@@enjo8351 lol everyone is different, I go to a ghetto school, and I get up at 4 to get all of my stuff situated. I'm a military brat so it's hard for one person to take care of the other 4 people in the house. It's different for everyone lol
Am I the only one that doesn't find this school weird. I live in the US currently and yeah we hear about the occasional fight or kid vaping but for the most part its pretty peaceful.
In my opinion, this is way to wonderful. I'm Spanish, and mi high school... Is kinda shitty. We don't have even a half of that classes, like, we just seat in silence hoping the day to end, this was so pretty to me and I'm realizing how bad the educational system is here-
Same, i go to a quite famous school here in a crowded city (since people usually say schools in cities usually has those bullies, snobby rich kids etcc) but tbh what she experiences here is exactly what i experience everyday as well except for the fact that we're usually just to busy cramming every last minute lmao.. our school is quite peaceful, we're all close as well ^^
@@I-hate-youtube797 it really just depends on the school (i live in a populated city and our school is kinda famous here).. i have a friend who just transferred last year and said that our school is kinda "weird" unlike her previous school.. her school was divided into groups unlike ours where its kinda rare to see anyone alone since you can easily befriend anyone lmao.. we stay in school 9 hours a day and is flooded with projects so we barely even have the time to pay attention to others or to our appearance (bullying has never really occured here cause school is making us all look like rags lmao)
@@ladychips aww.. don't worry hun, you can give your kids this experience, even if it's not the same, but you'll feel all the more satisfied :). And on the bright side, you'll carry the memories of schooling with your fellow people, culture, family etc. Which is something that you'll cherish forever
Yep It's really nostalgic for me Since My dad side of the family lives on a small town like this in Texas (except snow) And whenever we go down there I always feels so at peace and get to see we many neighboring people that we know again
I live in North America and this was pretty normal from day to day. But I think what makes the video so special is seeing it from the eyes of someone who is new to the American culture and being so immersed by it. I realize its the same refreshing feeling that I get whenever I watch an exchange video in China or Japan and it really makes you appreciate the world around you.
As an american I'm glad for her that she was in a good school (at least that's what she wanted us to see in the video).. So many chaotic schools here, makes me think i was born in the wrong side of the country..
Are u from a big city? Because i see that many people who complain about their schools are from big cities 😂 here in smaller cities(under 250k people) school can be fun and dope
@@xhafts my town and school were tiny and the schools were horrible. The middle school had like 200 kids and was terrible and was like one of the worst in the state by fact...
@@marihi2387 yep its the rural schools that are the worst, as bad as the inner-city ones. at least in cities theres magnet and charter public schools. In poor rural ones like mine they can't even afford to fix the roof when it leaks, there's just giant tarps basically, with a pipe running outside. Or there's a class where we turn the heater on and off with a pair of scissors, and the teacher would let everybody sit on the heater bc its so cold. Those kinds of things are common in my school system...this looks rural, but nice. You can kind of tell, the fact that they have a tennis team is one red flag, the mom had zero stress so that's another. I do like the community of small schools tho, and knowing everybody absolutely. In poor school districts you go one step further, you know all the people at the grocery store and coffee shop because they're your fellow students🤩🤩 gotta love a country that divides each school system by the tax brackets of the area, thus leaving poor districts poorer and rich districts richer
@@Matthew-fj6eu Kalo di Indonesia mah santuy aja deh kayaknya? Muridnya pada santuy, jadi rasanya kurang kompetitif. Karena kurang kompetitif jadinya pada malesan. Dan ditambah guru yg ngajarinnya kurang menyenangkan/menarik. Jujur. Iri banget sama sekolah luar begini 😁
c a s s That’s the way it was in my old school. We didn’t have the time to get a different textbook from our lockers in the middle of our 4-5 minute transition between classes. 😂
I'm still trying to get over the fact that there are people that have breakfast in the morning before school. I would usually wake up, get ready, and have breakfast at school, or wait till lunchtime.
