Captured a slice of life in the West Village 👌

Except for a perhaps too-long view of dinner and dessert, you have done a fine job capturing a beautiful visual of the streetscapes and action in the West Village. I encourage you to continue to hone your filmmaking craft by continuing to film as much and as often as possible. Practice makes perfect as the adage goes. Here's to seeing more of you in the future. I wish I could take you and your viewers back to the time when this area of NYC was my residence and stomping ground so that you can see how much and how little the neighborhood has changed since then. That was way back from 1970 to 1972. After graduating from high school in 1969, in 1970 a high school alumna and NBC producer, Gioanna Nigro, managed to get me a month-long gig painting animation cells for a filmmaker friend. I stayed with him and his partner just on the edge of the West Village at 60 W. 13th Street. Although I had lived in Brooklyn the year before, this was my first time residing in Greenwich Village. It would be only a year later that I would have my own apartment at 80 Thompson Street in Little Italy. Yes, it was very much Little Italy at that time. Growing up in Morris County, New Jersey, I never had the unique experience of waking up and having my morning coffee in the private garden of a first-floor apartment, like I did that summer in NYC. It was beyond wonderful, except for the horrible low lying smog that had enveloped the streets for long stretches that summer. Oh well, that was then, this is now!
