Lol... this is how my Uni life is exactly! I'm always sleepy in lectures, if I haven't eaten before a lecture all I think about is food during the lecture, if I have eaten all I think about is sleep, lol.. During my free time (which I have a lot of) I also watch RU-vid videos lol it's so sad haha..
Here's my question. If university life is really this boring, then why are teens killing themselves getting the best grades possible and willing to pay gobs of money which they don't have for a place they have no idea why they are there?
eugene680 goood question! Deferred gratification is all I can say, suffer now for a better future haha... No for real though it's tough and often boring but totally worth it for future prospects. I'm in my first year at Oxford so I don't have a lot of free time to be bored but definitely enough working time to ask myself whether or not it is worth it - it definitely is though!
You forgot three main things: 1) The teacher who is foreign or who has a strong accent, so you can't completely understand him/her during the lecture. 2) The horrors of group assignments. 3) Non-stop study (if you're full-time or doing a double major). I honestly don't know how anyone can have much of a social life if they're studying 50 hours a week. Most of the 'party people' at my uni are failing miserably.
I've been binge watching every vlog of yours, I'm obsessed😭😭I love how you acc give a realistic view of it all. Making me so excited and hopeful for uni 😎😎
Being a university Student isn't easy at all at least from my experience. I get up 4am for breakfast , then have to be at the bus stop for the first bus out by 5:30am, then wait for the train to new brunswick at 6:00am, then wait for the next available bus to Devry University which runs 1 per hour which in this case 7am, by the time i reach i try to nap at least an hour before first class starts lol Heck I sometimes slept on the train & few times I've missed my stop which really sux Had to live with it throughout the 3 years lol
2 hours each way lol that's a total of 4 hrs of travel almost everyday to class sometimes if i miss the first bus going to the station, i just walk the route which takes me 30 mins same to going home from the station on my 3rd year, i finally was able to drive which only took me 30min to drive directly to the university a huge time difference.
Actually no.. The feeling is just tiring because I don't get enough sleep It's not easy because I have to waste time waiting for available transportation, but I cannot let it prevent me from concentrating actively.. College is expensive & I strived to do well so I don't be held back because it will just cost more. Couple times I procrastinated on my homework, but I still get it done while riding the train or waiting an hr for the next bus to class.
IVEMER ye school is typical for me no sleep for school, anxiety depression from lack of sleep cant remember what i learn more anxiety no friends repeat
Hey great video! Surrey is my firm choice and results day is so so soon and I know I haven't got the grades I'm literally terrified 😁 just wanted to ask if you or any of your friends didn't meet the original offer for grades and still got in?? Literally had my heart set on this uni since I was like 8 haha xxx
hey, thank you so much! Ah I know the feeling, stay positive, it'll probably go a lot better than you expect! I actually didn't make the grades for this course but still got into surrey! (you can see the whole thing here if you want - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YGib7h6NiUk.html). So many others also missed their offers by a few grades and still got in :) Good luck for results day, hope you have got in! xxx
How many exams did you have on each semester? I really love your videos, I feel like they prepared me so much for next year - hope surrey is the right uni for me too ❤️
4 big exams each semester, but we also had 1 or 2 mid term tests too for each module! Thank you so much for watching them, hope you have a great time at Surrey :)
M8 I am only in Middle school so I have no idea whatsoever how it actually is. But I have questions. I heard you can choose what kind of classes you take, if that is true, I will choose Mathematics, Chemistry. Are there special classes like physics or Astrophysics? Final question, you can choose how and when you study, as long as it's on topic and you are all caught up for your next day. Is that true or is it a lie? (Hey btw is there just one cafeteria or many different places?) Thanks for your time.
Again I don't know if it's how it is, but I think that if I go to University, I will enjoy how long the days actually are and I will be driven to know more.
Hey, i was wondering how you're finding surrey so far? I got an offer from them, and ive been loving the Uni, however i'm concerned about the student life.. do you feel like there's a lot of things to do and whatnot? Especially entertainment wise
I'm absolutely loving it, I feel like surrey is perfect for me tbh! They do some good events occasionally, town is pretty big with so many places to eat out, shopping here isn't a problem - it has all the good stores. If you're heavy on nights outs then you may feel like it isn't good enough but personally I think even the night life here is okay
I think you just have to go with your gut feeling and not be scared of what could have/should have/will happen, just go with what you feel is right and see how it pans out I guess x
Are u allowed to take pictures of the slides the teacher shows? Because thats what I would do. Then look at it carefully when u have time. Or if u are very sleepy just record the lecture haha memez
There is no such thing as detention in college, but if you're bad enough, you may get called into the Student Code of Conduct Office. There, you will have a meeting, tell them what you did wrong along with the rest of your situation, and they will determine if you need to get punished from there by the university. Remember, college is an adult school, and they pretty much don't have detention there. It's obviously because college is about choosing what courses you want to do for your major at any time you want. Even if they did have detention in college, that would be impossible to have a period dedicated to that, and in college, you are always expected to act like an adult at all times too.
I hope I get into Uni like u smh... Gonna try so hard in A2! Btw how do loans and bursaries and schloarships work? Will I have enough to live off of? I don't understand lol What's it like?
