I was so happy to see a week-of today! I’m dealing with chronic illness and these videos keep me company when I just need to rest. Helps with the loneliness and it feels like there are people around ☺️ I think around 3 hours is great for these videos. I would definitely watch longer ones, but it would be unreasonable to expect you to make videos that long
Same. I have three auto immune diseases, when you have one then you are susceptible to more. Rheumatoid arthritis started when I was a toddler. Thyroid disease around age, fibromyalgia at age 31 and loosing my peripheral vision. I’m being tested for others because I’ve gotten worse as I get older. It’s not fun. People like to think I’m a hypochondriac because it seems like so many different things are wrong with me, but when you look into the autoimmune issues you’ll find out it affects your WHOLE BODY. From mood and mental health, to swelling and aches, stomach problems, always sick, etc. I also have had to stop working so I’ve gotten into plants. It’s something I’m super interested in doing for my mental health and wallet! Charmaine is such an inspiration to me! ❤
I also, have an autoimmune illness. I have Lupus and Charmaine boosted me to get into plants. I also, 💜 her and Alice’s videos. Wishing you better days. You are not alone.
@@unplantparenthood thank YOU for putting in the time & effort to make these awesome videos for us! 🥰 It’s always nice to have company while I do my own planty & other chores ☺️
I always describe having a drink and a cigarette like having an Oreo cookie and milk. They just go together. I quit smoking 19 yrs ago. Wish I could quit Oreos with milk lol
3 hours is prefect for week of’s! I would prefer 4 but I know it’s a lot of work and unrealistic but as long as it’s even around 2-3 is great. We can spend all week with you!
I like to listen to plant chore videos when I am doing plant chores so during the timelapses when theres only music and i'm not looking at the screen, I like it when people break up the timelapses with voice overs explaining whats happening on screen
Hi 👋🏼 in a video I remember you saying if you live in the USA and are struggling with thrips to order a certain product but it’s banned in Canada. I meant to write it down and forgot 😭 on the small chance you see this can you please drop the name? I’m ready to burn all my plants 😭 my fern leaf jungle cactus has it the worst followed by every single anthurium. I wipe the leaves or shower them almost daily but they multiply so so fast
It was bonide systemic granules! But just keep in mind that the active ingredient, imidacloprid, has been found to increase spider mite growth! It’s a nightmare. I recommend spinosad for thrips instead!
@@unplantparenthood thank you so much for answering! I’ll try the later first; I’ve never had spider mites in 3 years *knock on wood 😅* so if it doesn’t work I’ll try the first. Thrips have been my plant babes living hell every winter 😭
Plants do make me happy! It’s actually the one thing that can relieve my stress more than anything. I just have a lot going on in my personal life that I haven’t shared.
I have a Chinese crested dog. She's nearly hairless and a lot of people say she's ugly 😤🤬 I totally understand you feeling protective about Pudge! If you want me to turn into a raging crazy person.... talk smack about my Pippa.... I'll fight you 😤 👊 #dogmomsunite Edit to say that everyone can have there own opinion but if it's hateful, keep your piehole shut!!!
i'm right there with you! whenever i defend pudge on this channel, usually they reply with "i'm entitled to my opinion" in which i reply that i'm entitled to not care about their opinion on my channel (or in general to be honest) 🤪
Meh. They’re pretty, but not worth the time investment for me between the leaves consistently getting stuck and reverting leaves. It was easy for my to get rid of mine.
I quit vaping this year as well and it was way harder than quitting cigs, I was at 0 nicotine but still sucked on that thing all day long. I totally get it, so glad you stopped!
Do a December Christmas vlog. Last year Kevin did a Christmas vlog. It was great. He filmed setting up his Christmas tree, baking and other things plus plant things. It was great. It was thirty days of videos. Some were plenty short. But I know it was exhausting to him. I’m not suggesting you do one everyday for thirty days. But a Christmas vlog would be great
I work in the insurance industry in Canada, and what was mentioned applies to BC specifically :) other provinces aren’t all one government insurance! It’s super interesting seeing how it works on the opposite side of the country from me ☺️
I love you and your videos so much. But I was watching your videos the other day, and someone said that the white yingyang monstera shirt looked like sperm swimming around, and now i cant unsee it 😂 xxxx
Hi! I think you’ve talked about this before, so forgive my pea brain. But did you just pull your anthuriums out and put them on the shelf? Or has there been an acclimation process? My plants are getting way too big for my cabinet 😂 I’ve been taking them out for an hour or two everyday but I’m over it 😭
❤ Holy crap just got to the Amanda part. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. It’s like Picture in Picture in Picture reverse picture 😂 Holy crap we see bunny!!!!
