I normally do the usual way and after the detail is done I pull the starter tail a bit, so the cone straightens, but this method is way better and easier. Thanks for that!
Wow............ That was very helpful thank you so much for sharing i have just started crocheting a couple months back and had never crocheted in my life before but looking at my crochet skills my mom is surprised as she says it doesn't feel like you have never crocheted before.
I also never crochet before this new year. I learned basic stitches like sc, hdc, dc, inc and dec on day one, and next day i already made bee amigurumi. although it is not perfect and i just learned how to count stitches after that along the way, i just want to say it is not impossible to learn crochet fast, especially in this era where tutorials are easy to find. I still need much to learn tho, since i only made some small amigurumis for a few weeks and never try others yet. Good for you for start early and already be good at it. I just wish I started it sooner when I was still teen. I'm 27 this year.
I am a certified master knitter and never really wanted to crochet. I wasn't good at it either. I teach kids and teens knitting as a side job (history and English teacher) and many wanted to learn crochet so they can do amigurumi and stuffies. This is the best trick ever. Thank you so much. I tell my students to watch you and look at the things you make. They learn a lot from you.
Omgee!!!! I thought I was the ONLY person to do this!!!! I was teaching a crochet class and they were ASTOUNDED that I skipped over the first row EVEN with showing the results!!!! 🤦🏾♀️ it’s ok just to TRY something new!
You are amazing! Thank you so much I’ve searched this problem endlessly and could never find a solution. I always wondered how people we’re getting such beautiful results from the same pattern and yarn I was using but not me!
I’ve used this in EVERY ami pattern I’ve done this year and it works on almost every project, and most sizes of yarn. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! Best crochet/ami hack I have EVAAAAR FOUND!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It also depends on your stitch tension. I do looser stitching for the first 2 rows and then go in with my normal tension and that also creates a perfect curve.
I've been crocheting for well over 55 years and never thought of doing that thank you for sharing 😊 this will help me so much with all sorts of projects 😊 ❤
You will find that if you do it this way, you might struggle to close up the middle, so instead what you could also do if you find that a struggle, is to put 8 single crochet into the ring, then sc 1, inc, repeat (gives you 12) then you can just continue as normal. 😊
Thanks! I just made a spheal amigurumi that was made in double crochet according to the pattern. But whenever I did it in DC, I got the 'nipple' in the center, just like you showed 🤭 I managed to make the pattern in single crochet and it worked out, but it's a bit smaller of course 😅 but man! This is such a great solution! I crochet quite tight, so the nipple problem has haunted me for a long time 🤭
Thank you so much for this!!! I was just in the middle of crocheting something and I was so frustrated at how pointy it was. It looks like I'll have to completely redo the progress I've made but it will be worth it!
