I used to buy hard copies of NFL season previews for 30 years of my life.. Those have basically been replaced in the news stands by fantasy football magazines. TFG's previews are not only a great replacement, but superior in content and the best team by team + player by player analysis in the business.

It’s reported that Tyree has been training with Crosby a ton this offseason, they’ve been basically “attached at the hip”. Really hope Crosby gets him right.. because if Tyree’s able to absorb even just 50% of the technique/work ethic that Crosby has, with his insane athleticism/physical traits he can become an absolute MONSTER.
If you want to be extra positive about Tyree he improves greatly towards the end of the season (NOT a high bar) and he was recovering from foot surgery and getting up to speed for much of the year. Got to see it to believe it, but it’s not crazy to hope for a very productive part of the line rotation
@@gabrielleinweber1763 I’m 100% hyped about Koonce. I fully believe he’s gonna take the next step and establish himself as a premier rusher this SZN. The reason I commented about Tyree is because he has the capability to drop jaws if he wants to. Dude is so physically gifted it’s absurd… Go checkout some recent pics of him, he has a chance to be even better then Maxx, but it all depends on if he’s able to refine his technique/skills. Maxx’s skills + Tyree’s physical traits = The best DE of the last 20 years..
@@maskedman5657 Cardinals are 100% percent better than the Raiders lmao what. Even if Kyler had nothing but bums around him (which he doesn't) they'd be better bc Kyler is that much better than O'Connell and Minshew
Cards offense actually could be great this year. McBride and Connor looked awesome last year, fingers crossed full year of healthy Kyler, and a rookie receiver some have called the greatest WR prospect of all time. I wish my broncos had any of those pieces. Defense will prevent them from being too great though
On the change in oline coaching; apparently a lot of the oline players didn’t like Bricilio which doesn’t really fit with Antonio Pierce’s player motivation style of coaching. He also stood by some of the questionable oline decisions over the season like constantly rotating at RT and keeping Dylan Parham at LG when he’s much better at RG.
@@ThatFranchiseGuy if possible, could you do an interview with EJ Snyder from Bootleg or even Hawks Nest? Would love to see an interview on that deep dive.
It’s one of the few years I’ve had hope in a long time (which is terrifying because it NEVER works out as a Raider fan), but I really love the culture that AP is building. I’m hoping for a year in the right direction to hopefully move towards one day being truly competitive with your team
@@timtalks6080 fire getsy and get a qb cb (i love richardson, hes tyson campbell 2.0) and maybe a rt The rest will take care of itself and the raiders will be FEARED
Im pretty excited for this season even though I know we probably aren’t making the playoffs. Antonio Pierce and surprisingly Telesco has me having hope for this competitive rebuild.
Stop being a self loathing fan, brother. The O line is very solid with depth. Offensive weapons are really good (potentially great), and the defense is building into something really fun. Watch AOC without the stupid narrative people lazily have, and you’ll be happy. Raiders are an easy over bet, and I won’t at all be surprised if they make the playoffs.
Thank you for the deep dive on the Raiders!! Literally one of the hardest working NFL analysts on RU-vid with how detailed this videos are. Much appreciated!
I think it really hurt Tyree Wilson that Chandler Jones had his issues and left the team last year, because Jones was Wilson’s perfect high end comp and it would have been great for Wilson to get mentored up by Jones.
Love your content, brother, but you're drastically underestimating this talented roster and coaching staff. I recommend watching the Raiders vs. Chief's on Christmas 🎄 and Chargers Game when we put up. 63 points.
Do you have more specifics as to the breakdown of how you determined your formula weights? I’m data analytics guy and for the last few years I’ve been hooked on your approach to quantifying these rankings. Would this be something on the patreon?
It's really just been a building process throughout the years that I have gotten some feedback from industry people over time. I don't have any specific content regarding it available.
Yeah that 2 tight end set is going to be nasty. So many options and you always make the defense wrong no matter what. As soon as they send their personelle grouping in they are wrong. If the send in heavies, bowers goes out wide and you spread those big guys out. If they send in DBs, brock is your fullback and you run it down their throat... It cant be overstated enough how valuable mayer is. In order for what i described just now to work you need a true number one WR and a true inline tight end that can do it all, including the dirty work. I love the way this team is built. It would open things up a lot more if he had better arm talent, but i could see a smart game manager QB thrive in this system.
