Matt the quality of that video package right from the opening slow-mo scenes to the finish (including the editing) is simply 'par excellence' and would be the envy of any commercial television production on the planet. Did you notice on the drone footage at 25:30 just after your brother hooked that GT the size of the absolute behemoth that appeared from underneath it and was in the shot staying deep for three to four seconds before turning away. There is your 40Kg Banger!!
thanks a lot mate. filmed one day edited the next haha getting pretty efficient these days. that's exactly why its so hard to catch big fish in fuzy schools there is just too many hungry smaller fish and then with the drone you see the true monsters come out.

You should try a slimy mackerel in the smoker. They are definitely better than you would think. But oily fish taste better and the little slimeys seem to be sweeter than the bigger varieties.
I'm not a religious man but I'm praying that when I die, I don't go to heaven, I get to go fishing with Matt because if this isn't heaven on earth, I don't know what is!!! 🙏

Getting bit emotional watching that one. Me and my bro just did a trip out on Big Cat to Swains. Was the best. Didn’t get the GT for me or dream Spanish for him but is was still the best week of my life. Cannot wait to try again. Good on you for looking after the bro.
Good morning Professor , At the beginning of the video, we can see the 3 boats on the plane mode. When I was doing a course of Boat Handling , the first stage was on a Zodiac , rising to a vessel. On the Zodiac, I learned that, when tilting/lifting the engine slightly upwards , it helped for the boat to “plane” , as the angle engine/hull was as such that the boat would then “plane” which easily. Considering this , (if you understood what I meant) , do you practice this? , did you know this? and if you knew about it , what is your thought about it? Surprised you're not aware that touching fishes gills often kills them. If you can avoid touching them/holding them by the gills when you intend on releasing them you'll massive increase their chance of survival. Never touch a fishes gills.
Hey PP - Serious question here!. I am moving up to Northern QLD soon, and would like to know you honest opinion on some of the best boasts for exploring the outer reef. I am looking at boats that I can explore almost anywhere, go for unlimited time - I will have a desalination system, top solar system, fridge etc, etc. Do you have any recommendations on brands/models upto 250K?.
