Beautiful State. Loved here almost all of my life. Every place you selected is lovely but a wee bit bias towards the mountains. The lower outerbanks down to Emerald Isle, is amazing. Beaufort is incredible. Wild horses roam many of the islands, not just the northern. Carrot Island, Shackleford Banks have ponies, although their DNA shows they are full grown horses most likely from Spanish shipwrecks in the 1500 and 1600s. Incredible state.
@@susanr5967 hi, there are two - Beaufort NC, Beaufort SC. Beaufort NC (pronounced bow-fort) and Beaufort SC (pronounced bu-fert). Both are beautiful, quaint, coastal towns. I’m partial to Beaufort NC because I live in this area.
I live in Central NC. 3-4 hrs to the beach and 3 -4 hours to the mountains. 1 hr to Raleigh and less than 2 hrs to Charlotte. I went to the Outer banks a couple years ago. And going to the The Great Smoky Mountains and Cherokee this year. I love NC and think its a great state to live, but i haven't lived anywhere else in my 40+ years. I think ive been to all these places in this video. Wonderful!
@@sherryweems8579 Same with New Bern . They just had a One year old shot and killed in her car with her Father. . And it a City of only 30,000 . I love NC . Depends where you live.
You didn't mention the Cherokee Qualla Boundary (reservation) great museum, 1800's village, Unto These Hills out door summer preformance, Casino with Shows, fishing, camping, Native Crafts, and more, etc... Also close to Bryson City and the Railroad ride,Natahala National Forest, kayacking, camping, fishing, tubing, etc... and close to Gatlinburg TN and Dollywood, Pidgeon Forge ,TN Just come down the Blue Ridge Parkway to Cherokee. Hendersonville, NC the Labor Day weekend Apple Festival, Great shops, local brewery's and wineries, Flat Rock Playhouse (the state theater), Carl Sandburg Home, and guess what Chimney Rock State Park is only 15 miles from Hendersonville. Western NC is the place to visit.
Lexington NC rich history of textile and furniture manufacturing, still producing furniture. Home to the Lexington Barbecue, quiet neighborhoods, tree lined streets and busy Uptown Lexington’s shops, restaurants, pubs and development of the Depot District and a new High Speed Amtrak station ( construction begins soon) and home to the Bob Timberlake Gallery - southern Artist and Furniture designer! Lexington is minutes from Winston Salem/ Greensboro and less than an hour from Charlotte and the Charlotte Douglas Airport …
Agree lol seems like when you live there the less you adventure. I’ve been making sure every month the past year we go experience something new in our state & city of Winston Salem
I live in NC and Raleigh is nice but…boring the nightlife is sadly lacking. Charlotte should be the capital however, it also leaves something to be desired. But, the jobs and pay are worth all of the sleepy night life.
I loved my time in the USAF. I was at a remote site between Havelock and Morehead City. Best fishing ever, wonderful weather and beach girls! 45 years later and I still miss it.
Did You Know that North Carolina is the birthplace of Pepsi-Cola? The fact that Pepsi-Cola was invented in North Carolina is another intriguing fact about the state. North Carolina native and medical student Caleb Davis Bradham was an apprentice at a neighborhood pharmacy. He was obliged to discontinue his studies due to a personal emergency and return to New Bern, where he established his own pharmacy. He produced "Brad's drink," a beverage to help digestion, in 1893; it quickly gained popularity and eventually evolved into what we now know as Pepsi.
Went to NC a few weeks ago for the first time. Love the state. Stayed in Blowing Rock and explored around there while traveling west to Asheville and East to the Davidson/Cornelius area. Looking to go back in the Fall for foliage flying into Asheville. Any recommendations on towns to visit and stay in that area (Lake Lure, Chimney Rock State Park, Sylva, Cashiers). Looking for a town that is like an hour away from a major city but has a good downtown area with food, hiking trails, white water rafting, zip lining, parks/things to do, mountain living, etc).
I grew up in Greensboro NC and tell the Mrs I wish we still lived in the state (our home state of VA is nice too though). My siblings and I were taken repeatedly from one corner of the state to the other as a kid, so I have been to every place listed here. I might have included the NC Zoo and mentioned Boone with the Blue Ridge Parkway and Cherokee with the Smokies. Otherwise, it is a great list.
Don't tell many people! I live in an area that was voted best neighborhood one year and the developers swooped in and destroyed the neighborhood. Now, I'm getting out.
I don't know how you can afford it but god bless you. My wife and i are Retired Military and are planning moving to the East Coast of NC but probably can't afford there. We're 65 🙁.
@@projectkj7643 Sadly, most people are wanting to flock to the Southeast now. East Tennessee has been invaded like you wouldn't believe. We're all stacked up on each other now and it's awful. Lived here all my life and people from all over are moving here in droves but mostly from New York, New Jersey and California. It's ruined. Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina are getting hit really hard with millions of people descending daily. We're the new Florida.
At the 5:22 the narrator is talking about the Biltmore estate, but the clip is showing the Omni Grove Park Inn. I recommend making a lunch or dinner at the Omni Park Inn. Also, take a tour of the Biltmore Estate too. The Biltmore is at the 5:53 mark.
hello pam ,I am Jorge giacchetti from Lima Peru and a pilot working with the latam airlines..how are you and where are you from?write to me if you can and may God bless you.
