you are the first video i have watched since the passing of my daughter from copd [ lung and heart ] and you have put a smile on my face again thank you Grumpy shoot straight
Very sorry to hear about your daughter Ray. My condolences go out to you and your family. At the very least I am glad to hear the videos can bring a bit of joy in such a hard time. Really appreciate it and wish you well.
Dude you're my favorite spearfishing RU-vidr be safe out there man. I'm glad you had buddies there to help you out. You coulda knocked yourself out for sure. Then I would have to watch aquantic apes or something. Lol
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! Lol feedback for music/no music goes back and forth, had a lot preferring the natural sounds but I definitely like to change it up. Makes editing more enjoyable and adds a cool feel I think.
@@BradenDives Your buddy who was on the ball gets kudos for being there and helping you out. I can't make out how you got cut on the noggin. Did the gun get you or the supports of the rig ?... Glad you're ok bro.
Earned yourself a new subscriber! This was wicked to see. From the first spot to the second oil rig- i was not prepared for that clarity! Love how you explain everything. Lots of great information for anyone who wants to spearfish. Ive been petrified of diving an oil rig and this just made it seem more calming and enjoying watching. Got me thinking.. Crazy us humans built oil rigs that go that deep... Such a great video man
Really appreciate the kind words! Thanks for hopping on board with the channel! Glad to hear you like the explanation as well. Diving the rigs is an awesome experience, I for sure feel more protected than diving open water. It is crazy that these rigs are out in that deep!
After many years I have decided to get back into the love of freediving and spearfishing. To that end I am setting up a 150cm rob allen as a roller gun. I noticed your rollar has blue collared bands on it. Are those rob allen bands? I was told they make poor bands for rollars since they are too tight and not quite stretchy enough. I am shopping for the bands now.
Nice video and trip man. Need to carry a set of game shears on your boat and trim off the fins off that lion fish before ya throw it in your fish bag. They will go plumb through that bag. I have shot 1000s of them in the keys when we go to visit. They are great to eat and your doing the enviroment a favor since they are an invasive species here in the gulf. Ps they make a product we carry called Sting Master. It helps 100 times over if you ever do get stuck. Great on jellyfish and firecoral stings as well.
Awesome bro! Would you recommend a Rob Allen tuna rail gun 120cm? Are they any good? Also how do you avoid the bends bro? I’m planning on spearfishing soon!
Thank you! That will be a great gun to get going with. Can get you doing everything. We don’t get the bends from freediving as we’re not breathing in compressed air!
loving the extra camera angle youve got going on with the videographer adds a nice touch! But, if hes starting to come along with you more maybe invest in a gimble? for those super smooth and clean shots.. will up the game even further.. some of the shots on the camera are in and out of focus very slightly
Thank you! Really appreciate it. The gun did have a reel, but I was grabbing the line to try and keep it from running and tangling up- and to keep it away from the sharks as best I could.
Your dive videos are always so epic! I would love to dive some oil rigs like that one day. Btw I really like your boat 🛥️ epic shot from the drone 👍🏻Looks like it would perform well in the rough seas often seen in the channel between islands here in Maui county. What kind of boat is that?
Don’t usually comment. But the lionfish are venomous not poisonous. That’s why for a long time people didn’t eat them. If they were poisonous you wouldn’t be able to eat them I love fried lionfish Great eating and can take coolers full of them no qualms with game wardens. But still awesome video brother. Keep it up
Nice work on the AP. Suggestion next school, cause we hunt them a lot in NC. If you turn around and they are coming at you, stop and sit completely still, and look away and maybe give the squid fingers. They’ll normally come right to you in perfect range. Often they turn for a sec and then turn right back at you.
Sorry, also, if they don’t come in range don’t shoot a far shot, super slowly rise and signal another diver to dive. They’ll normally follow you up a little, and the diver passing you on his way down can get good shot.
This might be asking a lot as I know filming and editing is already a tremendous amount of work, but it would be super cool if you had a dive timer and a depth showing on the video as you take these dives just for total noobs like me who are never going to go spearfishing nor free diving And also for people that are interested to have an idea of how deep and how long you are free diving. Just wanted to throw in the suggestions box because I love your videos, but I think it would be a real cool add-on.
Randomly found you on youtube today and man your content is awesome! You are lucky to do all these dives. Keep those awesome vids comin. Stay safe bro!
Welcome aboard! Really appreciate that. We have to run super far out, but we are lucky to have it no doubt. I try to take advantage of it! Got more vids in the works coming out soon.
I don’t know if you’ll see this but when you shoot a lion fish cut off the spines right when you shoot it so you don’t have a risk of getting yourself poked by your self. I do it every time and it makes it easier grabbing it out of the cooler and filleting it
@@BradenDives thanks man! I wanted to know the first one in particular, so no worries about the others. Love your content and I’m gonna get into freediving as well.
Thank you! First line of action I’d say would be radio, then garmin inreach (satellite messenger), and in case of emergency that has SOS, as well as epirb. Looking at going the twin engines route though!
Mainly all depends on time of year and weather conditions. It can get crazy good in one place and be bad in another. But most consistent is South Padre since it drops off deeper, quicker there. Hit up George at Texas Blue water spearfishing and he’ll get you out!
That’s what I assumed. I used to live in McAllen and would go to SPI regularly just never spent much time in the water. Yea I actually just messaged him on IG. Going to plan a trip this summer. Thanks man. Your content is awesome!
Really appreciate it! Initially I wasn’t going to but figured the water was clean enough to not worry. Hard to resist when I heard Fisher saw an AP lol..
@@BradenDives I'm sure you already know, but The Movement is also good. Also, not in the same island reggae genre but similarly chill vibe is an older group Pinback.
We equalize our ears from the pressure when descending down. You can look up equalization for diving to learn more about it. As far as the rest of our body, it adapts naturally. Peripheral vasoconstriction plays a big role- blood from the extremities is brought to the vital organs, the lungs are filled with blood to not get crushed from pressure. It’s very interesting- and crazy to think our bodies automatically adapt!
Anytime working around structural steel a hard hat of some sort is pretty much a necessity. Imagine you blacked out and where deeper not a good thing be careful out there man
Yo my fellow spear-fisherman, The reason your prize fish are headed away from you is they have been shot at before. Take it from someone who has fished the keys and watched jew fish follow the guy with the speargun so he can hijack your kill. If you want to go sometime come to Bradenton and look for captain Dlip from Hardbottom. No Bananas!
Great spearfishing content! I just dropped my first spearfishing video as it was my first time going. such a gnarly experience, I'd love for you to check it out!
All that fish y'all spear know you eating them so why don't you do more catch clean and cook's I know how many of you catch the same fish so without the catch clean and cook it's just another video
