I love this rendition of the phantom. Love Sierra and Karimloo but also I would like to have a DVD/BLURAY with the full show with Norm Lewis. I think he did it great and his performance was relevant beacause he was the first African American in Broadway to play the role. Besides that he was a baritone when generally the people who played tha part were tenor.
He looked like a younger Bill Cosby for a second when that bald cap was first put on. He's amazing and probably should have been cast much sooner. People still need to recognize Robert Guillaume as the first African American Phantom.
0:01 Norm Lewis Also Played The Role Of King Triton From Disney's The Little Mermaid The Broadway Musical In 2008 Based On The Academy Award Winning 1989 Walt Disney Pictures Animated Family Musical Blockbuster Movie And Hans Christian Andersen's Classic Novel Of The Same Name. Thanks Mate. X
Norm, can you tell the ushers at the Majestic to be quiet during the show. I saw the show back in September and they were talking during the opening scene.
Kevin Whitmer My mom was the one who told me that Robert was the first African-American Phantom. She never said whether he was on Broadway, Off-Broadway, West End, etc. Norm Lewis was the African-American Phantom on Broadway. Sorry about that.
Michael Dillon Yeah, I looked it up. Thanks for the correction. My mom had told me that Robert was the first African-African Phantom, and I thought that meant the first African-American Phantom anywhere. Thanks! Have a great day!
Adrian Ghandtchi Private lessons? Seriously, I’ve thought what you’re thinking too. If I knew before, drama would definitely be what I chose to do in college. It’s hopeless now...
