Made a hooded sweater for grandsons with Crafter's secret. It wasn't too rough softened up with wash. Could not see spending bucks on a sweater the kid would out grow in one season. I also had a coupon and so it was about $6.49 for the giant skein!

Catching up on my Cinnamon girl! 😁 I love these videos. This one in particular because I rarely buy from Hobby Lobby. When I AM in the store, I never know which to buy. The Yarn ID sounds like it will also have a nicer drape when it's worked up into a project. Acrylic yarns can be so sketchy, you never know how well it will wear. Luv ya! 😘

Love the variegated’I Love This Yarn’. I got that Christmas yarn on clearance one year at HL. Currently I’m eating up a lot of my stash by making twisted granny sweaters! I’m so loving this easy pattern! Hey, wait! .50! For Fat Quarters, I need so much because I’m getting ready to start making purses, and I use them for the lining.

We have Hobbycraft here in England and when I saw ALL yarn was 3 for 2 I jumped at it. I want to make a cardigan for myself so I got the James C. Brett Marble chunky. I wish we had Hobby Lobby but since we don't, I load up when I visit my daughter and ship it back.

I used I Love This Yarn for the first time just this week. I made a Red Riding Hood cape for my granddaughter. I started making it with Super Saver and didn't like how rough it was so I went to Hobby Lobby and grabbed some ILTY. Well, I can see why it is named that. I love it and the cape is much softer. I also lucked out in getting some clearance yarn.

The crafters secret is the bomb if you are making blankets or throws especially if you catch it on the 30 per cent off.

I went to the Hobby Lobby a week ago and got the Christmas yarn with sparkles that you purchased! I am making a pom-pom wreath with it . They have SO MANY varieties of yarn in so many colors. I almost purchased their Sugarwheel Cotton Sparkle that they had and I will probably do that at a later date. I am really pleased with how the Hobby Lobby yarn works up and for $4.99 a skein it is a steal. I also got the 30% off of that. I also purchased a hot glue gun and extra glue sticks that were 25% off, some Christmas bells to attach to the wreath that were 50% off, a styrofoam wreath that was 16", 2 rolls of ribbon (one in gold and one in rose gold) that were 50% off and a couple of faux fur pom-poms for some hats that I am making. The pom-poms are huge and for $2.99 each with 30% off I just couldn't pass up, plus they had the exact size I wanted which was 6 inches. So for 6 skeins of the metallic Christmas yarn, the 6 jingle bells, my total order was less than $50 and that included tax. Also love my Furls Odyssey hooks as well.

I just have to comment. I have seen that shawl in many of you videos and heard you say how nice the yarn is, but when you pulled it close in this video made me think “Wow, that’s beautiful!” That was the first close look I have gotten of it and I am even more impressed with it now. Great job!

I made a baby blanket using I Love This Yarn and Big Twist Value. ILTY is definitely softer. I really enjoyed using it. They are about the same thickness. I’m also making a top using YB Soft N Sleek, low-pill fiber, 3-weight. It’s a dream to use!

Lucky me to have found your video, I'm headed to HL in about 30 minutes - anxious to do some touchy feely stuff. Also, that Furls hook is beautiful! I have my first one ordered and it's taking forever to get! 😡 They were sold out for months, then restocked Jan 30, I set my alarm and jumped on the website and snagged the one I wanted. One hour later they were all sold out again!!!! What a way to do business 🤔. Great video!! Thanks for all that info. 🙂

Great content. Makes me realize I basically choose yarn by COLOR, LOL. I also have a friend in the Hobby Lobby yarn dept and you have to watch the skeins you buy because they take yarn back and even if there is major yarn barf, they restock it!

I just used the Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek yarn and I thought it almost had a little bit of cotton feel to it. It worked up nice but not very soft. Thanks for all you do Jennifer!! ❤🧶🌵

I'm currently working on two afghans. One with I Love This Yarn & the other with Big Twist. I think I Love this Yarn is more soft & squishy than Big Twist. Like you, I buy it when its' on sale.

Hobby Lobby is my go-to yarn store because of selection, quality and price. I buy Mandala cakes at Joann’s and WalMart.

Jennifer, I noticed with the I Love This Yarn skeins, the striped yarns are thinner and less squishy than the I Love This Yarn solids-also, I think color affects the thickness. I really appreciate your comparisons, and next time I go to Hobby Lobby I’m going to look for the yarn in the plane wrapper. 😂😂

I made a blanket for my friend out of I Love This Yarn...it is great yarn.

It is interesting even tho we don’t have hobby lobby here in Toronto. But we are always behind for stuff in general. We lack variety in imported goods. I loved living in the USA because I loved the people generally and so many things to purchase that we don’t have in Canada.

Jen! I noticed you Deep Sigh ILTY has *print* on the label. This is a self patterning yarn! My DIL bought me a box for Xmas and I have had so much fun making hats with it! It really helps with my anxiety (I am being treated for cancer)....no looking at a pattern or worrying about color work! I just get lost in the repetition and watch the magic happen!!! I told my husband I don't want to use any other yarn right now but self patterning 🥰

I find myself shopping at hobby lobby alot, just in the past 2 years I have ordered on line. I have never used the ID, I'm gonna scope it out next time I'm there, I use the stiffer yearns for baskets, thank you for tutorial

Not sure how often you shop Hobby Lobby. But, they place their orders once a week. I know that the store that I worked at, they get together and restock the shelves and walls. 😊❤️

In the uk we have hobbycraft which I think is a branch of hobby lobby but I'm not sure .... I've had a few skains of yarn from them and there cotton yarn is nice to work with... our supermarkets do not have any yarn in them ... you are so lucky to have this in the usa.... xxx

I also love these yarn comparisons even though I cannot buy the yarn. I have noticed the same with different brands about the thickness within the same yarn weight. I had several Aldi cakes that were labelled as 4 weight but when I took a snip to my local stores to find a substitute they all determined it as 5 weight. Meanwhile, I made a shawl out of Cascade yarn and thinking I cannot get more of the same to complete the pattern, I thought of substituting the same with Caron cake of the same weight and fiber content: Cascade yarn was clearly thinner. Mr. Cinnamon is right though: the skein IS pretty like you! And you had an excuse to test something you haven't tried before.

Great review. I understood what you were trying to say about the soft and sleek and the cake. I'm currently working with a cake and some of the colors are so soft and squishy and in the same cake another color has a dryer feel, very strange. I've tried all but the Yarn ID def will check it out next time I go to HL.

Yup hobby lobby isn't available in Canada, but I love how you give consideration to the feel so people who can't get it can get something with similar. Fibre content and feel etc..I'm learning alot. Thank you miss Jennifer

Walmart anti-pill yarn is a big surprise I made a twin bedspread for about $50 and it is great wash and stitch definition

I recently went to my Hobby Lobby to buy more velvet yarn and found out they only receive 6 skeins of yarn to restock! Wow! So I asked what if I need more than 6? Because I need 20! She informed me that I would need to do a rain check at register that way the manager could do an override so that much could be ordered. For a craft store that really surprised me. Only 6 skeins at a time to restock. Just doesn't seem right. Most of my projects need more than 6 skeins! I use a lot of the soft and sleek low pill yarn and really like it. I've made several tops for my granddaughters out of it. But I made one of them a sweater out of the soft and sleek low pill with sparkle strand and I will say I will never use sparkle yarn again! Every single stitch caught on my hook! I was crocheting fairly loose because I figured it would catch but it made no difference.
