A day out moving snow with my tractor. Advantage of a snow blade over a bucket. 

Yes the scenery is beautiful but the economy is depressed and you can't eat scenery.

They work really good and the money it saves is justified. When I scrape the driveways down with the bucket I would fetch up solid on rocks frozen in the ground. Even when at crawling speeds I would come to a terrible high impact abrupt stop. As apposed to the bucket, the plow trips and I don't feel any impact on the tractor thus it save wear and tear. My only regret is I didn't buy the heavier duty HLA 2000 series with hydraulics instead of the HLA 1000 which is a manual angle and lighter duty than the HLA2000.

@@LostCaper for sure hydraulic would be really nice. I was hoping to find an old used unit. we don't get much snow here so its hard to justify the money for a new one. some winters we get no snow at all. on the other hand we are suppose to get a snow storm starting in the next couple of hours. not sure how much we will get or how long it will stick around.

@@daveknowshow Well you could move here then you could justify purchasing a snow plow or you could enjoy being in a nice warm climate and play with a backhoe. If I were to pick one I would be somewhere's warm.. but this is home so a relocate is not in the near plans. Winter came very early this years. A count of four snow storms and it’s only Dec 8. Although I find snow removal relaxing and is good to supplement my pension, the winter’s rathe dilly-dallied my fall plans to build a green house and start my log cabin. If no more snow accumulates and the ground freezes I will get to harvest next years firewood and cut the spruce logs required for my cabin and green house. But as for yesterday, I had to settle my mind on the task of snow removal.

Yep. Some of the most beautiful in the world. I never stopped loving it.

I enjoy playing on my tractor but it is about enjoying the life my tractor helps me build. It supplements my income by doing jobs around the community, it is the tool that I need to efficiently reclaim land, build a cabin, construct roads, harvest firewood, and put in a garden. Hopefully this will result in a more self reliant life.

I assume you are saying wow to the scenery?

Yes. That’s an awesome area! Must be so nice to watch it come to life in the morning as the sun rises with a 360 degree view from the tractor ; )

@@CashJohnston I really enjoy it. Sometimes the sun makes a glow on the top of the mountains or through the trees if I am in the woods. My favourite part of the day. I love the mornings. I am an early riser but struggle to stay awake past 9 p.m.

No I never really did a review of my snow plow but to answer your question, I don't wish it was any bigger but I do wish I got a heavier duty model with hydro angling. It was a quick purchase for me. HLA makes good stuff and it performed how I expected it to. The reason why I bought it was price, was the only one at the deanship that day and it is light so easy on the front end. I was doing a few driveways so the hydro angle would of been nice and quicker to get the driveway done. If you are just doing your own driveway the manual angle would suffice for sure. I may upgrade to a hydro angling one that is heavier duty.
