Oh my gosh, how fun! My friend and I were in Longyearbyen on June 1 and met Christoffer and Grim outside the grocery store. We were totally star struck in meeting Christoffer but focused on Grim because we were so nervous! Christoffer was very kind and tolerant of us interupting his day and we got the biggest kick out of the whole thing. My friend, Lynne, has been the subscriber but I am subscribing right now! I remember in the beginning he was just a phantom. Someone you would see running away from the camera and definitely not talking it. I have found him to be generally fascinating from the beginning and I'm so excited that he is in front of the camera more often. Yay!

Norway is very beautiful! I spent 2 years there 1960-1962-my time spent in Oslo, Drammen, Bergen and Trondheim. My maternal grandparents immigrated to the U.S. in 1900, so grew up hearing my mother and grandmother speak Norwegian, but they would not teach us the language. When I came home I worked for an airline and was able to take my parents to Norway very cheaply-$99 a peace round-trip. We rented a car in Oslo, and I drove them to Bergen. The language came back to my mother, but everyone except the people in the high mountains spoke English, so my dad loved it and was included in our conversations. Without doubt, Norway is one of the most beautiful countries on earth!!! I remember the Norwegians saying of the Danes that they could stand on their knees and see their whole country-not so with Norway! I have to say, though,that the short days in the winter were hard for me to take. My hat is off to you for being able to thrive in the darkness of winter. My language became good enough, that the people in Oslo thought I was from Oslo because of my accent. Sadly, I have forgotten so much of the language but use it creatively for my passwords. I am giving my grandkids tours through Norway via RU-vid sites. They need to see what beauty they come from! Liked your ice bath Cecelia. I used to go to the sauna at the bath house and jump in the cold vat afterwards-refreshing! You can’t feel the cold after spending a good amount of time in the sauna. However, doing it like you would be more than I could do! Thank you for your site!
