Thanks for sharing this, Theres an old Samoan saying "E te fiu e saili solo se mea e malie ai lou loto ae ia e manatuaina e te maua lava i lou aiga" (True Happiness can be found right inside your HOME, no matter how hard it is, you look for it anywhere else in this world) stay safe, stay simple, God Bless.
These are both beautiful ❤️ And they make me want to become fluent in Samoan. Family is and has always been our first priority. As long as we keep it that way, we can be happy no matter what. 💗
Guardrails and groceries! Didn't have much of either when I lived there in 1968-70, but when I saw "flower pot rock" (what my family called it) at 4:10 I almost cried for the nostalgia. In all my years and miles of travel I've never loved any place more.
One of the best places to raise your kids, I wholeheartedly agree that you all made the right choice to move to Tutuila. If anything, as your kids get older and you decide to move at least you can feel accomplished for giving your kids the gift of experiencing the simple life.
love your video. Its great to see my village Nuuuli here. I have to say I love seeing a palagi woman on a lavalava. Oh and what a beautiful family. Very awsome. Again thank you.
I would so join you if I were there.what a beautiful run. Also when you guys said your prayers I got teary eyed coz that’s literally what me and my family do. It’s also so true how material things don’t make a person truly happy it’s family and your loved ones.
My daughter used to work at SPW. She said she knows you all! She told me on some 5k run a little while back, you helped and a friend with some running techniques. Thank you for that!!
ohhhh i enjoyed today's vlog. i miss riding in the back of our trunk in samoa with only 25 speed limit.. the fresh air . love your day in life. i just really miss samoa. and i really love tutuila green salad they are the best and the bom i 100percent recommend it. I am also a member i was in the pago west stake pavaiai 2nd ward. love how your family gather and say a small scripture such an inspiration for me in the future. happy early holidays from your tacoma fan. i would be so happy if it possible for you guys to vlog the christmas lights whenever you guys are planning to go see the lights.please

Subscribed! I know how interesting to live on the islands. I'm currently in the states and still planning on moving back home to the islands. I'm missed the freedom and the relaxation life. A.S. is very lucky to have an Economist working and taking care of their gov't. Talofa!
Wow. There’s a sidewalk on the ocean road now? It’s probably been there a while (I left in ‘77 and have only been back three times, the last for my mom’s funeral in ‘02). I really miss riding everywhere in the back of a pickup. I learned to drive on my dad’s Toyota Hilux stick shift in 1974. Hard to get in trouble driving when you can only go 20mph!
Great videos, I mention it to some of the Samoans living in New York and other parts of the country about sam fam, glad to see your family enjoy paradise, even though the humidity, hope to visit again when boarders opens up again, bless year to the fam. Aloha from Hawaii.
I loooove this! I love your playlist! I usually listen to my rap, Tupac, Biggie Smalls,SNOOP Dogg as loud as I can with the bass on +5 when I am riding solo. I am still gangster, even with toddlers 😂👐🏾
Love your work! Your lifestyle is the true lifestyle there. I miss it. I can relate. Miss running from Nuuuli to Matafao on the side walk. 👍🏼 I listen to R&B in the 80s and 90s when I drive around. 🙂
My stomping grounds. I live all the way at the back in the green and white House after the gate, we’re the second to the last house in coconut point. Just spoke to my mom and she said she ran with you. Thank you for showing my beautiful village. I’m bringing my husband and son to visit my parents and my siblings in a month. Can’t wait to come home!! 😭❤️
Your time is wisely invested, take care and great vid. I’ll check out the singer- songwriters you mentioned. If they’re anything like Joni Mitchell I’m sure I’ll love them. I’m a kickback to the old 60s, 70s, 80s music. No specific genre, heck I didn’t even know there were genres growing up. Was until my late teens before I found out the differences between country, rock, soul, R&B, etc., ignorance is bliss. Lol Soifua
Haha, I didn’t know about music genres for the longest time either. Growing up, my mom had a Carole King record that I couldn’t get enough of. Recently, I realized that my taste in music definitely reminds me of that 😊
@@AmSamFam Carol King, Joni Mitchell, Karen Carpenter, were a few of the female singer-songwriters I listen to still. What amazes me was they're vocals, they never had the the electronic enhancements they have today. Soifua
Now I see why you live in American Samoa!! What a beautiful beach run!! You’re definitely blessed!! Keep up the good job, and please keep posting.. thanks you for sharing your beautiful home island. Tofa.
Matafao was my elementary school growing up,I always stopped by to get German buns at Amy's bakery back than before school. Hehe... .I've seen alot of changes there in ASAMOA since I left 2007..Great Vids guys. Hope you guys stay longer there a place I call Home.
