Hey, i really dig the videos, lots of great insight. Please keep them coming. Minor suggestion: When your subtitles are a bit longer its sometimes hard to read them fast enough, they could be visible for a bit longer e.g. at 1min16.
@@RattlinBonesClub Yeah I mean you're on the road so its probably already hard to find free spots to make the videos - I appreciate your time and effort dont get me wrong :)
a new adventure with stress... How many times has my show been ruined by the rain...!! leaks on the stage and leaks on... FOH!! with completely soaked floors and giving electric shocks when touching any metal part.. As always, super entertaining video.. excellent work.. greetings from Spain..
Haha Jera really take care of the bands and crew and it’s such a small festival compared to others. But it makes a massive difference to our day there.
Love this series! Quick question: You said you were making adjustments for the tent. Would you say that primarily you're doing moves on the master graphic EQ since you usually have a file with the instruments preset that tend to work most of the time? It's not like you're adjusting much compression or anything, correct?
Hey man love the videos as newer sound guy just wanted some advice on how to get in with a band to run sound and also how to get experience on different consoles. Love the videos dude please keep them coming 👍👍👍
Work at local venues, get to know some of the local bands that might one day want you to mix them in another venue. Be friendly with everyone! You never know which band might want to have you on a tour!
I love your videos. I know the headphones let you hear what is coming out of the console before the PA, but what does the small speaker (Mackie?) do? I see so many FOH engineers with them, but I don’t know the purpose. Thanks!
It’s so I can hear the talk mics on stage from the band and crew. We use this mics to communicate during the show, everyone on stage has the mics go into their iems but at FOH I have them all routed to a speaker so I can hear them talk and if there is any issues I need to be aware of during the show
I was looking into volunteering at Copenhell and the food situation was one of the reasons I noped out. That and not really having space for volunteers to park/camp
I was using SE8's, the band have a little bit of them in their IEM's but mainly it's for recording so if the band wanted to use the recordings for anything we had some crowd noise.
i saw Phil using live professor , he is using it thorough dante? and if yes what dante interface does he is using on the laptop?, i also carry a yellow peli case for the drum mics ;) looking forward!
The snare reverb return is set on a dca. The button I press moves that dca fader upto +10 to make it happen and then the down button puts it to -15 to still leave some verb in the mix but not in your face haha
The drummer has a trigger sample for his iems. I use the unit to control the gate opening for the mics at FOH. The sound you hear out front is a blend of 2 mics, but the trigger sound is just for the iems as it’s a super consistent click sound.
