Smack dab in the middle of the pandemic! But it's been a great change :)

HAHAHA I think I was unsure of the combination....but it was fried chicken and steak!

I’m also an educator major! Here is something that could help! For elementary, you have to be comfortable teaching every subject unless you are focusing on a one subject side (like gym teacher, music teacher, art teacher, etc). Meaning, you have to lesson plan for all. Kids can either be your favorite blessing or a curse. A lot of energy for sure and patience. Some have no filter and will tell you what’s on their minds! 😂 Middle school can be a lot of fun! Or a pain. It’s the puberty stage where preteens are awkward yet some feel grown. Many love to argue (and psychology states is great for their brain development!). They have the curiosity to still learn. Because they’re young, it’s easy to change their perspective sometimes. The subjects tend to be more lenient as well. I’ve heard many good things about 6th grade! Keep in mind sometimes their academics won’t be their priorities because they’re exploring relationships, friendships, and all that stuff. Also, they usually laugh at cheesy lines like “69” or “420”. Sometimes the word “duty” 😂 High school is interesting. The students are older and have a sense of responsibility and autonomy. They learn how to drive, have jobs, etc.they relate more to you now. You can speak on topics that you couldn’t to the younger students. This is where their education gets more serious. Especially for SAT/ACT testing for college. Their minds aren’t as easy to change. A lot of them won’t feel excited to learn. Some will put their heads down or not pay attention. However, it’s exciting to see them graduate and see what they did with their lives. Some universities have their education programs based on giving you experience within your grade curiosity. Others don’t. I’d ask before you go into elementary or secondary education. They’re very different programs. Best of luck!

Oops! Forgot to mention in elementary you usually have the same kids. Around 30 or less. In middle school and high school, you get different periods with different students. So around 100-130 depending on your school
