From knowing nothing to the final day on set, Kit Harington looks back at his time playing Jon Snow on Game of Thrones in this extended edition of Season 8’s “The Cast Remembers” behind-the-scenes series.
@Whiskey That was a rumor from tabloid. No major media had reported this because it was so fake. It was impossible for him to date another woman without anyone found out. There were no whiteness or evidence at all. The woman who lied about this had only one pixelated image of an unrecognizable man. So please don't spread rumor like this. Kit and Rose deserve a happy and private life with their newborn baby. And I wish them all the best.
He’s not criticizing how it was written. Simply saying that Jon was right and him and Jon don’t agree with her bc he asked her what to do and she didn’t say anything and almost caused his death, that’s part of the Jon Sansa relationship
@@PiepMiau04 no not at all. it’s when the character does something that’s wrong. Characters do things that are wrong. And what I’m addressing is that Kit never said anything criticizing the writing he was saying he doesn’t understand why she did that to him which makes sense bc Jon also feels that way. It’s all part of Sansa and Jons complex sibling relationship. Ask a Sansa fan they’ll defend her there all day lol. Sansa asked Jon for forgiveness about not telling him in 6x10 bc she knew she was wrong and regretted not telling Jon.
@@reenabiju2939 just bc she did something stupid doesn’t mean it’s bad writing. Lots of characters make bad decisions. And it was in character for her. Maybe bc of her history she didn’t trust Jon, didn’t trust littlefinger to come etc. she apologized for it telling him and said it was wrong, he said they need to trust each other. It’s all part of their relationship, I side with Jon though of course lol
Me too😭 he was comforting him, it reminded me of Davos taking care of Jon when he comes back to life and when he almost died after falling in the lake ❤️
And guess what ? David Benioff who was the captain of the ship, responsible for all these people stood there like a statue, it should've been him, If not give a hug or comfort him like Liam could've said a thank you at the least .. success and fame got to their head in the end they were acting like GoT was a burden
Jon’s death for me, just rewatched it and I cried. cry every time 💔❤️ but for Jon my heart broke for him when he held her in his arms and then again later..
Until you remember that Ygritte went on a mass murdering rampage before she was killed. After she killed all the villagers in The Gift and Molestown, I had no sympathy for her. Jon should have been careful about who he hooks up with. Each time he dumped his girlfriend they killed as many people as possible before they themselves were killed.
The death that got to me the most... weirdly enough... was White Rat's death. That was devastating.. not because he was an important character (he wasn't) and most people probably don't even know who I'm talking about (the unsullied killed in the brothel)... but I just felt so bad for this man who has known only torture, suffering and violence his whole life... just wanted a mother-like figure to sing to him softly while caressing his head. And they cut his throat.
I totally would have seen the end of Jon Snow's story as King of the North, met and hopefully starts finds love again with another young girl who is the bastard daughter of Robert Baraetheon that resembles in personality both of the women in his life that are Dany and Ygritte,Sansa is his hand of the king of the north and Tyrion his master of war and master of coin of the king of the north, the banners of house targaryen next to the banners of house stark on winterfell, everyone hailing him king of the north
There will be more fights to come! House Glover will stand behind House Stark as we have for a thousand years, and I will stand behind Jon Snow, THE KING IN THE NORTH!
"We know no King but the King in the North who's name is Stark! I don't care that he is a bastard. Ned Stark's blood runs through his veins. He's my king from this day until his last day!"- Lady Lyanna Mormont of Bear Island.
D&D really did him bad in the final season. Jon deserved so much more and Kit deserved so much more for portraying Jon perfectly all these years. True King.
Do you remember in episode one he wanted to be in the night watch? Don't confuse what you wanted for him with what Jon wanted, he ended up exactly where he always wanted to be.
@@gudhaxer41343 I have read the books, sure if he grew up knowing he wasn't a bastard maybe he would have wanted to be a king but he didn't. Jon from the books: "He wanted to ride with Benjen Stark on his rangings, deep into the mysteries of the haunted forest"... Last scene of the show: Jon riding into the haunted forest...
