Adam Buck and I tried to beat the heat by heading north to Duluth. It wasn't much cooler but we got to ride some great trails.

Kristofer Yahner I enjoyed the return green trail at Lester park last year. Super flow!

I gotta get back out to Duluth to re-ride Piedmont. I remember loving parts of it and hating parts of it.

It can be tough to put together a good loop there because the sections are short but the more I ride there the more I like it.

Either Keene or Hawk Ridge to Amity West, depending on conditions.

Duluth has had a bunch of new trails built in past year that are worth checking out.

Besides the cool riding at about 3:17/3:18 you caught a monarch butterfly swooping right in front you. That was pretty amazing.

I grew up north of you in Thunder Bay ONT. I have been to Duluth may times as a kid. I have been living and riding in BC Canada for 30 years now. I am really impressed by what you and your crew have done for the scene in the Duluth area. I will definitely bring my bike next time I visit my family in T Bay and come and check out Duluth.

Well I can’t take any credit for it. That’s for advocates like Hansi Johnson, event promoters like Max Fierek, all the people at www.coggs.com and a bunch of other people that I don’t even know about. But you’re right the scene and trails in Duluth are really really fun! Best place to ride a mountain bike in Minnesota, that’s for sure.

I wish I would have watched this again before I went up there. I kind of get in my head on certain features and after watching people do them, they feel more accomplishable. I do think you are right though, it's hard to push yourself when you are riding alone.
@KrisYahner
@KrisYahner 5 лет назад
That only works for me if I see the someone ride something in person. If I see a video on the internet, I'm always, "Yeah, I could ride that." Then I see the feature in person and it's big NOPE! Haha!

3:15 rad butterfly. Dude, Adam is a sender! Floating around like gravity doesn't apply to him. That bit at 6:30. I remember passing through that area and skipping over some of the fun-yet-gnarly looking shit and couldn't make heads or tails of what area I was in. Couldn't tell at that point if it was Piedmont or Brewer. I really gotta get back up there. 8:48 fun transition! I felt teleported.

Yeah, that Adam Buck is a ripper for sure. Piedmont can get a little confusing but there is a ton of fun stuff up there. I haven't ridden it all yet.

@@KrisYahner was most of that at one location or were you guys hopping around?
@KrisYahner
@KrisYahner 5 лет назад
Pretty much one location. We parked between Keene Creek and Lollygagger. Rode Keene and then pedaled over to Piedmont. It's all kind of in the same area.

So I can see a lot of effort went into this video. A lot of good stuff. I honestly have mix opinions on the vlog style. Mostly because I hate turning a ride into a photo shoot. This was a pretty epic day though and the video turned out great. BTW is that a Bronson?
@KrisYahner
@KrisYahner 6 лет назад
Thanks for the feedback! I know what you mean about turning a ride into a photo shoot, but I find that it gives me an excuse to session parts of the trail I want to learn a little better. The bike is a Nomad. I had a first gen Bronson and I loved it but I wanted something a little bigger that I could travel with and ride everything from big climbs to bike parks and that bike fits the bill. I did however buy a steel 29r hardtail to keep things interesting on the metro trails.

Hey Kris, did you guys park by Keene creek and ride all the way back to the car?
@KrisYahner

That video was made several years ago but if memory serves we parked between lollygagger and Keene, rode down Keene and then back up Keene.

what bikes are those
@KrisYahner
@KrisYahner 4 года назад
I was riding a Santa Cruz Nomad. Adam was riding some kind of Specialized but I'm not sure which one. Stumpjumper maybe.
