-In the airport data center of the control tower that I monitored 3 or 4 years ago, I used Arduino circuits designed with a wired network interface to send to my Nagios server that I designed with some old servers that they will send to the trash, and I created a monitor system to test external AC, UPS, temperature, humidity and other things, like some alarm indicators for some servers directly from the server hardware. -And with Nagios, I monitored the software and services on the servers and my network. -But now they have systems that are much easier to program and interface with Wi-Fi microcontrollers like esp32 and other microcontrollers much more powerful than my old Arduino monitor modules. -I think that in my next job at the NOC after doing my LPIC and CCNA, I will use many of these cheap and reliable new technologies and thanks for giving me some god new ideas in this video.

What is the connector for the rs485 bus? Is it an xlr plug? It looks very similar to the dmx protocol that is used in the lighting industry

Hey Custodian, first thanks for the videos! As someone whos interested in tech and works as an IT Admin I rally like your videos! But I got an idea, would it be possible to write down in the description the name of your tools? It's sometimes hard to understand completly what are you using :( Thanks!

As a coder I find this is one of the most interesting videos so far. I guess the question we are all wondering is what language(s) you used.. My bet would be on Python, although I think accessing sensors might be easier in C/C++..

I wouldn't be surprised to see it being done with Perl, either.

How do you monitor HDDs' status in your datacenter? Through VMWare or you have a different solution?
@sitte24
@sitte24 4 года назад
Normally you get alarms directly from the server or storage device, they can even send emails directly to a technician to come and replace the failed hdd
@qPolakq
@qPolakq 4 года назад
@@sitte24 it's an option, but there are better tools for DC like PRTG and I wonder whether they use such tools or not :)

maan i got my CCNA CERT from cisco just to work at data centers. But they mostly asking for experience like 2 or more years this is not helping the people who wants to start a career in network path the big question i always ask FOR COMPANIES IS HOW THE HELL YOU WANT PEOPLE EXPERIECED BUT THEY CAN EVEN GET A FIRST JOB TO GET THAT EXPERIENCE ??!!!
@Creati_Xx

you just apply anyway, first impression is everything, a nice looking CV, good motivational letter gets you far! When they do give you a chance for meeting, just be honest and fair. There are always some companies willing to give folks a chance.

Wireless sensors are ok, but are more likely to fail than wired ones.
