I love the question: What has plants taught you! 🤗 I use my plants as a mirror for my own life and these 6 things came up: 🌱 Plants taught me that it is neccesary to first let go of something before growing better and healthier. (prunning leaves for better bushier growth 😍 🌱 Plant taught me that strong roots are vital for happy healthy growth 🌱 Plants taught me that it is possible to go from rootrot to new strong roots again 🌱 Plants taught me that even thought I look after myself properly, when not placed in the right environment I will not thrive 🌱 Plants taught me that resting season is vital 🌱 Plants taught to be patience and to follow my inner seasons, I cant always expect myself to be on top of everything x
I’d love a video with your mum! And a tour of her garden :) maybe you could also do an update on the plants you left behind and how she’s arranged the atrium since your plants are gone. ❤
Yaaaay!! I stopped the video I was watching to come watch some plant chores. Lol I always tell my husband that I need a clone of myself so one can work and the other do planty stuffs. 🥰💜🌴🌳☘🌿💚
The thing that made me almost stop plants is being in the hospital for 12 days and then not quite having my brain the same after. I feel like I don't know how to or want to take care of my plants the same way. It's been a struggle. So mental health is my answer on that one. Also would love to see a video with your mom! And of your weekend away lol but maybe that's a stretch
The American candies video could be one for Claire & Emma Unplanted. She could give you a "tour" of her favorites from over here and then you both could try candies from other countries. I'd definitely watch that yummy lol.😋
Plants have taught me…..patience. Not to expect roots on my propagations within days - unless it’s Tradescantias of course😉 when I’m using ordinary nursery pots for my Leca, I make extra aeration holes with a little soldering iron. I think the extra holes helps to avoid root rot.
Thanks for videos like these. I have agoraphobia and I have a hard time finding time or even the mental strength to hangout with people. Having you talk about plants and your life feels like I'm sitting in a room with a friend, just getting to listen without worrying about what I have to say to keep the conversation going. I also have ADHD and now the plant obsession makes a lot more sense😂 Hyper-focusing on a hobby is so relatable!! But yeah, these videos are very peaceful for me and I appreciate em' more than you know😊
I would love to see your mom's garden! Also, I would like to see how you organize your cabinet "of chaos", since I struggle to organize my plant supplies and have them shoved in a cabinet as well 😂
Thank you for a great video! 😊I'd love to watch a video like repotting and chatting with your mom or a tour video! Sounds like a lot of fun and very comfy 💚
Happy Birthday to your boyfriend 🎉 I hope you guys have a wonderful time together and don’t worry about your plants, they want you to have a break too! They will be just fine ❤
Since the bottles can look very similar I have an irrational fear that my eye drops are actually super glue. I have to check at least 3 times before I'll put them in my eyes so that I don't accidentally glue my eyes shut. 😬
oh my god hearing you talk about living alone makes me miss it so much. i love livng with my partner but i thrived living in my own home. It was so much easier to be responsible for the household task and not having to work around someone else is such a sweet luxury.
So many questions from your followers. There are a few times where i want to give up on plants. Because of pests and fungus gnats. My biggest fear are spiders especially and heights. The biggest surgery i had was getting my tonsils out and also removing all my teeth when i was 8 and 9. I love savoury food. And i love ice cream and cakes they are my wrakness when comes to having a treat.
Wow, that is a Monica closet, haha. 😂I have one too.😅 I enjoyed this video, I like watching your repotting videos and it was fun getting to know you better.
If you're interested in knowing more about adhd, "Delivered from Distraction" by Edward Halliwell was life changing for me. I was diagnosed at 35 (53 now). My daughter has adhd and dyslexia. It's a whacky, wonderful, weird way to be in the world. Frustrating as anything, too.😂
I've had 4 surgeries, 2 of them major surgeries, and I've never been under anesthesia! I had 2 wisdom teeth extractions (two separate surgeries for top and bottom) and 2 csections!
Yes you are right it is called an endoscopy I was a nurse for gastroenterology for several years if you ever have to have that surgery again or a colonoscopy just give in to the anesthesia it a very mild sedation very easy to wake up from 😊
Nice vid to hear all about you. And yes, watering vid would be nice! (As I know you will talk about each one as you go. Fairly new here. Very enjoyable. Thank you!
The choco doesn’t really need a moss pole. the internodes are so tight and it sizes up nicely without one. I would just give it a bamboo stake or one of those coir poles. I wouldn’t recommend letting it size up too fast either (which it would on a moss pole) because very mature choco leaves sadly aren’t very pretty
You should do an American snacks and candy tasting on Claire and Emma Unplanted!! Skittles. Takis, Nerds, Twizzlers? I'm not sure what is available in UK? I prefer Cadbury to Hersheys too lol 😉🤤
Claire, why dont you use clar pots for orchids? Those that have one pot over the first pot. For plants în pon. I keep my alocasias and anthuriums like this and thats how I see when they need water.