What the stuffing is the best part of the turkey otherwise is dry without. The Erin every day gravy granules is the best. I actually don’t like roast ham or ham in general. Roast Beef is also delicious. We have the Chinese Thanksgiving dinner Chinese Foods like duck, fish, mushrooms with seeweed thing dish, Abalone and roast pork. And Christmas Day the traditional Christmas foods.
I hope you can answer this question for me please. I have 1 Monstera deliciosa and its younger like a tad over 1 year old ,Its healthy and happy, but when I watered it today(its in a glazed terra cotta pot, with a dish to catch water). I looked in the catching dish to make sure water came out the bottom to assure my plant got watered enough, I SEE WHITE TINY TINY BUGS that seem to be soil bugsIn the excess water thats in the catcher dish thing.Question is can a person take neem oil and dilute with water and kill those buggers. My dirt is coco coir, bark, and perlite. Pacific Northwest bought but here in Az .I looked up and it says soil bugs like bark.I made my bark concoction and as said its happy and green and NO BUGS on the plant itself
@@emilianoglz9704I second this! Springtails can be a sign that the soil stays too wet so I would slow down on the watering a bit and just have an eye on the plant 😊 Edit: but yes, watering with neemoil will probably kill most bugs if you think they are harming your plant
I third springtails! Whenever I find them, I try to add them to plants that are looking kinda yucky to clean out the substrate a bit. But if they bother you and you don’t want them in the house, I’ve used isopropyl alcohol in the past or any kind of pesticide you might have in the house!
I'm sorry you've been feeling poorly and I hope you feel better! 💚 I appreciate your long videos and love listening and watching, it spurs me to do some plant chores myself.
I would like to have the two brown shelfs matching instead of having the black one or one that fits majority of the wall space. Other option is would do is actually have the TV that side with a tv stand. And have the plants on the other side of the room where you have the natural light for the plants. You have a massive glass window on the other side of the room too. Pity the other side of the room wall is concrete not white aswell. I would put flowing shelfs there.
Two brown shelves was my first option too. Unfortunately I can’t find it anymore online, and the last time I checked it was over $1K. Not worth it in my opinion! I actually like the way it turned out though. It’s not ideal, but it looks nice and fits all the plants :)
2 hours is perfect for me, i'm struggling to fit in the 3.5 hrs right now. Have to watch it in batches rn 😂 but i'm not complaining, i'll watch it anyway 😘
Losing that hoya cabinet looks like you gained so much square footage in your plant room! Isn't it funny how a person's taste evolves over the years? Initially I was all about pothos, philodendrons, and snake plants and could not understand the hype about hoyas. Now I'm all about hoyas and am trying, not very successfully, to understand the anthurium hype. No doubt I'll soon move on to anthuriums. And on and on and on. It's crazy! Thanks for these long form videos. I learn so much.
I have 15 anthurium seedlings that right after they germinated and gave me 1 little leaf they were taken out of their greenhouse conditions the ambient humidity fluctuates between 40%-70% in my sunroom. 😊
Much as I love watching you, 8 eight hours would be too much. Three hours, I break it up into parts while I watch/listen to tv shows or the news. Does that help. If it’s an hour, I’ll watch all the way through.
Nope it’s not crazy to want a third table. Perfect would be a “u” shaped table. When I was a nurse in a nursing home they had these big tables that were “u” shaped. The feeder sat on the I side and the outside were patients that needed to be fed. That way the feeder could feed multiple people at once. You need that kind of table. But three of those tables you already have would be great.
Well if you’re only going to wear it in a bun you might as well ask Alice to cut it for you. I used to cut my own. I divided my hair into two strips of hair and put rubber bands around the hair at equal distance from the ends. Then I cut it off just above the rubber bands.
Another comment lol. I’m still new to semi hydro. I’m a noob. (I love this vid btw)! I have a small Monstera Mint Plantlet. Can I add to Leca now. They are the average sized balls? The root system is still small
I paid around $300 for my shelf years ago.. now the same shelf is over $1K?! I’m so confused. I also ordered one that used the same picture from the original listing last year, and when it arrived it was a totally different colour haha. So I had to return it 🤦🏻♀️ I actually used to have a second identical shelf and I sold it when we moved and it’s one of my BIGGEST regrets ever. All that to say.. I feel ya!! Everything is so expensive right now. I paid $5 for a mango and it wasn’t even good 😩
What if you put your huge thai by the floor where the shelf once was? I know you want more walk space but at least it doesn't take up as much vertical space as the shelf that was there.
The wingspan is too big to go on the floor unfortunately (and I also have a weird thing about plants on the floor 😆) but I realized I could put it in my plant room once a new leaf comes out and swap it out for the smaller plants that are in there!
