony to get the experience you truly needed to take you to that next level that you just cannot get from well trained horses that will in turn spoil you rotten and won't learn a plum thing. It is so good that you even had that experience to stay alert at all times as clearly seen why when that pony kicked a little while being groomed. I cannot help but notice that your rider instructors are remarkably loving, caring and crazy smart to pair you up with a sassy pony like that. You really need to learn to take full control and assert your knowledge as the rider with your pony or horse you are with or else they will be a nasty little monster and not as adorable and innocent as we all dreamed and believed at one time lol. I also want to say how impressive to see you did not lose it with that naughty little pony with that crop lol, I would have been very temped to lololol for a number of reasons so you are one up on me with that! Cheers friend!!!
Aaawwwww what a lovely message!!! Thank you so much! 🥰 yes my riding instructor is the best! The sassy/tough ponies definitely have a lot to teach us so it’s good that we ride them too as well as the push button ponies! This was a good lesson for my growth! Thanks again for the kind message 😇
Oml u did so well anyways ilysm clara stay strong and Breezy was so spicy lol, U handled it rlly well even if u fell off!! ❤ also I LOVEEEEE UR SADDLE PAD ITS GORGEOUS
well done!! obviously falling is never fun but i really wish i had fallen more during the first few years of my riding because it wouldn't have freaked me out so much when i did eventually fall later on. not only did you handle it well, you got back on and kept trying for the whole lesson! and you didn't get frustrated when your horse was making things tricky! i hope you can see that you're taking all those tough lessons on rolo/filo/maple whoever else and applying them each time :)
Yes that’s so true !!! It’s good in a way to get your first fall out of the way ☺️ it makes the other ones not so scary!! Yes exactly! The tough horses are the ones who are helping me grow as a rider the most !
CLARA MY GIRL! YOU SAT THAT CANTER SOOOOOO NICELY AND YOU HANDLED THAT BUCK LIKE IT WAS NOTHING MY STRONG QUEEN! I HOPE UR OKAY PRETTY GIRL! STAY SAFE! ❤❤❤ Edit: A tip though, if you’re sitting too far back, that’s probably because you’re leaning too far front and it’s pushing your seat back, try to LEAN back and keep your legs and seat forward, it helps!
hey ! you are progressing so so well in your riding journey, i just have a little constructive tip for you! there’s no need to two point over a ground pole (in trot), it makes it a bit more difficult for the horses to lift their forehand ,not that they have to lift it much, but i think breezy would take a ground pole much better if you were just to sit it xx not trying to be rude at all and not sure if your trainer taught you to but yeah just a tip :)
I once got bucked off and broke my wrist. This was in September 2023 and I lost ALL my confidence and have only just started regaining it. I have lost so much confidence that I can't even bare to ride the horse and I really wish I could but I just can't do it. I am really proud of myself though because I did get back on him but I was a bit disappointed that I was scared to trot but oh well. I also had my first canter since my fall 2 weeks ago!
Omg I’m so sorry that sounds so scary!! I’m good for you getting back on! It can take some time to build up your confidence after a bad fall like that, just take it one day and at time! You’re doing great 🥰
Whoopsie haha I'm glad ur ok from ur fall🤣 Iv'e also been kicked like that, just in my leg lol Bucks, Idk they seem rlly fun to me 😂 My pony LOVES to buck Loved the video!
i hadent fallen off for 3 years since i started riding and when i changed riding schools i fell off a lot but it was advanced ponies/horses whcih is good that i started faling off a lot because it taught me so much about how to sit properly and what to expect and to solely get used to it and it made me such a good rider now and ive been riding for 6 years!
Life with greys … they always wanna be bays 😂 omg I’ve done the exact same silly little fall at the beginning of one of my rides ! Ngl u putting your arm out to break your fall kinda gave me a bit of anxiety 😂
Bahaha I know right 😂 Omggg yeah I realized that after I was like if she was taller or even going faster that would not be a good for my elbow, next time I’ll tuck it in for sure ! It was just instinct
Congratulations on sitting your first buck. It was funny because you said you would never buy a grey horse, then you came off at the walk and got a buck at the canter. I think Breezy heard your thoughts.
I fell off for the first time yesterday, it was pretty much like yours, but I was just trying to get the pony into the corners and then she did what breezy did, I fell off and went a bit under her when I fell onto my back her front hoof accidentally hit my face which hurt a bit, I didn’t get back in the same pony but still got back on a different pony
I fr ride a Grey lesson pony.. in the winter.. HE IS ALWAYS DIRTY butttttt he is so nice that he only makes himself dirty where he alr sheds so it‘s easy to clean but there are some days.. where.. uhm.. he is FILTHY :) but he‘s my heart horse so I’m fine with dealing with it. Also I get to ride him today after 8 weeks or smth!!
Oh, I used to ride a horse like that. I had only ridden her like twice before, so I wasn't used to her. I was asking for the canter and then she bucked me. I sat it, but then she bucked me again, and then I fell off. Luckily, I wasn't hurt that bad, just my legs were hurting. (I was riding western, so my legs got thrown into the horn)
A little tip for the trot is to use your leg to push your horse out to the rail insted of all your rains use your rains and your inside leg no hate btw ♥︎♥︎♥︎
this is why i am so glad my new barn doesn’t put my horse out when it’s wet bc it would take forever to groom him and my coach would get so mad at me when i was late
My horse spooked like that yesterday during canter 🙈 The reason is... she saw a little bird ahead. Little but apparently murderous! Those mares are fun fun fun 😅
There’s a horse like this at my yard it’s called petal and it’s a Welsh sec a she always wants to refuse, turn to the back Buck and brink but she’s so funnn!!
