Been waiting for this quest! Always nice to see someone who stops and smells the roses a bit and doesn’t just get to the end of the game in a month! (☉д⊙)
Yes, the crew of the Astral Express (and Himeko in particular, as the navigator) are considered extremely VVIPs by much of the universe, and the IPC is no exception. Anywhere the Astral Express goes, it lays down "star rails" that enable faster-than-light travel. When the Express first took flight, these rails were the only way people could travel between worlds in any way that was actually functional. Even these days, with more advancements allowing people to travel without them, the star rails are still the most efficient means of travel in terms of time, safety, expenses, etc. As such, anywhere the Express goes (or rather, anywhere Himeko allows it to go) becomes drastically more capable of interastral communication and travel. When Akivili died hundreds of years ago and the Express fell into ruin, it also caused many of the Star Rails to fall apart. This is why Jarilo-VI was cut off from the rest of the universe, as were many other worlds. Because we vistited Belobog, the star rail was repaired and the IPC finally regained access to the planet. Along with fixing these, we are also making new ones with every detour we take. As far as the IPC is concerned, that also means we are adding entire planets to their customer base every time we take a pitstop, so they have a major reason to want to see us keep flying... as far as the IPC is concerned, we are a mobile billboard with a 100% success rate of creating buyers just by being near people (much less being seen) and it didn't cost them a single cent.
Revisiting the Aventurine introduction here after being caught up with the story is very interesting. So much information they just throw at you but we lack the context, but it lines up nicely with the events.
Thanks so much for doing this quest! I’m a Topaz main, because I love running around the world with Numby following me. This quest is one of the quests I recommend doing before going to Penacony. I also recommend doing March’s quest at the Luofu before doing Penacony, if you haven’t already.
Oh, and Dr. Ratio’s quest. I know you’ve already done Ruan Mei’s quest, but I’m not sure if you’ve done Dr. Ratio’s quest yet. I would recommend doing his before Penacony.
I'm no expert in interastral law, but didn't the IPC essentially break their contract by not collecting the dept within the specified 280 years? You can't just say the planet's dead (not even checking it) and wait for hundreds of years of dept to add up... Plus; If they write the world off as dead, the dept would probably have to be changed into being considered a business expense and reopening it would essentially be like fixing their books or some kind of fraud or misconduct. This sounds more like Wild West Rules than Aeon of Preservation... Calling it now; Aha is secretely pulling the IPC's strings! 🤡
On top of that, trying to scare the leader to basically sell the whole population of the planet into slavery does not really soud very preservative to me either. The problem is, the IPC is so rich and powerful, who is gonna stop them? They make the rules they enforce the rules and they have no overarching authority over them to mitigate if they overstep or overextend their power. Sad example of runaway corpocracy.
The contract is probably weighted significantly into IPCs favor - the Architects 700 years ago were fighting off the Legion, so I doubt they had a choice. Plus nobody expected that Alisa Rand would unleash the Stellaron, bringing the eternal freeze to the planet
Shining (and terrifying) example of runaway corpocracy. The IPC makes the rules, the IPC enforces the rules and they have no overarching authority to put them in place if they misuse their power.
Shining and terrifying example of runaway corpo-cracy (funny how YT autocensores this word without hyphen). The IPC makes the rules, they enforce the rules and there is no overarching authority to stop them if they misuse or overextend their power.
Shining and terrifying example of runaway corporate authority. Funny how YT does not like me talking about it, I had to rewrite this comment 3 times before it passed the automatic censorship. The IPC makes the rules, they enforce the rules and there is no overarching authority to stop them if they misuse or overextend their power.
Great video Zora, as always! Topaz looks cool, too bad the first time we meet her she tries to scare Bronya into selling the population of the whole planet into slavery (you can call it indentured servitude, but that's just another way of saying the same thing). I really wanted to like her, but... Yeah.
@@lazaruslong697 I will tell you what to do, because someone has to let you know you're being ignorant. If you're gonna listen or not is not anyone's problem but yours, doesn't matter to me.
@@lazaruslong697 blud really thinks saying there's nothing comparable to slavery is high horse. I already told you, not my problem, but if you can't hear yourself even after writing this reply for no reason you might be too far gone.
I’m not even sure you can go to Penacony without doing this quest first. I did this quest when it first came out, so I had it done by the time Penacony came along. There are a lot of companion quests that either act as epilogues to the earlier main story arcs, and/or integral to what we have so far of the Penacony arc.
The AI outrage is old news by now, you can accept it. Take it from an artist. There's nothing wrong with it generally, just some usages are unethical but not for stuff like this. Really, a thumbnail?
