We had some errands to run, but kinda fun errands, and also we wanted to celebrate finalizing our house!! Technically we still have to find a company to do the outside (like the driveway/deck, etc), which we're working on now. But it's HUGE weight off not having to think about the house itself anymore! We'll also keep you guys updated on the house construction itself!

Thanks Vessi - click here www.vessi.com/racheljun and use my code RACHELJUN to get $25 off of your shoes. Still losing my mind over them actually being waterproof lol PLEASE TURN ON ENGLISH SUBTITLES FOR THE JAPANESE PART I can't believe we finally finalized our house design! 😩 In the time it took us to make our decisions, we know someone else who DECIDED TO BUILD A HOUSE here, chose their land and house company, designed the house, built the house, AND MOVED IN. The two extreme ends of building a house here, lmao. I think we're going to love it, though. We need to make a video with advice for anyone else who might want to build a house here one day!

If you are taking down trees to build your house, a carpenter might be interested in the lumber. Upcycling! Wood counters are very high maintenance, but that carpenter seems like an amazing craftsman. I would definitely buy from him, even if it's a table or chairs instead of a fussy counter. Either way, I'm sure he can tell you exactly what to do for maintenance. Are you going to use your deck as the roof of your carport?

@@animeloverXinuyasha Don't have them myself so I don't have the specifics for you, but there should be a protective coating that needs to be reapplied every now and then. For decks and other wooden outdoor things I believe it's every few years, but there should be a different food-safe type for countertops, not sure how often you're meant to reapply (probably more often tho since the outdoor stuff is presumably heavier-duty than a food-safe kind). Main function is to stop moisture from getting in/out of the wood, which I believe is to prevent warping, but I'm definitely not an expert.

*MOST* of the *venomous* snakes would run away from humans, and try not to engage in a fight. Unless they feel threatened like any other animal, thats when they start attacking. Most of them can be left alone. If their inside your house, just call someone (more preferably a professional) to take them away, instead of killing them. When ur terrified of them, they are also terrified of you😂 feelings mutual mate😂 Edit: highlighted the word *most* so misunderstanding can be prevented. There are *venomous* snakes that bites intentionally(i.e disturbances in their natural habitat or REVENGEEE FOR KILLING THEIR FRIEND BOB😂). Especially as taipans are the most venomous in the world~ But the ones that get in shoes aren't often as dangerous, they're usually carpet or tree pythons which can sometimes make you sick but won't harm you too much. It's the king brown snakes you have to watch as they are quite common, hard to spot, like to hide around houses sometimes and can kill you! But we also have a snake here called a red-belly black snake that we're always taught to leave alone, because they're the king browns only natural predator. With the wood be careful to make sure its coated well i have a desk that is live edge and the coating was absorbed into the wood a lot and so it can be damaged a little bit in certain spots. And when it gets too wet it likes to come off like erraser shavings

hello friends yes it is true that a recent trend in America is people stealing packages off porches. I don't know why thieves are so brazen and reckless that they will steal postal deliveries in broad daylight off of front porches. I hate porch pirates.
@adde9506
@adde9506 3 года назад
It doesn't help that the people delivering the packages often leave them where they aren't supposed to. Amazon leaves all our stuff and our neighbors stuff by the mailboxes, usually in a puddle. They are instructed to put them on the porch, any porch, seriously it doesn't have to be the right porch... just not alone next to the road looking like they belong to no one.
@gwillis01
@gwillis01 3 года назад
@@adde9506 I am sorry to say that it is the package delivery service, such as FEdEx or UPS, that is to blame for putting your packages in a puddle or in a place by the side of the road where they are in danger of being run over. The expensive solution is to rent a storage locker at the closest UPS brick and mortar store. Your package stays inside a building away from the weather. Then you pick up the package and do the last little bit of the journey yourself instead of trusting the driver on the local route that includes your house.
@adde9506
@adde9506 3 года назад
@@gwillis01 Amazon delivers their own stuff. It's the gray amazon vans that do this. I've seen them. USPS, FedEx, and UPS all leave them on a porch, might be the wrong porch, but we're good with that. The problem is that the instructions are there, they are clear, and leaving a package in a puddle is just rude. The solution isn't to spend large amounts of money to make sure cheap purchases don't get ruined. The solution is to simply take my business elsewhere. Which I have done, even if my neighbors have not.
@themagitechie9955
@themagitechie9955 3 года назад
@@adde9506 If you have a problem with how Amazon delivers your packages, you could try their hub lockers for small enough packages. just go to the locker, pull up the delivery email on your phone, and show the barcode to the scanner. No risk of porch pirates and no additional charge. you may have to go get it yourself, but I think it's worth looking at.

@@xXbubbelXx Package lockboxes are one solution that can be installed, but they require a key for retrieval and said key has to be shared with parcel delivery companies. Another option is having the packages delivered elsewhere, such as your place of employment, an Amazon delivery site, P.O. box, or FedEx/UPS location. Most people don't bother though because ... we're lazy?