12th lol Omg ive hadnt had a buck before but i have had a brinc when the little pony i was riding decided to jump over the poles and at the end started broncing and i fell breezy looks so muddy when u got him out of the field a horse af one oc my yards was filthy and we had to get him ready in 5 mins and he still had the stain t9day when i went there 🤣🤣 love ur channel so much ❤😂 had a small fall but it happens breezy seemed like he was having fun with you today 🤣🤣❤
I’m an new subscriber to ur channel I have been here for some months now but I just did like I can subscribe like and comment and I just love ur vids I also ride ur such an a amazing rider got right back after every fall I have ur so confident ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Any tips on sitting trot? (English) bc i find it really hard and all the videos i find just say pretend there is something you don’t want to loose and you want to keep it on the saddle and it rlly doesn’t help?
not how it works… you can slide off a big horse and be perfectly fine but if a small poky threw you.. I sprained my arm and got a concussion from ponies.
I did bareback lesson and I fell off 3 times 2 at trot didn’t hurt then I took him to a lope and well… let’s just say he flung me. Anyways I hope ur ok!
Hi! I LOVEE your vids sm :)) I hope to become like you someday.. Do you have any tips for starting to vlog? I want to start a channel and hopefully do well, and have lots of fun! That was an awesome lesson you had there today, and a very nice save :))
Aww thank you so much!!! If you can get a GoPro I would recommend! It’s so easy to film your rides and you even forget that you’re wearing it so it doesn’t feel like you’re filming and feels very natural. Most importantly, have fun with it and make the kind of videos that you would personally watch and enjoy ❤️
Ahh I’ve been bucked off before, my first one, I was on this pony who istg HATED ME he bit me kicked me tryed to bolt with me etc. we were cantering around and the pony jigsaw tripped a lil and I lost a stirrup and jump a lil forward on the saddle and replaced my self in the right spot, and he pit his head down when I lost my stirrup and went rodeo :). BUT I was at a new yard and never seen anybody there but my instructor said none of the over girls have ridden jiggy, BEACUSE HES STILL A “LIL” GREEN. for a grade TWO. Yeah after I fell of he bucked me again 😂 and I summer saluted into a arena door.
bucks are so fun to sit! honestly as long as i dont get hurt falls and bucks just make a ride more interesting and fun 😂 also tip for getting a more extended and big trot is to post further out of your saddle, which gets you off of your horses back so its easier for them to extend!
Once I was riding a very spicy and fresh pony and when I picked up the canter she was going well until she started bucking and kicking and bronking, I sat there for some time until I couldn’t take it and I fell over her head, did a front flip and landed on my head and back😅. It was very scary but I just got back on and laughed even tho I was dying
OMG NOO! That’s so scary!! Good for you getting back on, it can be so scary but as long as you’re not too hurt it’s the best thing you can do for yourself! If you wait to get back on it’ll just be even more scary!
No hate or anything, but that is not how you count a horses steps or strides. I don’t know if it was an exercise that you were doing or something, but that is not how you count horse steps :)
@@kenziebenzie2111 when counting in lines of poles at a show for example that isnt how its counted, its every other step. its not just how I was taught, everyone ik does it. maybe some were taught this way and while it theoretically isnt “wrong” its not how you would normally do it.
@@coffeeandhorses7991 she’s been riding for over two years now, you’d know that if you actually paid attention. A real equestrian that’s doing better than horse would be giving her skills on what to do next time instead of just criticizing her.
@@coffeeandhorses7991that was completely uncalled for, she’s still learning but she’s aloud to have confidence in herself. she’s a good rider, especially for the amount of time she’s been riding. don’t act like you were perfect when you first started
@bibblecat @GH_Equestrian thanks for defending me ❤️ I finally blocked her. She’s been commenting on every single one of my videos every day for a week straight. Just being rude and straight up harassing me lol Technically yes I did fall off Rolo BUT I prefer to call it a dismount cuz I landed on my feet 😉
Wow! I saw the title, and I haven't watched it yet, but I hope ur okay!! Bucks are so scary, and my first couple of times sitting bucks, it was pretty scary! But I'm so excited to watch ❤
Aww i remember when i rode breezy i was 5! (that was 7 years ago) now i ride at bayveiw! and i love a horse named ransom and jump 3,6! he is a grey! its so hard to clean him lol
So real! I fell off like that one time.My mom and trainer said it was a graceful fall.I got a werid distance and then my pony took a tight turn,I landed to the side and she went faster and I fell off. I was like leaning and like hanging on the side, kinds like you were😂
why is it always the greys who are absolute bog ponies!? Sure it shows up more but they seem to absolutely slather themselves in mud in a way the bays just don't 🤣
You fell so gracefully- . Still watching this . But that kick was so funny 😂 (when you were picking out her feet) my horse bucked atleast 2-1 week ago and it was so funny bc all we were doing was cantering Lol love this videos sm ! (Even tho it’s all you post 🫶🏻)
@@RidewithClaraofc I used to ride a pony with so much sass! He kicked so many other horses. Bit me. Bolted with me and threw me off. And bucked a lot but I guess we still learn from these types of ponies! 🫶🏼
14:35 I luv how everyone went quiet to see what gonna happene but when they saw it was Alr I luv how u guys laughed it off and didn’t let breezy get away with it:) and at 14:39 u sat that well when he threw his head u did pull but I could tell u absolutely didn’t mean to hurt but well ridden girlfriend!
