Pure water cleaning is an effective way to clean glass. There are numerous attachments and pads that will that will help you achieve spot-free results. I rarely use a ladder anymore. Great video!
What I love about window cleaning in UK and other places in Europe is how frequently they get their windows done. Here in Australia you’re lucky if they get them done more than twice a year. Every time I’ve had those leaded windows or faux French style windows and use WFP I’ve had to scrim the ghosting off after even with using a fully flocked brush and lots of rinsing.
Hey Ash. You can stop that problem of the ova 8 shafts from moving when clamped by simply undoing the clamps with an Allen key. Lifting the clamps up and going round twice where clamps were with electrical tape. Fixing clamps back into position over tape. I have done that with my ova 8 17 and it is like a brand new pole
That’s great, thanks! You shouldn’t have to really, but yeah, great fix. There is actually a new set of clamps coming in about a month that should sort this problem.😃👍🏼
Hi Ash Found about your videos through a friend Phil Hollier (not sure if you know him, or of him, as he may have been sent the video by someone else, guess your trending in the industry) anyway, I’m moving in to window cleaning myself to hopefully de-stress-ify my life a bit. Point being, is that your videos are top quality mate and very useful for those of us starting out! 👍🏼 Keep them coming! Dan
Another great video Ash but just to warn you that there is a point after a minute or so when you're reeling the hose back in that the blurring fails and you can clearly read the customers number plate, not sure if this could be an issue but just wanted to say just in case 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
So you didn’t use any squeegee? Just water cleaning solution rinse down and that’s it ? Won’t leave any marks on the window ? Keep up the great job mate
Nice video Ashley, a lovely mixed bag as the fishing fraternity say 🎣. Notice you had a shut off valve near your brush? Is that instead of the univalve? Haven't switched over to one yet, probably the only wfp user that hasn't.
Yeah, I know, it’s a bit old school. I put it on there to try it out ages ago and never swapped it. I’ve got a uni valve in a couple of my other poles.😃👍🏼
Hi Ash,a thanks for helping us new people, just a quick question I'm currently doing traditional window cleaning but am looking to getting into a pole system. Does the rain stop you from using the water pole system? Or can you just work all weather?
Yes, I like the 1.4 blue jets, but it depends on the type of glass. I don’t really get on every well with fan jets, but I do quite like a rinse bar.😃👍🏼
Nice video mate! Have you tried any of the 35cm brushes ? I use one every day now on my domestic work and love it! Do you know if you Can you remove sections off the ova-8 poles? I was thinking of buying the 22ft but I don't need the full length all the time 🤔
Yeah, you can take a couple of sections off the bottom if you want. I keep thinking that I should get a bigger brush for those big runs of bi-fold doors.😃👍🏼
Hi Ash, enjoyed the video as always. I noticed the window cleaned at 1.40 appeared to be hydrophobic as opposed to the windows at 13.45 for example. Was the rinse at 1.40 enough to leave a spot free finish as I have had lots of issues with spotting albeit very slight when using pencil jets. I was thinking of trying fan jets to see if that helps. Any advise on this would be appreciated.
Hi mate, Is it possible to make a full-time living doing only gutter clearing with extensive advertising? Is there work throughout the seasons? Thinking of getting the SkyVac Interceptor. Cheers
I have seen companies that just do gutter cleaning. I find that it’s busy for gutters in autumn/winter and busy for pressure washing in spring/summer, so those two probably go together quite well.😃👍🏼
Hi mate! It could be possible if your marketing is right. You don't need an expensive machine like that to start with. Buy a used quality one and get started and build up some customers. Cheers 🤙
hello mr makintosh. i am thinking of buying a pole fed system but do not currently have a driving liscence. my concern is that the distance between potential customers would be to great to do this as a job without transport. what advice would you give on this. are my concerns valid? thanks
I have seen window cleaners set up systems on a trailer for a bicycle. Where there’s a will there’s a way and if you are determined enough I’m sure you can find a way that works for you. Start close to home.😃👍🏼
Yeah, especially when it’s full of water, you really notice the difference in weight when you are having to drag it around all day. The other great thing with the 6mm hose is I can shut it in the back doors and lock the van if I want.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh Im needing a new 6mm hose soon, what is the brand of your yellow one as it looks like it doesn't kink too bad (or does it?)? Mine is shocking for twisting and cutting of the water when it knots. Thanks for the videos.
It’s pretty good stuff. On my new reel the hose came from window cleaning warehouse, on my previous reel it was from Varitech Systems, but I think it might be exactly the same stuff to be honest.😃👍🏼
Hi ashley have you located the belt tensioner on the reel? I cant seem to locate it. Also the screws on my switch came loose and rattled in the plastic red box that was nightmare getting them fixed back in.
Interesting video, when do you need to use soap or chemical product for cleaning ? (WFP is not efficient enough) : after more than 2 weeks without cleaning, too much pollution, sea salt brought by the winds (not in Northampton) ....
On first cleans and things like conservatory roofs I will usually use a soap solution to help break down the dirt. But as you saw in this video, the stiffer brush was enough to get the glass clean on that roof.😃👍🏼
Your arms going to be sore after that, i used a item like that in Sweden taking off branches beside powerlines, was a sawblade on the top... Remember them days was hard work, that seems simular hard work.
You now have over 10k views!! Put your hands deep in your pockets and buy yourself a 22 Gardiner xtreme or even 25. It’s a no brainer!! It’s a bit like electric reel or Manuel reel 🤔 or fillet steak or rump?? Or Ferrari or say bmw m3? Both nice cars but..... would you swop a Ferrari for a bmw? Sorry think made point! Buy an xtreme also can you update the sound track getting a bit 🥱
Thanks for your comments. Paul who works with me sometimes has recently got an Extreme 18. I was having a go with it the other day and it’s pretty good. I should get one.😃👍🏼