Why was I so excited to watch this when I’ve lived in America all my life I guess it is just neat to see someone from another country - like how it is to them
I'm an American studying in a different country. There is a huge difference especially in infrastructure, how students interact with eachother and with their teachers. As well as how they teach. In Asia, studying is mostly by memorization. The why, and sometimes the how is not as emphasized
She has more friends than me and she’s an exchange student wtf 😭😭😭 Edit: I just started high school and it changed everything for me including having friends 😄
@- shatteredgalaxy america is such a huge place. there are so many different things you can show when showing 'america'. there's lots of bad, but there's lots of good, there's lots of this. geographically speaking it's almost all this (with variance in biome type but not beauty). most of the population lives in cities though which is just a completely different type of place that i have no experience living in
I love the fact that she is taking in all of the culture and enjoying every bit of it. I love how friendly she is with others and how she try’s to enjoy her life in America! Overall I love seeing other people from different backgrounds and cultures thrive in America. I mean our country was built off of culture and diversity.
its nice seeing how she is influenced and her influencing her school in her daily life this is so cute and wholesome. partly do to her school being so dope and chill.
Currently I'm an exchange student in Japan and I haven't started school yet... I'm so scared that I can't communicate well with my schoolmates and my dormmates.. I don't know how to speak well in Japanese too...I just..scared about people point of view about me if I did smthg wrong or stupid.. Huarghh 😓
It’s okay!!! That’s what you’re there for! To learn! You’ll take on so many lessons on this experience and at least when you go back you’ll have a story to tell! Goodluck!!!
Heyy I’m starting my exchange to japan in a week!! I’d like someone to talk to about it if you’re up for it! What part of japan are you in? I’m in a town about 3 hours south of Osaka 🤗
I’ve gone to school in America my whole life and I’ve never heard of a flower class. I’m glad you got to have such a unique and beautiful American experience. Proud of my country.
My high school had a senior only plant class, we just learned some simple stuff about nature, hung out outside, it was really chill. Good for stressed out seniors lol
This really showed how beautiful high school is and all I can say is that I really took my time in high school with all my friends for grated. Wish I can just go back and experience it with a more optimistic attitude. ugh this video made me feel so nostalgic and happyyy
A lot of the comments are saying how their school only consists of kids who juul and fight, but you dont see any of that here because she doesnt surround herself with those types ofvpeople. There are kids like that EVERYWHERE, it's just who you choose to be around. :))
my school is filled with people screaming and cursing and fighting the teachers in the hallways. you cant escape it sometimes. theres always food fights in the cafeteria and theres so much bullyimg
actually really true. i went to a school in the more ghetto part of town. i surrounded my self with the kids who wanted to learn and focused on their education. we had simple middle school years. we had a lot of fun together. we heard in the background about fights and drama, but we were never involved in it. really true.
Id say, my friends dont really have very healthy way of life and they curse a lot, but theyre very nice, ive known them for so long and i love them so much, although many people tell me to get new friends, friends that are better influences
I agree, all of my classes were honors so all the kids in those classes just wanted to learn and get it over with. Occasionally, we would hear kids screaming and yelling about fights but that had nothing to do with them so they’d ignore it. I’d say middle school was pretty peaceful for me.
What the heck why everyone so friendly in this school and even the teachers bro? Like WTH lol. But thankfully this year I have some really nice teachers but the last period teacher yeah not so sure about that 🤣
Me: ok just go to sleep like 10:30 you can wake up early and feel really nice the whole day having gotten sleep My Body: stay up until 1am watching other people go to school and then get really rushed and look like a mess
this video makes me so incredibly sad. I've always wanted to spend a year in another country to go to school and experience life there but it was way too expensive. It just seems like an amazing experience and I wish I had the opportunity you had. but I'm so happy for you and all the other badass exchange students out there who spent a year in a completely different country. I hope you're having a great time xx
Have you looked into being an au pair? It's basically being a nanny for about 6months to a year and all you have to pay is the plane ticket and you receive a weekly stipend. Definitely not for everyone, but it's a thought!
Daniel D i had it, and it sucked theres seems fun, but mine was literally oNLY notes even though it was floral design, it was seriously just notes it really sucked
I'm just gonna say it but you and Michael are so cute together. Edit: don't let this comment make it weird for you and him, I'm sorry if there's nothing there.
