So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village of Farmington which is located in Gloucestershire, England. Farmington is approximately 2 miles from the town Northleach. In 2011 the population in the village was 112. The church of St Peter was built in the 12th century and is Grade I listed.
We see the church at 33:15 and stay there until the walk ends.
It was lightly raining when starting the walk but then stopped around the time of reaching the Festival of Britain bus shelter. Not long after I tried closed my umbrella whilst holding the camera which turned into a bit of a mess, hence the jump cut! Also around this time or maybe just before the camera lens seemed to mist up a bit but then cleared at around 20:40 when entering the field.
Although there is no hidden OAAW logo in this video there is one large logo which was used to camouflage a skip.
Thanks for walking with me.

How can one area be blessed with so much natural beauty?! Yet this is the Cotswolds! There were too many enjoyable components of the walk to take time to comment on each, but the experience as a whole was- as always- delightful. (I’m glad that you never let the rain stop your adventures!). One thing that I always particularly appreciate about your videos is the slower pace, and your attention to detail- stopping to examine and feature things that many people would perhaps pass by. This is how I like to walk, too- so perhaps this is what accounts for my finding it very appealing. I loved hearing the birds! Yesterday when walking my dog, I heard (but didn’t see) a robin- which is always a big deal here in Western New York, as when robins appear, spring is not too far behind. Today we are starting out with temps in near 60F- and by evening they are expected to be below freezing. Then by Friday it is expected to be up to 50F again! This is spring in WNY (though technically a few weeks before the actual date). Thanks for the good walk! : )

Hi, Janet. Thank you ever so much for your lovely comment today. And we still have more beautiful villages to visit & document within the Cotswolds which I’m sure will also be eye catching. The slower pace seems to have now stuck with me so I can’t imagine it ever changing :). Hearing the birds is the icing on the cake. Out of all our feathered friends the robin has to be my favourite. I am looking forward to seeing things green up again in the spring. Thanks again, Janet. Hope you are both well. All the best. ~ OAAW

@@OutandaboutWalking Oh, I hope you don’t ever change the slower pace of your walks! While there is a time for walking briskly to get exercise, when one wants to really savor nature and fully appreciate its beauty, walking at a slower pace is essential. I have very occasionally watched other virtual walks, and though they were nicely done, I sometimes felt like I was speed walking, and could not enjoy the details of the places being passed. Robins are my favorite birds, too! I know that there are slight differences between European robins and American ones, but it seems that both sport cheery red breasts, both sing delightfully melodic songs, and both are welcome harbingers of spring. (Thoughts of spring are welcome; it’s snowing here again. Sigh.) : / We are well, and I hope that you are, too. Have a great week! : )

Hi, Michele. It is lovely to hear from you today. Really glad you enjoyed this one. I must confess, I was sitting on the fence with this walk as I kind of felt like it was a little bit messy in terms of my filming, it is probably just my mind working overtime! That sounds like a lovely atmospheric walk that you took. It must be wonderful to be living close to the coast as well as having lakes not too far away also. All the best to you & many 🙏. ~ OAAW

Hey OAAW~ So calm and peaceful… thank you! Wouldn’t it be cool to revisit such scenes as from ~1:10 to 2:30 each season to see the changes? I still find it weird that your grass is green but a lot of your trees are leaf-less. It just looks odd. Though I do love seeing green grass in winter. Wishing you a fab weekend and an easy breezy week.

Hi, Cheryl. Lovely to hear from you, hope you are doing OK. Glad you enjoyed this walk. It is always nice to see the difference in a location which the change of season brings, especially when seeing a change from winter. I must confess I never thought about the grass being green still in the midst of winter. Does your grass not stay green in the winter?! The grass here often turns yellow in the height of summer. It is a bit breezy this weekend over here. Have a fab weekend Cheryl. Many thanks. ~ OAAW

@@OutandaboutWalking Hey OAAW~ Doing well here this weekend. Paying little attention to the outside world… I was paying attention to your world on my TV.😉 Our grass in winter here in the US Northeast is a mixture of green and brown. It used to be more brown when our winters were colder and we got more snow. For the last several years they have been warmer with more rain than snow, and our grass is less brown. Much windier now, all year ‘round than it used to be. I, too, like experiencing the changes here from one season to the next. They did used to be more definite and the transitions clearer. While I do miss shoveling dryer and lighter snow - it always seems fantastically beautiful when a storm ends and the sun comes out, I am happy to see the grass and pavement more. Though one thing I’ve noticed with your walks -probably because they are always in a different place, is how engaged and taken in by them I am. I feel comfortable walking around my neighborhood, but I am not immersed in my walks as I am in your walks. Go figure…. TTFN. 👋🏻

Hang on Sir☔, your description is precious, 100% adore your mishap confessions 😁. Another dovecote, and a walk thru of it, yeeha. Caught meself taking a deep sigh as we neared the ancient tree surrounded by snows--then I seriously wished I'd been born in Cotswold. Yikes, the street paint said S.L.O.W. but you sped up! 👮! Intriguing church window tresses. And yes, I caught that we circled it rightway vs leftway. Absolutely lovely Farmington be, it's birds fetching and captivating. Nice walk Sir🕶️, really! 🚶such a busy man, acting as ramp so folks can be tossing their trash. 🤍10:18 clever fence heightening, 10:43-11:21 snow falls at end of snow river, 15:57-16:54 🌂😲😅😂🤣 can't help it, 🌂🤣me funny bone lost control, 🌂🤣finally caged it at 19:01🌂😂🤣😅😁

Good day, L.J. Great to hear from you today ;). I kept thinking to myself…I’m sure there was something else I was supposed to of added to the description…your comment reminded me what it is was! I should of added why I went anticlockwise around the church, it was because across the road from the church there was a sizeable building which was undergoing renovations and was completely covered in white tarpaulin, I really didn’t want it to be seen in the video, so that was my reasoning for that. You nobbled me on the slow sign! :). Glad you enjoyed our Farmington walk. Enjoy the rest of your day. S.R ;

@@OutandaboutWalking Hello! Supposedly first day of 🌿Spring, cloudy-foggy-rotten humidity but trees well budded out especially the ones who "looked" dead from leaf scorch over non-rain/100+° summer. I knew they'd come back. Not so many others who sawed them down, bet they regret it.