Thank you so much for the vids TFG, I’ve learned so much from your content! I aspire to be an NFL GM one day and you’ve increased my knowledge of the NFL game exponentially! God bless bro!
Our D line will be higher than this IMO. Koonce is about to pick up where he left off.. he has it together. I also think Wilkins is a way better pash rusher than his ranking here. Moehrig is also about to break out this season, he played very well last year.
Could we possibly see the return of the graphic that shows all the teams in the future? and where you have them ranked, as well as how much they either went up or went down compared to last year. Love the content man, keep it up, it's so fun to watch!
@@ThatFranchiseGuyif you look in last years videos, it would be right at the beginning and they were called the deep dive power rankings. I believe you do them now, just not how much they went up or down in your rankings since last year. Anyways, just a thought. Really love the videos though man, keep up the great content!
K1 Marvin Harrison will be a top 20 wr, Trey Benson is gonna be a top 10 RB this year, the o line investments ^. The dline improved a good deal. CBS and lbs not downgraded to much. This will be a solid or even good team
As a skins fan I would have loved signing minshew to be our backup. If Jayden Daniels gets hurt for one game maybe you could come up with a REALLY good game plan for Mariota and possibly get the win if it's against a garbage team. If Jayden is out for an extended period there is nothing that can be done and there will be a flat out losing streak. With minshew, no matter how many games it is, or how good the opponent is, he gives you the chance to win each and everyone of those games. Not a punchers chance, a good chance. Everyone else has to be on top of their game, coaches+players, but if they are and a good plan is drawn up, he will manage it well.
Really surprised He had Trevon Moehrig As just an Adequate starter tier, Last Year he was listed as a good starter, And he was even better then he was in 2023 then in 2022 so i find that a bit strange
I never anticipated Tyree to be a high impact player in year one. So I'm not really worried about him at all. Now is the time to show improvement and flashes of why he was picked that high.
Yep regardless if you were or weren't high on him coming out, it was universally agreed upon that he was a raw prospect who would take time to develop. Then when you also consider that he missed basically the entirety of his first NFL training camp due to injury, there's just no way you should've expected him to be great in year one.
@@ThatFranchiseGuy Graham mentioned in a press conference that he likes sliding ends inside to work on hand fighting and placement because it’s much faster in those close quarters and contributes to shorting the learning curve.
What in the world do we do with guys like Gardner Minshew and Jacoby Brissett, who are good enough to win a few games but not to elevate the team to achieve anything? I guess they make valuable mentors/bridge QBs, but there are scenarios in which it would be more valuable to have a QB who is genuinely bad and a decent team around him. It's just odd to me that this is Minshew's 6th season and he'll conceivably be starting for his 4th team. (Yes, I know Baker Mayfield did the same thing last year. He's better and was drafted higher.)
I hope. Getsy gets some advice from LeFleur, McVay, or Shanahan. Like AP got advice from his mentor. I think. That is the only way. He is going to exceed.
@@Luckyludogrespect for the Saints ranking (even though you and I are both fans). Other fanbases just think that we're going to be a bottom 5 team this year
Cardinals being this high up with pretty much all no names on defense outside of their safety is pretty crazy. You must really like their offense and coaching.