Teachers here are more opened opinion and have more freedom of speech i guess, Its normal for teachers to say stuff about or to their students Throughout living in America I have seen my fair share of stuff... One time it was halloween and my teacher was a werewolf with plastic chains around him and he told this girl if she didnt behave and didnt stopped getting up her seat he would chain her leg to the seat and she started crying lol but he had to aplogize and i felt bad for my teacher because he was just trying to be funny
†JΔE † Woah you really went in depth there lmaoo. The original comment was just repeating what a teacher actually said in the video cause they thought it was funny. It had nothing to do with freedom of speech or anything like that lol
@@fenty2331 i wasnt answering to the original comment, someone asked how American teachers are allowed to say that without consequences, i guess they deleted their comment because I also tagged them
This video is wonderful. It's good that you have the opportunity to study abroad on an exchange pragram. I can't believe that it takes so long to get used to snowy weather. Although growing up in Taiwan, I do wanna live in a north country for winter. The setting of classrooms is so different from Taiwan, they look better with the decoration of teachers' preference. The food sold in the student canteen must be a big challenge cuz it's cooked in a totally different way. Cheers.
Omg their classes are so sophisticated wish I had those at my school And omg they're allowed to move so freely about. Eat lunch in classroom? Get to hang at the library before first class? What?
my school was all grades and in high shool we only had one floor and 2 min to get to class before getting in trouble.... and we couldnt leave campus or order food even in senior year
@@EagleEyedSheLion I live in this region and the house is middle class. The doctors, attorneys and accountants have 5-600 square meter homes with pools and private theaters with projectors.
At my school, in America, there is a korean exchange student and a spanish exchange student who r dating. They have been dating for 2 years now and r soooooooo cuuuute!!!
@@macky1376 our school doesn't even have a cafeteria. The sport room is 1 km away from our main school. There is no library. The school is 90 years old, the rooms are grey. The school rooms are depressing. Everything is sterile. No colours only grey on white and you can't do anything in your breaks besides talking and standing. German schools suck ass
@@Sophiaa-tm2dz my teachers say, that ,,if i survive 45 minutes without drinking, you all can do it too'' but there's schools, where teachers say ,,a human body can live without water for 3 days. you're not gonna die''
Tbh the exchange program are usually in schools that are good, I moved around a lot during high school and noticed we only had exchange program in schools that are safe (tbh rich) neighborhoods, while in the Hispanic, black neighborhoods, no high school offered exchange program. I didn’t really mean to bring race into it, but it really is a factor in my own experience.
Haruhi Chan - Doesn’t matter that you brought race into it, it does matter that you insinuated that Black/Hispanic/etc neighborhoods are not rich and/or safe. That’s just how I took your comment.
@@hailee176 it was just my experience when I moved around. I grew up in a poverty black neighborhood, moved into a rich white neighborhood for a couple months, then moved into a Hispanic neighborhood for 2 years.it's true which is not fair compared to the white school I went to bc it had less opportunities and the Hispanic school was so overcrowded nobody cared about education we all just cheat off each other. and fyi I'm mixed black and Hispanic😂😂 literally everyone knows how bad the schools are in certain black/Hispanic neighborhoods but that doesnt always insinsuite negative ideas, sometimes that's just the life it is (this is MY personal experience)
If an exchange student went to a ghetto school, then they would hate it. That's just how it is. That's why these types of schools in those communities don't have exchange programs or other stuff like that.
This video made me so happy to see you getting along with your classmates and teachers. when I was in high school there were a few exchange students and they only stayed for a short time, I just wanted to talk to them and make them feel comfortable, but i didn’t speak their language. I could tell they were uncomfortable with English which made me sad because I couldn’t speak their language
I really like nice people and peaceful live as we see in this video it's so relaxing in a different way while watching this it's really wholesome to change like this
@@ASHERUISE But they're real people. And the comments could make them feel awkward around each other, especially if Michael or Mito was dating another person. You don't realize that these arent characters, they're real people with actual lives that can get hurt.
I'm from America and honestly shocked by this video?? Never heard of a school in the US that teaches Floriculture and leadership, even as electives, unless you went to a special trade school like BOCES on the side. Also the genuine peaceful atmosphere of the school and how many lounge areas their where? Not to mention being allowed to study for her other classes during class. My schools teachers would have paused the entire class to yell at you for that one.
