Thank you for sharing! How’s the road to the parking? I stayed at Black Mountain last time. Also with a great view and awesome weather watching spot. You even have electricity, so except for water, kind of like glamping like even w WiFi. Still had a great time, love it! Winter hike to Sierra Butte last October(snow/micro spike a must) love it ❤ running down the list if fire look outs to go to!
The 5-mile dirt road was quite the off-road experience. If you have a high clearance car, then you'd be fine though. Awesome! I did a VLOG of Black Mountain Lookout as well. Enjoy your lookout adventures & thanks for your comment!
@@ADayinVLOG Is the road worse than the last 3 miles to the Black Mountain Lookout? I stayed there not too long ago. The last steep rocky section was rough on my small HRV. Thx.
@@changgong123 hard to say which was worse! 🤔 Both were pretty rough on the cars but that Black Mountain path was steeper while Hirz Mountain path was a couple of miles longer. Hope that helps! They’re both amazing lookout spots-super excited for you!
That's a tough call. Typically, minivans aren't known for high ground clearance--it might be risky. I'd recommend you call the number on your reservation to ask their opinion. They're very good at answering the phone. Have a great trip!
@@ForrestBicelooks epic! so bummed we ended up canceling last minute on non related issue. I would just keep an eye on the “smoke” maps as that seems to be on the edge of the (2024) Park fire fall out. Enjoy