Was just wondering if the Raiders were gonna get a good grade this year lol. At least the team isn’t done, given our cap space. I definitely think we’re going to spend on a corner in FA (I’m partial to Adoree Jackson cause of Patrick Graham connections), and I also think we’ll extend a lot of guys, especially our starting linebackers. Hopefully the defense continues to improve like it did the end of last season, and I’m praying Minshew is able to shine with the pieces around him, also that the Bears offense was Justin Fields’ fault, cause if not we’re in big trouble 😭
Fields was the issue. Now Getsy gets one more chance to prove himself. Devontae is excited, that’s a good sign. And AOC will start and be comfortably a top 20 in QBR. I don’t think top 15 is out of the question
How tf do you Bears fans remain so delusional? In week 5 the Bears ordered Fields to Not Throw To Certain Receivers on Certain Plays. Anyone watching that game thought he must have been concussed he stopped himself mid-wind-up so unnaturally. Stupidly, Eberflus has boasted about meddling in the offense so much that media stopped speaking to Getsy at all. Even more stupidly, he gave away that these play-calls were his because even more stupidly, he tried to shut them up by angrily waving his arm in a chop-motion like he was their Dad. Media wanted to know why they didn't take Fields into the blue tent. But since the Bears didn't take him into the blue tent it was obvious they _knew_ he was not concussed but executing the plays As Called. _Then_ Fields called them out after week 7. Am I seriously the only one who remembers what happened next? Fearing exposure, Eberflus allowed Getsy to run the offense without or at least with less interference. & Fields made the pre-D. J. Moore *Bears* the #1 offense in the NFL 3 weeks straight. So the _good plays_ that made the Bears #1 were Getsy's. If that coincidental timing didn't make it clear, the 2nd offensive good streak in '23 that came on the heels of acquiring a new DC should have. You guys were One Play Away from sweeping the _Lions!_ If the good plays were Eberflus', he could have overridden Getsy at Any Time if he knew how to run them. But he didn't. Instead, *Eberflus reinstated* the failed plays you're all blaming Getsy for. Enjoy your at best 4th-rounder. You had a QB who could make a team whose #1 receiver either blocked himself & one other receiver from being open (12 minutes into ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0nd2Ac1haEQ.html) or deflected passes that hit him in the hands into the hands of players on opposing teams ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-glpaya0xz-4.html & whose #2 WR was chase Claypool better than Allen/Diggs, Tur/Hill/Waddle or Burrow/élite WR *trio* & chased him out of town!
Aidan O´Connell is a .450 QB without needing to give excuses for an entire season that "should not count". O´Connell is entering his second year, had to go through a coaching change in his first year and still did a good job. Put some respect on his name please!!!
"Indeterminate." The _VAST majority of people feel_ a childish need to say Yes or No now, like a 4-year-old before knowing a thing. There was nothing in his rookie year indicating he was going to be élite, nor was there any indication he would be a bust. But as for Marcus' assertion that Minshew "will be" the starter, I don't see how. If you're the Raiders & Minshew is your starter, you HAVE TO draft a QB next season. If AOC _can be_ a franchise QB you need to know that _before_ wasting a draft pick to replace him. So Minshew is the question mark here sorta. You don't need him unless your starter is injured & you need a spot-starter *on a team with playoff hopes.* He doesn't fit here except that who is their next-best back-up? Oh, right. He may be needed.
VERY different play styles and movement skills. Even if they are listed a similar size. Bowers is much more compact and explosive whereas Evans is longer with better ball skills.
From what I'm hearing and seeing as a Raiders fan, Gardner Minshew is not going to be the starting qb. This is Aidan O'Connells' team, which I think makes sense because he fits the offense better.

I don’t think this team is better than the chargers initially, but I understand that the chargers will likely have some top talent injured and I think the raiders are much better equipped for the grind that comes with a season
I think it’s the other way around. I think the Raiders are definitely better initially, and the Chargers have to potential to be better down the season. The injuries are a good point, but the Chargers are relying heavily on their draft class which are likely not gonna be at their top form their first season let alone to start the season. Additionally, you have to factor in that the Chargers have basically an entire new coaching staff so even established vets will experience a learning curve. In comparison, the Raiders maintained relatively the same coaching staff defensively, and kept some of their offensive coaches.
@@donbebe6092 I don’t know, I’m pretty low on the raiders. I don’t think the play calling is gonna mesh with the quarterback situation for a while. And then when anything happens to any player on the chargers, it’s gonna be last year all over again
@@Michael-be6ov Depends on what you mean by low. I’m not high on them, but I think they can put together 8-9 wins and potentially compete for a wildcard spot (not saying they will). In regard to QB play, the Raiders went 5-4 with Aidan O’Connell at QB under Antonio Pierce. And in that time they had a QB coach with no play calling experience acting as OC. Even if you are really low on Getsy, he’s still an upgrade just off experience alone. Schematically Aidan O’Connell is also just a good fit for Getsy’s offense. Overall, it’s not even necessarily that I’m high on the Raiders, I’m just low on the Chargers. I feel that they’re being overhyped, which tbh is a common occurrence every offseason for whatever reason. They have too many holes that they are hoping will be filled by unproven players. Honestly would be a bottom 5 roster in the NFL save for a few players. Corner room is arguably just as bad as the Raiders if not worse, their best LB is Junior Colson who is a 3rd round rookie, their feature back is Gus Edwards who has primarily been a rotational guy, and their weapons are incredibly lackluster. They are heavily relying on QTJ taking a big step forward and Ladd McConkey filling that WR1 role right away. Just unrealistic to think they’ll start off better than the Raiders especially when considering the new coaching staff as well.
