NEW YORK VLOG with kids! Earthquake, Sightseeing + Tips for NYC

Hey Emily, I’ve been following you for years now and it’s cool to see you in NYC with your boys! I loved your outfits! As a mum of boys similar ages this has inspired me to plan a NYC trip with them. Always love seeing your travel vlogs. It’s how I came across your channel years ago before Jackson was born. I’d love to continue to see more content about family meals, eating out and how you plan family time now the boys are older and they are perhaps spending more time with friends etc. I try to treasure every minute together as a family and it’s certainly adapts over time doesn’t it. I’m renovating our unused detached garage into a games room and hope to install a projector screen in there too after seeing your recent video. X

Californian here. people eat, shower, sleep through a 4.5 without blinking an eye. we do get earthquake alerts , it is really helpful and kids know the drill to duck and cover .

You guys look great as a couple, like best friends having the best time in the world. Laugh and make fun of each other. After all this yeas, this is so sweet.❤

The phone alerts are helpful IF you need to take immediate action. Otherwise you just make note or ignore. In New Jersey ex Governor Christie described the initial noise from the quake as sounding and feeling like a bomb went off. You get an alert and you know it's a quake not an attack. I really had never thought about how the alerts might feel to people not used to them. The real worry is getting too used to alerts and ignoring when you shouldn't. There are also alerts for child abductions and "silver" alerts for old people confused and lost. Really liked this video of NYC. Haven't been there for ages and enjoy seeing it again. Thanks.

Love this video Emily, I got engaged in New York in 2013 and we always talk about returning but with 6 year old twins it’s about the right timing… Jackson did amazing! So maybe it won’t be as long as we thought ❤️

Thank you for sharing your trip. Being almost a mum of two boys- one is still in my tummy due in a couple days😊, I am always afraid to take kids out for holidays. I never thought I would go to USA especially with kids but your trip looks amazing and makes me want to visit there one day. There are a few places I really want to explore there. Hope Jackson feels better now and glad dentist can fix them.❤❤❤❤

I love New York vlogs. It look so much. After watching your instagrams pics It brought memories when I went there. I remember flying there 11:20am uk time and getting to nyc 2:15pm time. So it felt like we hadn’t miss any of the day.

Looks like you had an amazing time despite the weather, you did so much. We were in NY at the same time, on Long Island. Definitely felt the earthquake there, was having a lie on staying in my sisters house, shot up in the bed with the fright!

Hi Emily do sad to have seen all the stuff about Ground Zero and the twin peeks . My partner and I are from the Uk but we were with his Parents and at the time our 2 yr old daughter holidaying in Myrtle Beach area. We went into a TShirt print shop and at the time we went in it was on the TV . We asked the Shop owner what film it was ? He said it wasn’t a film… and said that it was actually happening in New York on the news ! . Such scary and frighting times all round. I loved your vlog.

We do get alerts here in the UK on our phones whenever it is raining it says flood alert, all the time even though i live above sea leval

We love New York was only there 10 months ago but so want to go back. Did you do the hobby horses in Central Park? Was one of the highlights for me. My son was also unwell I think the food is a lot richer and bigger portions as well x

I'm in South Jersey and the earthquake happened in North Jersey I haven't felt the other ones because I was in a car. I felt this one it didn't last long. But yes the vibration and movement from the bridge is likely why you didn't feel it. Also earthquakes are not common in this area so it is a but scary. But the alert systems are to warn us to get cover if need be. We have them for tornados too which aren't common here but happening more often. So we don't have the tools like areas that are used to these natural disasters.

Hello Emily! I am glad you liked NYC. I am about 70 miles from there in upper NY. We felt the earthquake up here. It was a little shake. We were in NYC during your trip at the car show at the javitts center. Glad Jackson didn't really damage his tooth. It was so nice to see everyone enjoying themselves.

I live in NJ and we felt alot of the earthquake, also the aftershock at around 6pm. At least where I live we did.

I live in Boston and I felt the earthquake .. sitting on the couch and it started to shake like crazy.. then it stopped and then news said we just had a earthquake.. even have alerts for tornados to we get them also.. I have alerts for everything ..America is crazy..and then at 6pm felt the aftershock

When I went it was feb and that pond in the park was frozen!

Sad that you didn't show footage of the Statue of Liberty. Did you actually go on Liberty Island and go up inside the crown? Great views from up there and the boys would have loved it.

New York is a definite bucket list trip for us. We did Amsterdam with our boys and our average daily steps where 21,000 and still didn’t fit everything in 😮 If you don’t mind me asking how expensive was food daily?

if you would have booked ahead you could have gone inside the statue of liberty

I have found that alot of the American citys ive been too i always seem encounter alot of rude staff and locals… i don’t think they are a fan of the British tourists aha!