Very cool! Did you know they tore Amy’s bakery down a few months ago? They’re rebuilding something in that spot, although I’m not sure if it’s going to be the same thing or something completely different.
Talofa AmSamFam, I enjoyed watching yalls vids. I miss home so much. Y’all have a great and safe holidays back home. Covid needs to go away so everyone can come back home visits fams and loved ones. 🤙🤙
Being Samoan myself…I absolutely love how open you both are in your journey through the beautiful land where I was born and raised varying years of my life as a young person. You also pronounce SAMOA soooo beautifully!!! Keep up with these wonderful videos that my husband and our daughters enjoy so much!! ALOFA aku! Fa’asoa/Tom/Carissajean & Christinagrace!
We don't have much in Samoa but we appreciate and enjoy the simple life. Love when you rock tthat ie lavalava...... Check it out Luke Comb: When it rains it pours!! 🤘
Talofa family! I just became a subscriber on your channel after I stumbled on your video on how you ended up in American Samoa. I was born and raised in American Samoa and I left for college in 2004 and haven't been back since. I must say, watching your videos makes me homesick, but most of all made me realized how much I took for granted growing up there. Thank you for sharing with us your lives on the island. You have a beautiful family and thank you for reminding me how beautiful my home island is. Fa'afetai tele lava. Alofa atu. ❤
O 4 Orsum. I can see how the daily work out routine can help the obesity pandemic among American Samoans and peoples across the Pacific. Staying healthy, by having an active daily routine are generally seen as for the youth, and undignified for grown ups. But obesity, diabetes, heart and organ failure are too real to ignore. Good on you and your man. God bless you and your 'Aiga. Soifua ma outou Manuia!
Wow, I’ve never considered that exercise could be undignified for adults… I hope that impression is changing, because you’re right, these health problems are worth fighting. Thanks for your words.
You look like a FOB Samoan lady doing your home chores at home while your family’s away. I love you guys.....my only hope is that your family finds and befriends a Samoan family so you could really be closed and enjoy the bond of having family members with you. Families living together and sharing family land and family wealth is at the core and center of the Fa’aSamoa.
I was born in W.Samoa and now living in Australia but I do miss the island life.. ridding at the back of the Ute is better than any theme park rides....
Love Call the Midwife👍Great seeing how your day went. Would love to know how the children are enjoying their school and how it compares to their previous school in the states. Those Tutuila Greens look delicious! I think you are very intrepid running in that heat. Well done👍😊
3 dislike on here because they didn’t eat their greens..lol much alofa.I listen to Sheryl Crow and Beyoncé to start my day and when I feel like I want to take over the day ..🌺🎄
This has been my favorite episode so far. I love the beauty of your island home, but the day to day, every day living looks and feels so different from a holiday or vacation stay. This is a good perspective for anyone who is thinking about moving and living there full time.
Yes! That’s exactly what I was hoping to show. It’s one thing to visit a place for a few days and do all the fun touristy things, but living in a place can be so different. Life in American Samoa isn’t perfect, but we love this island life we’ve built here ❤️
It’s been a while since I’ve watched one of your videos. I felt so nostalgic seeing the kids going to school, going down that same road back and forth. Good job on the run. The only thing that kills me are the dogs, and the humidity...other than that, another awesome video. Thank you for sharing.
Those definitely both make running more difficult. It took a couple years for my body to fully acclimate to the point that I didn’t feel like the humidity was going to kill me each time I went out for a run and I’m always very aware of any dogs I come across.
I use to run that same route every morning back in 2009 when I came down for family funerals due to the tsunami. Being in the military running became a lifestyle.
Yassss the Ie lava lava tho, love it!.love it fams. Thank you for taking us with you. Blessing upon you both & the kids. Alofa atu fams frm Seattle Nei💕
Enjoyed this video. I love the the prepackaged foods by Tutuila Greens. Do they have vegetarian options besides just a salad? Thank you for sharing your daily routine with us.
Get it girl!!! Watching this one made me teary eyed..missing home . You’re an inspiration ,you can build a women running team there. You would inspire many there. I love it.Mommie’s job is on going 24/7.Girl powa!!!
You eat pancakes with a spoon to scoop up the syrup.. You need peanut butter to go with those bananas...or peel and freeze them, then dip in chocolate. Bananas are a universal snack food. Eat as is , or doctor them up some. The " real life" video idea is great... No hot water? You have lots of sunlight...get one of those solar camper's showers
Haha, I never thought of it that way. We’re lucky to be in a place where you can get local, freshly harvested bananas year round. We like to freeze them when they start getting to old and then throw them in fruit smoothies 🤤 But I love them with peanut butter too.
