I tried a clinical psychology program and I didn’t like it. Currently in my last year of clinical and mental health counseling. Keep the videos coming. We need more grad school motivation videos on here 🤎🤎
I’m a community college student and recently decided to change my major from nursing to psychology so that I can become a clinical psychologist! I just found this vlog and I love it❤️❤️❤️
Ahhhh thank you so much for posting this. I’m graduating in less than a year with a BS in psych and then taking (at least) a gap year before getting my masters and have been stressing so much about what grad school actually looks like
I love this cuz I’ve been looking into being a psychologist or neurologist.. but I’m leaning more towards psychology cuz i can work in everything but work with people
just found your page, im a grad student as well. thankfully i dont have stats yet lol. but i love following other grad students. my next set of classes start monday!
Hello! You are so gorgeous and pretty! I loved your vlog! I just completed my first year of undergrad school (psych major) and I plan on going to graduate school to study Clinical Psychology, so watching your vlogs gives me insight to what it may be like!
I'm in my psych masters in Germany and I reallly enjoyed this video! :) You have a lovely voice and it was so cool to see your smile when you talked about seeing your patient for the first time!
*Thank you so much for making this video it helps me so much because I want to be a doctor psychologist and I’m super excited I’m willing to work hard and do all the schooling I need to be successful with patients and within myself* 💓
taylor Quinn I’m a student worker on campus! Also, you can become a therapist working under a licensed psychologist, a counselor, get into research! There are many ways to use a Master’s degree in clinical psych! Hope this helped❤️
deep fit me is a tiny bit too red for me but it goes well if your foundation is a lil yellow-ish. and ya better tell me how to get rid of these acne scars GURL D:
I love psychology! I majoref in psychology and allied health sciences. If I hadn't discovered clinical dietetics I would have gotten a masters in clinical psychology 😁
(I’ll put all my questions and such in ** to make it easier to know how to respond if you do end up replying :) ) Hey! I know this is late so I don’t know if you’ll be replying, but I’m a 16 year old (for context, as I don’t know a lot about how degrees, college, and grad school work yet) and I’ve been considering going into clinical psych when the time comes or studying it for the last year or so, and been considering psychology all together for even longer. **How long does it take before you can actually work within the field?** I don’t know much about what grad school entails, but seeing as your talking about getting to work with your first client later (at the time of this video) **I’m assuming you get to do some stuff?** It’s just what confuses me is that you said you work as a student technician on campus which **correct me if I’m wrong because I don’t know the details,** I don’t think has anything to do with clinical psych and is just your job right now for the sake of making money. So.. **how exactly were you able to have a client while you’re still in schooling?** **Do you get to do work in the field at all yet or not until you get your final degrees?** I’ll be checking some of your other content!
Hi! To answer your question, yes I work on campus as a student technician for money purposes. As far as seeing clients right now, I am in training (you can only train if you’re in a grad school program) So that is the only reason why I’m able to see clients! While I’m training I am under the supervision of licensed psychologists/my professors. You won’t be able to officially see clients until you graduate with your masters.
NO! Don’t give up! Stats can be very challenging but if you stay in constant communication with your professor, study hard, and ask your peers for help you will make it through! There’s not many stats classes that you need to take😅 hang in there👍🏽
@@KyraJanaeee Thank you, I'll hang in there. I am totally restarting my education all over again. I really love to help people so that's the main reason why I'm pursuing psyc now. Great videos, thank you for sharing!
Hey girl thank you so much for sharing this was so helpful!!! If you don’t mind answering, what do you think is the best thing to do, live on campus or live at home while pursuing a masters in psych? Also, how did you pay for it 😭
Ana da Costa i believe living close to campus is super convenient but it can also be a bit expensive. It all depends on your preference and finances! And unfortunately Loans🥴😭
I'm gonna be a freshman in the fall. I'm thinking about clinical psychology but I'm not sure. I'm an introvert and not the best with communicating with people. How'd you know this was the field you wanted to go into?
B. F For me, it was the urge to help others through the power of talking. There’s nothing more uplifting than getting something off your chest! I understand where you’re coming from, I believe I’m somewhat of an introvert myself. I know that group psychotherapy is going to be a challenge for me because I rather one on one sessions, but I’m ready to be pushed out of my comfort zone!
How do you find the balance between course load, practicum and research (your thesis)? I really want to go into clinical psych but the research component is very intimidating to me.
Fortunately, my program gave us the option on writing a thesis! So, I choose not to, which i believe was a good choice for me because it would’ve required an additional year in the program. Balancing course load, internship, work, and research lab is a REAL challenge lol but it is doable! I choose not to do any research projects on my own in my lab so I’m just helping with others and that is less stress for me! My secret weapon is a planner 😂 My planner is my best friend lol it helps keep me organized and up to date on all of my assignments! I hope this helped!
Im gonna be a sophomore next year and i wanted to know in the next two years when i go to college and major in psychology what classes do I take that allows me to work with children or adults ? Like you know talk to them and examine their mental state ?
Janiya Brooks when I was in undergrad, I took Personality Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, cognitive psychology, social psychology, and child psychology. I believe all of these courses will help build your knowledge on the thought processes and personality of both children and adults!
I’m in the process of deciding if I want to do pre med to be a psychiatrist or to stick with the psychology route for a clinical psychologist. This helped me! Thank you
I'm not too sure about job options for a Master's in Psychology, but I don't believe you can become a licensed therapist. I read something saying you could possibly be a behavioral counselor with a Master's in Psychology. Hope this helped! Thanks for watching❤️