Doesn't make sense to me... 1. The Raiders have said that O'Connell is the starter. 2. 90% of Raiders fans think that O'Connell is the starter. 3. Adams has endorsed O'Connell as the starter. 3. Pretty much everyone else thinks Minshew will be the starter - why ?!? Yes, everything you said about Minshew is spot on - he gives us a great QB2 floor... but O'Connell's far higher arm talent (mid-level strength, but elite accuracy), and upside going into year 2, makes him the clear choice. It's not impossible that he has Cousins level starter potential, and if he does then all this "Raiders just need a QB" talk will quickly seem rather silly.
I won't write my usual thesis... just to note that you're only about 5-10 spots too low this year, rather than the 10-15 spots from previous years. This is most likely a 9-8 / 8-9 team - the defense (particularly the DL) is just too good for this not to be a mid-tier team, and if AOC makes a 2nd year leap (and if Getsy's offense really works) then this could easily be a 10 or 11 win team. Also... Bricillo wasn't as good as you think he was, and no way should "done nothing" Chris Smith be rated higher than Pola-Mao, who is a legit rotational player - most of the roster predictions I've seen have Smith not making the 53.
Cody White hair was playing like one of the top centers in the league a couple years ago. He obviously didn't continue that trend but apparently the talent is there

OC got Adam's in to his groove in G.B. and had the come back player of year in another wide receiver. Mumford jr. Was the 23rd ranked tackle and was a top 10 run blocking grade. The safty that guy is always around the the ball on pass plays . I seen the ball bounce off him more than any other player in a couple years .
Home Chargers crowd in LA week 1?!? What are you on about? Raider Nation will fill most of that stadium like always! I'll be betting the over as usual (big winner in 4 out the last 5 years) - for me, there's a reasonable chance we go to the Rams in week 7 with a 5-1 record, only having lost to the Ravens... but even that's a winnable game with our run defense.

@@maskedman5657 his arm is good, and very accurate. Play making ain’t his thing, but Marcus just kind of made up ‘lack of pocket awareness’ thing as a short cut to bolster his narrative. He was severely hamstrung by dysfunction in the coaching staff yet steadily progressed regardless.
The whole world is sleeping on AOC and the Raiders in #2024. AOC was second in rookie qb stats only to CJ Stroud. Kid wasn't getting any 1st team reps until McDaniels was fired. I firmly believe that AOC with our offensive firepower and elite defense can make a playoff run.
From what I've heard, Getsy's offense doesn't really have a short game - he likes to run the ball and throw deep. We could see Scott Turner (pass game coordinator) having significant input in that area.
Aidan is the starter not Gardner. Pretty much every report I've seen is that the team surrounding him believes he's the guy. I get it I know you've been lower on Aidan for a while and in fairness I've yet to watch this but I saw a comment had Gardner ranked as the Raiders qb and I just felt the need to give insight. @@ThatFranchiseGuy is he a top 15 qb? Absolutely not. Will he reach top 20 by the end of the year? It's entirely possible to be 19th. Can you win with what will potentially be a top 10 defense whilst surrounded by a plethora of talent? Seen Brock Purdy do it. Not saying Aidan is Brock Purdy I'm just not convinced Brock could do it the same way if he was on the Cardinals. Aidan has to be just good enough and they'll get the job done imo. Which is making the playoffs. Just play pg.
@@liambooth5377the Brock Purdy comparison with AOC is borderline disrespectful. AOC would have been mauled behind the pass protection Purdy had last year (bottom 6 in the league). Terrible comparison.
I don’t think Raider fans are unrealistic about Aidan at all. He’s tall, pocket passer with more than adequate arm strength and GREAT accuracy who greatly improved throughout the season dispute not getting ANY practice reps the 1st half of the season and then having his coach/coordinator fired mid season I do love the series/ channel, but @thatfranchiseguy it seems like this is a lazy take based on popular narrative.
@@liambooth5377he’s probably not a top 15 guy after half a season and 3 coordinators… I’ll grant you. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he develops into a top 15 guy w a ‘clutch gene’ within 3 years or less.
The thinking with Parham is that his footwork is much better at Right Guard as opposed to left, according to new OL coach James Cregg. Brett and EJ from Bootleg mentioned this when they drafted him a couple years ago but the old staff was stubbornly making him stick at left.