Start with the Blue Ridge Parkway and try to take in a show at the Blue Ridge Music Center. Be sure you come early enough to tour the little blue grass museum. High elevation so it is chilly at night, even in August.
We love to have people visit but don’t try to change us. Enjoy our state but don’t be rude or abrasive. Please thank you yes ma’am no sir. Are all still used and appreciated. Kure beach is pronounced Cure E Come see us 😊
I wish to visit Great Smoky Mountains NP and Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall. Any suggestions what would be a good time frame to be there in NC? Thanks in advance.
Early October is best leaf color. The entire Parkway is great, but I particularly recommend the stretch from Asheville to Boone. Lively fun towns on both ends with breathtaking scenery in between. Hotels are expensive at that time though, especially in Boone if App State has a home football game in addition to all the fall color watchers.
If you haven't found Mount Pilot you don't know what you're missing. Plus don't forget the blue Ridge Parkway. There is just so much to see and do in the whole state of North Carolina. Just saying from Michigan
I love north Carolina so much I was stationed there for 4 years and working to get back in the military hope to be stationed there cause I'm gonna move there
I adore my home state! This could easily be a top 100 destinations for there are SO many beautiful sights all across The Old North State. Great highlight video! Gotta shout out to all our NC festivals and diverse music genres as a major highlight we are certainly blessed with! Some may say it comes from the Sweet Tea Suga! Y'all come back now ya hear~
You can't go wrong with any of these 10 places!! North Carolina is a GORGEOUS State from the breathtaking views of the mountains to the beach and the big cities in-between!!!! ❤❤❤
There’s crime & stuff EVERY area but gotta pick the good parts is all. We live in Winston Salem & have no trouble but within 8-10 miles always something these days
I've been to half of these. This video has inspired me to go back. Beautiful mountains and coast. I found the people to be friendly and hospitable too.
Can’t believe you did not mention Pinehurst area. Great area, Cradle of American Golf. Soon to be home to a USGA Site, Golf Hall of Fame and one of the anchor courses for the US Open. Also beautiful horse country.
NC is the furniture capital of the world High Point, NC and boring like a dark cloud hovering over the city (my spiritual gift).... Durham Bulls Baseball Team, in Durham and The Durham Arts Theater... Jacksonville has a beach also. High Point has a baseball Team, called the HP Rockers....Greensboro has a baseball team, and The Boston House of Jazz Club, and a Natural Science Center. Raleigh has a State Fair every year. The Carolina Panters used to have a football field in Charlotte, but not sure if they still do. The mountains in Hickory & Asheville are nice. Several places are growing with a few things to do in different cities in NC, on a yearly basis. I love Cary, Mebane and Mooresville, they are nice. They are not too congested, with traffic.
North Carolina actually has TWO state fairs, the first one being the Western North Carolina State Fair in Fletcher (south of Asheville), in early September.
The Panthers are still here but getting too woke for my taste so I don't go to the games anymore. It is pretty cool how the whole city is lit up in Panther blue for night games.
Beautiful places. Too bad it’s on the East coast. It would’ve certainly attracted Chinese tourists. Going from China to USA is like traveling back in time, going from 21st century to 20th century, there are so many natural scenes to adore, thanks to the ancestors of this land.
My children is living Babu in Raleigh papa Charlotte we are this places is also seeing last July summer vacation My Husband and I am so happy Places so super superb 👌

#11 Braxton Bragg mansion, museum and property. Situated on 200 acres of land it allows a tour of the 6000 sq ft home of the general and the adjoining museum, gift shop and restaurant which serves period food with Southern charm the gardens are beautiful in the Spring and Summer.
moved to hampstead n.c. , it is the seafood capital of the carolinas, and just love it here and we are ready to dtart exploring the state, actually going to blowing rock and ashville next week.the people here are very friendly and respectful.your video is amazing, thanks.
I did my Christmas shopping in Blowing Rock. There’s shops with local pottery, candles, and the The Mountain Thread Company if you like quilting & crafts. Also, Camp Coffee is a local coffee shop with good coffee. (My special favorite is their Everything and the Kitchen sink cookie).
We are moving to Wilmington soon from Newport, VT near the Canadian Border. Reasons: family, (some family is already there with more to come) ocean, weather, access to stores. Can hardly wait!!!
I’m a Canadian who, over decades, has enjoyed - even loved - NC. However, the more I experienced it, the more divisive politics and explicit/tacit racism and intolerance has kept me away. There’s wonderful people there and Southern hospitality is real. Hope things improve, I truly do.
@@katiel1979 Not sure what I have to get over, I’ve always found the South a fine place with fine people. But, recently I’ve found something (the divisive politics?) has emboldened the underbelly. Maybe the hate has always been there, but I’ve heard more overtly racist and generally hateful comments than ever. Anyway, don’t want to offend anyone; best to live and let live . . . right?
With the exception of Biltmore Estate, Asheville has become the "San Francisco" of the East Coast, with liberal policies making it the choice of homeless and drug users. One is accosted by beggars on most street corners, open drug users at the downtown intersection, and 200% increase in crime in the past two years (policie department was significantly 'defunded.') A better choice for visits would be Cashiers, Highlands, or Black Mountain.

Not gonna lie. As a Texan, NC does look highly appealing Im sorta stuck down here in Houston for the foreseeable future sadly. But, if I ever end up with feds chasin' after me (God almighty forbid) or smth. Then NC would prolly be my go to state. The Elizabeth City area is especially beautiful
