Midwife student here on the tongue tie - they have become SO common and we always recommend midwife clients to get them fixed if it happens to their little babe! There isn't anything "unnatural" about getting it fixed :) if anything - the natural process of breastfeeding helps your breastmilk "know" what exact nutrients or antibodies your baby might need in a certain moment of time. It still matters what works best for you & your mental health as a new mama! I know Smoke is well fed & so loved. Just wanted to share!

That feeding and sleep schedule is A1!! The most genius set of new parents!! That exact feeding schedule i did with my two dudes and let me tell you they did not regress!! Love so much that you guys are full of logic and reason while creating this new life!! My sister has 4 and she never took my advice and let me tell you how much she struggled☹️

Brings tears to my eyes to see such amazing, present, & loving parents!!! I gave birth to my daughter a week after you had smoke. I’ve never related to a RU-vidr so much and I have never clicked on a video so fast. Having a newborn is definitely challenging but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. Who knew you could love a human so dang much?!😭💕

So happy to see how settled and calm you both are. Dont mean to interfere but both my nephews had tongue ties, one my sister waited, at 4 my nephew had to have surgery, brutal, then speech therapy. 2nd child surgery at 3 months no issues. Love to the Havens clan.😊

It’s something keep an eye on and trust your gut for sure, my last babe had a lip tie that never interfered with anything whatsoever, but she is eight now and has braces, and just got it snipped😰 I think it’s so relieving to have that I’m completely wholistic, rarely even take ibuprofen lol but I’m on board with getting tongue tie fixed though, they want to latch so bad but can’t😭 it can cause speech impediments down the road oftentimes, statistically speaking at least😰

Our newborn had her tongue tie fixed but it wasn't surgery, it was literally a tiny laser pen at a pediatric dentist. We had to do little mouth stretches with her afterwards that didn't seem to even bug her and it fixed her latch immediately ❤️ I am SUPER weary of medical intervention of any kind and especially after having a home birth having to bring babe in for anything medical was a bummer but it ended up being the right choice for us and saved our breastfeeding journey. She is 2 now and still loves nursing 💕