@@BernardoPC117 Jon from the books partly joins the Night's Watch specifically because it's a place where his bastardy won't stop him from rising high. Also Jon from the books: "He wanted it, Jon knew then. He wanted it as much as he had ever wanted anything. I have always wanted it, he thought, guiltily. May the gods forgive me." - A Storm of Swords, when Stannis asks him to kneel, in return offering him legitimacy to rise as Jon Stark, Lord of Winterfell.
@@BanesBasement Ned is the one who told him "even a bastard may rise high in the Night’s Watch" not Jon, he even told Sam "I never asked for this" when Sam told him Mormont was grooming him for command. And the second part, keep reading after the quote you mentioned when he's looking at Ghost's eyes and he realizes it wasn't really what he wanted because the fact is, he refused Stannis.
@@davecullins1606 We all know this. We all watched the finale season. It's just a nice phrase, that I chose to say about Jon Snow. C'mon Friend. I think we need to tone it down a bit. I am not the enemy here. OK? If you are looking to bully someone on the internet, there are plenty of people online that hates Game of Thrones, that you can direct your negative energy on. I am quite sure that those folks will oblige you. I on the other hand, am not one of them. Not everybody is the enemy.
@Sebastian Hackembruch lol we didn't have a problem with that, only if they hadn't given him 4 lines throughout the last season. The execution was terrible 😐.
@Sebastian Hackembruch I meeeeeeean...wouldn't that kinda be the biggest possible twist he could do, especially with how the show already handled it. If there's one thing people know about Got and Martin, it's that the good guys can die, things end in a bittersweet fashion (and to be brutally honest it's such a cynical bleak outlook on humanity that it starts to really be a turd in the punch bowl of this amazing world he created), and those things are constant and persistent. Wouldn't the biggest twist he could do be to give *one* character *one* awesome ending *one* thing to make all these years as fans seem more worth it? I am firmly on board the "aragorn ending" train lmao
literally crying at the last part when he was giving the speech. Jesus I loved this show so much. Nothing else like this in entertainment man. MORE. MOOOOORRE!
@@davidanalyst671 I agree the show ended horribly. But, most of the series was honestly some of the best that has ever been on TV. We can hope the spin-off will be held to the same standard as the first couple of seasons.
@@bongzilla4172 it wont. the first 6 seasons were GRRM books. everything after that was Dan and Dave. all the reunions, all the gatherings in the dragon pit, all the time travelling, all that bullcrap was the creation of dan and dave. the complete dismissal of dorne, which had troops that could have surrounded kings landing,,, that was all dan and daves screwups. You can keep your hopes high, but your hopes will be dashed on season 1 episode 1 of the next tv show
The scene where Kit express his gratitude is so touching. We can see that he speaks with his heart and that GOT was not just a job for him. We love you Kit
I can't stop mourning over the fate of this incredible character. He rose from a bastard to a true hero, he showed bravery, honesty, loyalty, and so many characteristics of a true leader. The best scenes are at hardhome, in the battle of bastards and my favourite- speech after the long night. That speech made me think: this is the true king in the north. What they did to him in the end is just unforgivable!!!
His last speech on set was a pain to watch ...i literally cried watching that piece of clip ...and here they putting a little piece of it ...and i m all broken
Yes. I cried the first time too in the documentary and literally every time I watch his last day. So moving, his love for Jon ❤️ I could see his heart break when they said “your watch is ended”
no its not. they did the story line in one episode to get it out of the way. Jon snow and rickon should have at least tried to change directions, no army in the world tries to actually surround another army like that. (thats only what they do in movies) sansa wasnt believable when she secretly brought in the knights of the vale. Remember, she was dumb as dirt in the first 7 seasons of GOT, and suddenly shes double-crossing jon snow for influence over the north. and the giant went into battle empty handed.
Omg I know I realized that in the Last Day on Set video, she cried so much at what he was saying. Maybe seeing him cry made her cry. Davos was getting emotional too 💗
@@devenfeldstein9796 Liam reaching out to Kit with the same loving approach that Sir Davos would have reached out to Jon Snow. Their relationship in the show always made me tear up. 😢
Love love love you Kit Harrington. Thank you for bringing Jon Snow into our lives like noone else ever could. You are the heart of Game of Thrones, the hero of Westeros and the true King of dramatic cinema. Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy❤
Mine too💗 Best character in GoT and ever. I just watched him come back to life in my rewatch. And it was like getting the hope in the story back 😭🙏🏼 This show wouldn’t be a show without Jon.
