I went to a boarding school in Camden from 1983-1985. We spent one year at the Boylan-Haven Mather Academy building. It was a nice little town back then and I still have fond memories of it today! South Carolina is a nice State with a lot of history. Thanks for the video.

We retired and moved to Florida. Because of the insurance going through the roof, we have decided to check out SC. Fell in love with Camden. Went to visit and bought a beautiful home. We are excited to call Camden home.

We stopped there on our way home to Kentucky from a trip to the Savanna area. Beautiful little town. About the size of our town. Enjoyed the video. Thanks

Im looking very actively right now and have some very good opportunities between Charlotte & Columbia for work. Im from way upstate on the Canadian border in NY State with a young family of 5. Its a dead, dying + done region in NY and the state seems intent to folow. We are looking for all the best thing in life we can grab ahold of and Im lost on where to go. I need help from anyone who is willing to share honest opinions. We love small city life with big city options within reasonable drive for daily life. Crime, Hosptality, Schools & local growth are my concerns but we are hell bent on making South Carolina our home!!!

The wife and I live in Phoenix. I love it out here, but when we decide to buy a house, and have kids, we don't see ourselves living in the desert. We both want somewhere green. I grew up in Camden. It's quiet. Hour and a half drive from Charlotte, a little under an hour to Columbia, and about 2 hours to the coast. You can find most things you need in Columbia. The downtown part of Camden, like along Broad/Littleton/Fair has some great green parks and shaded historic houses. It's very quiet and peaceful. There's river life nearby too. It's easy to get out to the middle of nowhere if you like too.

@@solankismithadventures I too am Camden refugee or Phoenix transplant...or both. I thought I was the only one. Makes me a little less homesick knowing there are others. Thanks for the wonderful video. FYI, while in high school I helped push my friends baby blue Ford Pinto up and down the hills and around the corners of your neighborhood. Good thing he ran out of gas with a car full of guys.

Camden is a great town, especially for kids. Its' downtown is starting to blossom but the town itself is still very quiet. It is very centrally located, being less than two hours from Charlotte, four from Atlanta, two to either Myrtle Beach or Charleston. Housing prices are still reasonable. I believe that in the coming years it'll become a bedroom community to Columbia, but still maintain its' small-town charm. It's full of history; being the oldest inland city in the state it has seen activity pre-dating the Revolutionary War. The Quaker Cemetery (which is still active today) dates from around 1750. It is also home to one of, if not, the richest steeple chase in the world, the Carolina Cup. I could keep going but I'm afraid to bore you.... Take a week or so and go check it out.
