I have a Eskie and to much fir me. House broken. Has papers very smart dog.. need to remove for free. I'm to old to keep up with her. Love children and only takes a minute to warm up to other pets. If you know anybody that wants her can have her. Just someone that will love her. Let me know.

It's sad that you have to re-home your dog. I know because we had to do that once too. I don't know what part of the country you live in but I'm sure there are lots and lots of people who would want her. If you read some of the comments below a person is asking where she could find an Eskie. You can make sure your dog goes to someone who knows how Eskies behave and how to treat her. They're smart and if they don't get enough play and exercise (a walk every day and maybe more) they can become very mischeivious. It really does take good health and strength to keep up with them and to wear down some of their happy energy. I'm too old too and I wanted another Eskie but I have to admit we can't get another one. My little Chloe died a month ago. And looked like this kind of dog .. she was extremely loyal and wanted me with her at all times ...I just can’t get over her .. I’m so heart broken

Thanks, Anthony. Abbie is usually well behaved on camera but in real life most of the time she’s a hyperactive barking lunatic.

@@AbbieTheEskie you should show that too. So people don't get surprised if they get an Eskimo thinking they are quiet dogs, and then get crazy barking. I am deciding what breed will be my next dog, and I don't like excessive barking dogs.

I have met a few other eskies and talked with random people I've bumped into who had eskies in the past. It's fair to say they are among the most barky breeds. So yes, if you get an Eskie there's a good chance that excessive barking will become part of your daily life. Abbie is also very possessive of her people, her home and her toys. She doesn't like to share.

I have a 15 month old and we are in the exact situation: no screentime other than for Abbie, but he loves it so much that sometimes we put the video on in the car over the speakers because he loves the music so much haha

The only thing with them is they are VERY much a companion animal, meaning they want to be around you a lot, but for my wife and I that's no issue as she goes to work with my wife every day. I'd say I get more stressed out due to not being around her with my 9-5 job lol. So if you can spend the time with them, within reason (it's not like they can't be alone ever), they are the best.

Abbie is lovely at home with her family, but she is the angry barking type when she meets strangers. A lot of Eskies are that way.

I truly, truly feel your pain. Mine Eski passed on June 19 of this year. My heart feels yours...When the time comes. you will know when its time to give a home to another little soul.

My Eskie was over18 when she died. Her name was Angel. I read somewhere that the American Eskimo is like an angel in white fur.

Our car only has two front seats and a trunk. There is no middle.

The majority of Abbie's diet is fresh whole foods. Every 6 weeks I spend a day making a massive pot of food containing a wide range of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes etc. We scoop out about 80-90 balls and freeze them. We thaw 2 every night for the next day and she eats them with some plant based kibble on the side so her teeth have something to crunch. I would never dream of feeding her bacon and eggs.

@@AbbieTheEskie I’ve looked at several Eski videos but if I remember correctly I saw you guys making his food which is what caused me to write my thoughts on this issue. I think everyone would benefit from your recipe if you don’t mind posting it. I know I would because I waited too late and I didn’t switch Bears diet until the last few months of his life. Your video has me and my wife thinking about getting an Eskimo pup, so thank you for getting us to talk about it. If you do post your recipe I plan to print it for my future Eskimo. Eskies generally are extremely hyper and they tend to bark a lot.

Most Eskies bark A LOT! Not all do, but barking is one of their defining characteristics. I recommend doing a lot of research before adopting an Eskie.

Abbie eats Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, black beans, chickpeas, green peas, green beans, blueberries, banana, nuts, seeds and vegan kibble made by V-Dog/V-Planet.

Yes I'm told they are up in the top few percent for intelligence. A long time ago Eskies were, unfortunately, used as circus dogs because they were so good at learning tricks.

Eskies do need a lot of physical and mental activity. Abbie needs about 3 hours of activity per day. They are highly strung dogs and full of energy. They also tend to bark a lot more than most breeds. When this video was recorded she was much more tired and low energy than usual because she was going through a thyroid issue at the time. She also had lost a lot of her hair here. Now she is back to normal and just absolutely crazy.

Abbie had bad tear stains when she was a puppy, like all her siblings and her parents and most other Eskies I’ve met. When I switched her to a plant based diet about 5 years ago the tear stains went away within about 6 weeks.

When this video was made Abbie had just been diagnosed with a thyroid condition and hadn't begun treatment yet, which is why she was low energy and had thin hair. We later learned that it was a genetic condition as some of her siblings have it too. The symptoms did not appear until later in life. She was treated and made a full and fast recovery and has had perfect health since. So far so good. Our vet says she's one of the healthiest dogs on her patient list and can't believe how good her resting heart rate, cholesterol, muscle tone, blood pressure and blood work are. I credit her plant based diet for her health. At nine years old she has never had an infection, virus, cold, sniffle, soft or wet stools or any other health problem aside from her hypothyroidism. Her eyes are clear and don't leak like the majority of Eskies' eyes do. We have been very fortunate so far and hopefully her good health will continue for years to come. No diet is perfect, but I do my best. Dogs evolved alongside humans and developed the necessary biology to digest and thrive on a wide variety of plant foods. So my thinking is, if my dog can live a healthy, happy life without me killing innocent animals, it would make little sense for me, as an animal lover, to feed her animals. The unexpected effect was just how much healthier she appears to be, compared to her meat, wheat and animal-by-product-fed friends of the family.
