Thanks for this video Michael, I really enjoyed it. Your edits are getting better every time. You are easily one of my favorite elite swimmers and being able to watch you on youtube is a truly awesome.
My shoulder conditions has restricted me from training as hard as I normally do and I honestly miss the pool and 5AMs sooooo much and I've been binging these swimming vlogs like you and cody's to make me feel better😭😭
I had pretty similar injury when i was 14 years old, i stopped swimming seriously for 2 years and now i am 16 nearly 17 years old and i dream of becoming olymoic swimmer
Natalie and Kumanin Great idea but what if he is a country swimmer like my self and there club is almost none existent now. My club was one of the biggest in my state when I was a kid but as a teen numbers dropped off I was the second oldest at about 11 or 12. My advice is Learn to train by your self and be your own coach you have to motivate your self and have positive sessions no matter what, it is what I've done over the last 7 years its not easy only just started to try and get back in to it this year and at the moment aiming for national over the next year or two. I was the same hated training by my self and could only push my self with a coach or id just slack off, when I was about 17 -18 we lost all the committed available coaches So I only had 2 session's a week with a coach, 3 more were taken by my mum for maybe a year lol. The other 4 I had to train and coach my self After my mum was no longer available to help me as a coach the 7 sessions I did by my self got slack, some time in all this me and the only coach I had available made a plan as it was easy for me to just keep swimming got started training for the 800 and 1500, as swimming none stop at this point was easy when I trained my self but after 18 a combination of being able to drink alcohol, eating takeaway and going out every weekend to pubs/clubs it all fell apart by 20. You could also join a tri club to have a few sessions with people and a few by ya self, but I found there sessions to easy on top of that only half the year they trained and most of the members were a lot older.
Such a great job with this video, i do appreciate your dedication to the details. Regarding to the Katsuu, it seems like a very cool stuff to simulate last 10m of the race and prepare you for this pain.
Love your videos Andrew. Keep up the hard work. I wanna be a sprinter like you. And I like the fact how u said “my sisters friend got stung by a stingray....pretty cool”
This was so fun to watch. I was trying to watch this vid while doing the dishes, but I ended up getting so invested in this vid I took a break from the dishes and went to my room to watch the rest of this.
Awesome Day In The Life, Michael. Keep the videos coming. And keep up the awesome job! Congratulations on your swims at Worlds and Nats. Next summer will be all about you and Caeleb. Congrats again man!

Do a video on your dry land and weight training, I am really interested to see what you do since you never seemed to like the idea of it. I have a good amount of lifting experience so I am just wondering what is your approach to it.
Love this, other people just film what’s there favourite laundry detergent and what they ate for thanksgiving I wonder how tf does that relate to swimming but this is perfect, keep it up.
Casually edits dope videos in his free time aside from being an Olympic swimmer 😂😂😂 love you bro. Legend! Good luck in Tokyo though I know you won’t need it 🥇🙏🏽
I would really recommend you to do some videos on teaching the different swimming styles as well as the right technique to accomplish each one of them.
I saw on the block in the lane that you used you had a fin. I believe that is a spectrum block. The high school swim team that I am apart of doesn’t have blocks. I am wondering what you use?
The method is supposed to help muscles. Talk to someone who does it and check if ur sport allows it cause there was a big thing when Michel Phelps did it
Really nice vlog! however, sometimes it's hard to hear your dad and understand what he is saying (I'm not native english speaker). It's really interesting to hear him talking about swimming and his view about training. Maybe you could add subtitles from time to time? like the scene in the car driving for a training greetings from Germany!
if you get a chance you have to try a smoothstar skateboard. i have a carver as well but as far as mimicking surfing the smoothstar can't be beat. it's leveled up my turns in the water. i dont really use my carver for surf training anymore, its been relegated to cruising mode.
Appreciate your sharing of training techniques and their insights. The traditional way has been coach-dependent without athlete knowing why, so making the training more like secret recipe. The educational disruption is happening similarly to your way of knowledge sharing. Thanks.
0:52 scary how many chemicals you are ingesting .... hope they will not mess you up 11:20 Super many thanks for showing us your amazing skills .11:44 that pullout breaststroke kick is amazing !You are a great swimmer and I super envy your relation you have with your father, the respect you have for him, I wish my boys will learn something from this. Good luck and please post more videos with you in the pool.
I think it's super cool how you not only train with swimming but find ways to have fun with it, like surfing. Also really like this video, always fun to watch your vlogs!
What are those things called and what they for on 14:11?I will try using them as well, for now I only use compressions sleeves on my caves and arms before or after swimming. Thank you
Really cool video Michael! I'm not a pro athlete myself but I'm trying to be healthy and do lots of sports and your concistency and work ethic is a big motivation! Greetings from Germany :-)
Hey Michael, why are you doing such an backstroke breakout at 11:34? Where are the benefits of this compared to the usual way? Thank you and good luck in Richmond! :) Florian