OMG, I feel the same with group chats! I think that, in my case, is because, first: I don't have the option to choose to accept or not the whole "being part of it", for example on whatsapp people can create groups and add you and suddenly you just are part of groups 🙃and second: I haaaate that sometimes they are created for a purpose, such as organizing a baby shower or a bday, but after the "event" people keep talking but about SUPER random things and I'm like: I don't care any of this (and the notifications makes me feel a little bit anxious) but if I leave the group is like kinda "rude" and I'm the kind of person who avoid conflicts 😅🤣 I looove music but I'm not a "festival fan" because I can get very anxious with crowds and/or open spaces BUT I loooove Glastonbury (to me they have THE BEST lineups 😍), I'm from Chile so no chances of going anytime soon, but last year I watched it online and I had such a great time watching Paul McCartney, Phoebe Bridgers, Sam Fender, Lorde, Pet Shop Boys, Jessie Ware and HAIM and this year (next week 😅) I'm planning doing the same: have some chips, beers and watch: Elton John, Rina Sawayama, Blondie, Flo, Lana del Rey, Lil Nas X, Maggie Rogers and Cat Stevens :) And plants have helped me understand and ACCEPT that not everything has to be perfect... accept the imperfections and let it go.
Don’t chop back your piece lily anymore it’s stressed enough just give it a feed and not too much bright light and it will be fine.I’m talking from experience.❤
I have a few odd fears….looking up at the open sky…. I can’t look at it. I get vertigo or feel like I’m falling… it is like reverse scared of heights or something. I am also terrified of sharks. Pictures of sharks make me jump and scream.
Butterflies. I have a completely irrational, but nonetheless over the top extreme fear of butterflies. I was forced to walk in butterfly houses when I was little and I am quite significantly visually impaired, so picture butterflies within that context. They are small, and I tend not to be able to see them with my limited vision. They are light, they weigh almost nothing, and you can’t really feel when one lands on you, so in essence, there’s no way to tell that they are there by sense of touch. They are not birds, they don’t sing or flap their wings loudly, they make no sound, so you can’t hear them. TLDR, can’t see them, can’t hear them, can’t feel them, they are flying ninjas from the seventh circle of hell sent to distract sighted people with their beauty only to bestow their evil upon the world.
Hi Claire! Thanks for the chat 😊 Yeeesss for mommy and mom's garden! 🤩 Btw, not sure if i have missed such a video but would it be possible to have an overview of the predatory insects there are in the market and their pros and cons. Like if they require higher humidity to thrive, availability, price.. i recently saw a video of lacewing larvae and i know if predatory mites ofc but wondering if there are any other options out there, too. Maybe you would know 😊 Have a nice vacation and byeeee!! 💚
Since you adressed it, please let me compliment you on your voice. I can't stand the stereotypical high pitched oftentimes intentionally fake cutesy rubberduck like squeaky voices lots of women use. It's a real joy listening to you, because you have a rather deep voice, it carries a lot of confidence in my opinion. Very glad I found your channel! Best wishes!
I think the one thing that would make me give up plants is if my current collection would somehow die (like most of it, at least) I have a fear that I would need to travel for a long time/to move to a further place/ just won't be able to take care of them..that might break my heart and I'm not sure I'll repurchase all of those plants after that (or maybe I do Idk😅)
Love your Videos! ❤ Yes. I've had many surgeries! Unfortunately. But they did help me! One saved my life. So im not going to complain😁 Ummm 🤔No irrational fears I can think of? Fears yes. Irrational no Keep making your Awesome Videos! Puppy Love and Kisses to Yulie 🐾❤️ ❤️🐾🌿 5:22
Since you've had really good success with Pon... What are your thoughts on switching all plants to pon? I've been considering it because of fungus gnats but I'm nervous to make the switch.
Me and Emma have recently started the channel together: www.youtube.com/@ClaireAndEmmaUnplanted We're still finding our feet with it, but it's most likely going to be conversations on a variety of topics (mental health, daily life/vlogs, interesting debates etc etc) 💚
Yes yes to a repot with your mom! She's so sweet and cool, I remember when she helped you watering you plants when you were on a trip. Love to see the garden!
what about swapping sweets boxes with someone in another country and trying them? :) maybe during a road trip, or vlog... could be tricky during a repot but would be fun!
The only thing I can think of to give up on plants would be poor health. If I became chronically ill and couldn’t care for them. I wouldn’t ask other ppl to care for them for me since that would make it a chore for them and defeat the purpose since I have plants for the plant care hobby not just to look at.