I can't believe 10 years has gone so fast. I miss not not knowing what was going to happen, I miss waiting for the new episodes and immerse myself in the story, I miss all the wow moments and the discussions around it. I miss eveything about this show.
Kit’s speech at the end was eerily similar to Jon, emotionally exhausted from everything. There are obvious shortcomings with the final two seasons that fans have often talked about. But, I was pleased that Jon survived and was back with Ghost. I just wish he could’ve been given a happier ending in which he would not feel tormented for the rest of his days since he did more than any other character to save Westeros, a place that viewers grew to love. Jon is a fictional character, obviously, but fictional characters can be role models. Jon certainly set a high ethical standard of how to treat others and sacrifice personal benefit for the greater good. The real world could use a lot more Jon Snows.
Kit, you were great in this interview. Thank you for the candid look back.. I 100 percent had a laugh... I couldn't agree more buddy 👍. See you in olde town
i’ve been watching all these videos and let’s be real here: the whole cast couldn’t have been any better. literal perfection. world class acting from kit harrington, nikolaj coster-waldau, lena headey, peter dinklage, emilia clarke, the list goes on. All these individuals are superstars. (PSA: thank you to everyone except for the directors who ruined the final season)
@@davidanalyst671 Look I agree Season 8 sucked, but I still like Jon even though he bugged the crap out of me in Season 8. I like Kit and I'm excited to see him as Marvel's Black Knight in the Eternals film.
Each of the last day on set scenes in these vids just breaks me. Everyone of them is just beautiful to see how much GoT means to these players and crew.
Game of thrones unites the whole world. The depth of stories, the cosmic philosophy, the general image of humanity etc. I’m so glad and proud to grow up with it for over a decade.
Thank you Kit for your work on the show and for bringing Jon to life with soo much heart and passion! I miss the show and all the wonderful characters on it, as well as the people who made them possible!
I remember watching the documentary and crying along with the actors knowing it was all over. No more Game of Thrones and sleepless long nights... The Avengers and GoT... What a god emotional wreck i was in the end of that decade. Oh, and who the hell didn't fall madly in love with Rose Leslie though? Watching her die in Jon's arm was incredibly heartbreaking!!
My heart goes out to a young man who was given such great opportunity to expand at such a young age.. > Everything after will feel kind of disappointing by comparison. > I feel that way as a viewer - everything afterwards paled by comparison . It’s kind of like being cursed .. come to think of it .. well done - Game of Thrones 👑 Best stories, best film - best series / ever ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
@6:28 As of I didn't get emotional enough over the show Kit crying kills me! Now I truly am in love. 😢💕 I'm SO happy for him and Rose. Sure wish they'd pist baby pics. ❤👍 👍
Sansa was so useless for most the show until the later seasons. She was a dumb pretty princess that just wanted to marry a prince while people were getting killed lol
Go away with that especially on any video about him. Jon is the entire show is ❤️🥰😍❤️ he’s always true to himself and he’s always been the heart of this show
@@aquietsky well your lying or u can’t remember go back and rewatch the show. You just sound like a whiny hater who forgets the entire story and only remember what’s they want. Jon said more than just that💗 there’s nothing wrong with him saying that anyway, loyalty is everything to him and in the end he killed her bc he had to to save everyone. One of my fave quotes he’s ever said is in the last episode. so many of his quotes are my absolute favorite. In the series finale one of my faves is “you think our house words our stamped on our bodies and that’s who we are. Then I’d be fire and blood too” “love is the death of duty” “we need a world of mercy. It has to be” “was it right what I did, it doesn’t feel right” his entire scene with Sam when he finds out the truth amazing dialogue there, when he tells dany “my name my real name is aegon targaryan. It’s true dany I know it is” he was the heart of the last season and the whole show. All his lines are wonderful bc there’s such meaning behind them and an amazing performance which is so moving with everything he says. So to say he only said that isn’t true at all
just watched this again a year later and once again at the end where Kit starts crying it hit me all over again and I start crying. OMG that man! I wish him much happiness and his wife and child! Love him so very much. I still haven't seen any baby pics posted of their child. LOL
I just really hope he’s well and happy and in a good place. One can only imagine the rollercoaster of highs lows and emotions he had to deal with aswell as addiction
