I remember watching this video when I was in high school wanting to be a nurse, and now 6 years later I passed my NCLEX exam this past Monday 9/11 and I’m now an RN. Very proud of my journey and I’m proud to be a nurse. 💜👨🏻‍⚕️

My husband was on the Cardiac ICU for almost 3 weeks in 9/2014. Aortic dissection. We were from Florida. My husband was a long haul truck driver and this happened in Michigan. You care and love that you extended to Sean and I were unprecedented and now I, at 50 years old am in nursing school. I am going to be a critical care nurse and I thank the nurses and staff on the CICU for that decision. Maybe I can come work with you guys if I ever want to see snow again. :) oxoxoxoxoxo I love you guys and will never forget your faces.

As a college student wanting to become a Nurse I can honestly say I'm ok with wanting to be a nurse my father and mother were in and out of hospitals. So I was always around hospitals I saw how hard nurses worked to provide excellent care and how they were there for my parents on not just a professional level but a personal level really digging into the whole fact that these patients are human not a textbook this has inspired me to go for Nursing I know it's tough but being able to help people and have a crew like this fighting for the same thing makes being a nurse more than a job but a positive movement towards bettering the world reminds me that these tests and constant work will be well worth it.

What a beautiful video. Chuck especially touched my heart and made me emotional... nurses are absolutely the most beautiful people I have ever met in my life and they inspire me to be as compassionate towards others as they are. It makes my heart full knowing there are such incredible, selfless people in this world and they are 100% exactly where they should be in this life; by people who need them the most. Thank you SO MUCH for this video. This is exactly what I needed to watch today!!! Totally improved my mood!

The SICU is and are my hero nurses! They were on me, night and day and were the best empathetic and kinda loving people I've ever been the privilege to meet. I love the SICU people!!! And the floor nurses on the 5th floor were also my hero's! And especially the E.R. Dept. nurses. They all like a symphony together kept me alive and processed me through and did so much more than I can even say here. My heart my mind and soul and especially my LIVER, belongs to them. They all saved me. Thank You U of M to infinity and beyond. I will always be in your debt. Love them Wolverines!!!

This hit me hard 3/4 through, having the nurse say being the last person to see them and holding their hand before they died. Having my grandma who raised me and was my mom just die from Covid last year, no one was allowed to see her even when they knew she wouldn’t make it because of Covid and as far as we know she died alone. I hope she had a nurse like him

as an ER nurse, watching those compressions made me cringe. Drop that side rail, the pt is dead, he's not going to fall out of bed! If you are leaning over like that, while giving compressions, you're going to give poor compressions and you will tire out before even the 2 minute mark! Compressions are from the shoulder, don't bend the elbows.

I know right, I know its just pretend, but quality CPR is what actually saves the brain, if you don't save the brain, the rest of what you do is useless! I also didn't see defibrillation pads on before they were putting in an IO, which is a no no... high quality CPR and early defibrillation is what saves lives!

Being a nursing school student in a place where hospitals are understaffed, basically means being pushed in the whole work system for three or more years. Working full shifts, even double shifts without getting payed, and getting the kind of knowledge that lasts but sure takes toll. This place looks amazing, way more organized than the place where I studied. Though as a nurse all I could think about watching this was "Why are there so many girls working with their hair down?"

what is the difference between Nurse practitioner and a medical doctor?
@kaykee7970
@kaykee7970 8 лет назад
+neonaction the education of nurse practitioners is not as extensive as the education medical doctors get. they also work under a completely different scope of practice. while nurse practitioners do practice within their scope of medicine, their approach is more holistic (which is huge in nursing as a whole). they also have to work under the supervision of a physician and cannot prescribe narcotics in most states.
@bettysmith4527
@bettysmith4527 Год назад
@@kaykee7970 You are incorrect, in MOST states NPs can practice independent of a physician and can prescribe narcotics!

It depends on your region and what hospital you work in. In my hospital nurses typically work 10-12 hour shifts. I also know a nurse (in a different city than mine), who works 18 hour days (3 days on and 4 days off).
@rathernotdisclose8064
@rathernotdisclose8064 7 лет назад
12 hour shifts are pretty common, but the thing is its usually 3 days a week part time or 4 days a week full time, so then you have a much longer weekend than most people. Balances out (personally i'd prefer 4 day weekends with really long shifts)
@yolandimare1

Yeah. In South-Africa it's also 12 hour shifts.

Of course you need to do that. You'll do it every day during clinical and almost every day as part of your actual job. You also won't be able to be a nurse right after HS--you need a college degree. Even to be a nurse tech you'll need 2 years clinical experience or a trade degree. Come on guys.
@jesusislord9755
@jesusislord9755 7 лет назад
TheCaptainJade Ok thanks. I know that you need a college degree to be a RN Nurse. I just didn't know that you had to do things like clean up vomit and clean naked people everyday as an RN. I thought CNA's usually did that.

According to the bibles genealogy the world is only 6000 years old which disputes fossil records and all science which prove the earth is 5.4 billion years old Jesus said nearly 2000 years ago:Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." And he said speaking of end times when the antichrist would come: Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. And speaking of slavery which the bible permits: When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. Also the tribe of benjamin was permitted to capture "a damsel or two for himself" and force them into marriage to unwillingly bear children by rape. Deuteronomy 13:12 you hear it said about one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you to live in that troublemakers have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, "Let us go and worship other gods" (gods you have not known), then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly. And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you,you must certainly put to the sword all who live in that town. You must destroy it completely, both its people and its livestock.(including people who had nothing to do with it).

"I may get a lunch, I may not..." Thats the problem with nursing, the fact that hospitals expect any person to work NON STOP for 12 hours with no break is an atrocity, and it needs to stop!! This video is well choreographed (well, except for the mega code), but it over glorifies nursing, don't be fooled, the reality of nursing is MUCH different!
