I've flown single engine civilian aircraft and trained in simulators. Control and instrument set ups can be the same but visual perception is different and of course you don't have the seat of your pants physical inputs when flying a drone. I think the transition from physical flight to drone would be easier than drone to physical flight. Somebody can correct me but I believe all military drone pilots have some actual training in manned aircraft.

@@pmh1nic in my opinion having licenses in both aircrafts , flying by yourself in a aeroplane is much harder .

@@Sonasic It depends on what the criteria for fulfilling the mission is, and the platform being flown on, whether something is harder or not. All military pilots get training in some manned aircraft, at least. From then, it starts to diverge based on specialty. The personal danger is much higher in manned aircraft. However, the danger to others is much higher in an RPA. In manned aircraft, you can feel pitch changes, stick shaking, etc. You can't with an RPA. Flying RPA's a half a world away, you are flying into the future/past due to the satcom video lag/delay. Manned aircraft feedback is instantaneous. Killing from an RPA is often personal as the pilot can establish a pattern of life on an individual...more akin to an air sniper. A manned pilot usually fires from too high an altitude and/or at too fast an airspeed to know much about the target that was hit. Often the target was lased for them. All of those elements, and more, add different attributions to making the mission harder/easier. All I can say is that military pilots in both manned and unmanned aircraft are highly trained, intelligent, and skilled at their roles.
