Very interesting on complete start to finish surveying as a single person party with this GPS technology. I’m a local surveyor in Oahu Hawaii and we use 2 man crews, party chief/instrument man and rod man. I have a fair amount of party chief experience for residential (mostly “K2s” where we locate perimeter boundaries for land parcels and also set property pins. We also do topographies and elevations for insurance. Just crazy how much there is to learn in the full process as well as the different technologies and various applications. I was glad I was able to comprehend what you mean by brain mapping of having a game plan. It really comes with experience

Jonathan M I think potential to earn more freelancing, that’s what I have always found around about 20% more even after taxes etc. There are risks though!
And gis autocad, all that stuff fun as it is You can expect to spend min same amount of time with Drawing it up as survey..Unless you have super active system.... surveying is fun but not easy by any stretch of the imagination

Can a land surveyor establish a new property? I've been trying to research this but can't seem to find an answer. I'm going to need to establish a new property in the future that's inside of a bigger pre-existing property. I've already marked out the perimeter on google earth and was wondering how I get it established and deeded in the future? If surveyors can't do this, I would greatly appreciate if anyone can tell me who I need to contact to get it done. I really need help, I'm just lost in the dark here.
I am a surveyor and i do this for a living. Depending where you live and depending on the urban planning rules that apply for your location, a surveyor should be able to measure up your property and create a case for you to file with the local government, i amsume the Department of building and zoning. As a civilian you could visit the department yourself and ask for information about your property. You could aks information about your project and what zoning rules apply to your property.

You didn't really explain anything at all. Land surveying is more than just surveying the land. It's main function is to establish legal boundaries and rights of way. Secondly, it is used to establish precise measurements based off a fixed point. There is a lot that goes into surveying, much more than just walking around. You're a fool if you are doing this without a helper.

please HELP QUESTION? if you buy property with rent to owne and you move in and you have 5 years payment agreement and your not %100 owner of the land or house CAN you cut large trees? and fight with neighbor about property survey line? or you must let landlord deal with neighbor about survey line? im from georgia USA AMERICA. good neighbor its a gift from GOD...... im was goin same problem just some difrents with some peoples how Amaeicans call them rednack halybilyees. this is a long story i try just say some..im not amarican but im an american citizen and i have owne my property for 4 years and i paid my taxs on time my wife is native amarican mixed we have 2 kids and dogs at. jan2018 my neighbor sold rent to buy there house to a lady with 5 years how called rent pay owne and my neighbor she and her boy firend and 5dogs and a pig and there lotss firends used live there...no lish no watch there dogs and pig and cat and there visiters traspaas come to my property and poop and pee on my property so after 30 times animal cuntrol calls and 80 timess police calls i got court orther to biulde fance i did sorvay line to biulde fance...at agu.14.2019 my neighbor lady and her boyfirends and firend set my house and everyy thinks i owned in fire. and i lost every think and my arme. i didt have the insurence at the time.soo we come to be a homelees and i had camera all over my property camera shows every thinks there speeks there actions ... any way few months a go i finde out the father of the lady my new beighbor are firend with all judges on that couney...im going true to hell in life and no law halps....and long storyy on and on. Hey I could really do with some advice, I need a change of direction in life. I’m 31yrs old and thinking off becoming a building surveyor. I’ve always had a fascination with building and construction, would you recommend at this age to start afresh and what first do I need to start in order to become one. I currently have a regular 9-5 civil service office job and graduated years ago from university in graphic design. Feel like I’ve waste donkey years on bs.
I’ve seen people join the career path of land surveying from the age of 20-50. I’d say it’s totally possible as long as you are able and willing to start at entry wages and work your way up. It’s possible to work your way up and learn a lot if you have initiative and good work ethic. I’d say do it.
