This footage was taken from my last day before christmas operating Hythe signal box. I hope you guys had a lovely christmas and have a very happy 2024.
What a fascinating frame! Am I right in thinking that the lift-handles at the front serve the same purpose as the catch handles at the top of most frames, and that the single blue lever is a locking lever that locks all points in position unless reversed? (And presumably that then requires all signals to be held at danger)?
Yes that is right. I belive it is the original frame back from the early days. The blue lever is the facing point lock and yes you cannot have a signal lever out of the frame if you want to use the FPL.
Those radios sound very unpleasant. Are they digital? They sound very robotic/difficult to discern. Also, what is going on at 20:34? Why is the loco following a train so closely - shouldn't it be waiting in a different section?
