Although I would never purchase this coach even if I had stacks of disposable cash, I can still appreciate variety of all walks of life and the craftsmanship that went into this motorhome. It really is beautiful.
Great video Chris. I think it’s sad to see so many negative comments. Everybody has different tastes and everybody has different budgets. Just as I can appreciate the imagination and workmanship that goes into a Skooly conversion, i’d hope that people can at least appreciate the workmanship and technology that went into this Marathon converted Prevost
YEAH CHRIS AN TELLEM HOW YA PUT CHEEP MATERIAL IN IT THAT LOIKS EXPENSIVE , BUT WILL BREAK .LEATHER THAT TEARS EASY WOW YA TAKING A 850.000 DOLLAR BUS AN SELLING IT FOR 2.5 MILLION ( AGAIN WOW ) HECKOFAPROFIT(CON - ARTIST) !!!!! YEA , LETS ALL RUN DOWN TO CHRIS , HE.S THE ONLY ONE WE.LL LET RIP US OFF !!!! WOW (SMH) !!!!!
That motorcoach is electronically amazing. Has a great comfort and awesome facilities. I love the beautiful wall decorations. Very unique and classy. Stunning amenities.
Hey guys & gals - this is how Chris makes a paycheck. Just because it isn't your idea of a "tiny home" doesn't mean it isn't a valid option for someone. $2.5 million for a tiny home vs $10 million for a 12 bedroom, 13 bathroom mansion - it's frugal for someone who has the bank account for it. They need a garage for the convertible car to pop out. Watch Extreme RV's show sometime and you see amazing luxury coaches. Nice detailed tour. ❤
Interesting video Chris. Makes me more positive than ever that I'm a skoolie kind of person. Even if I had the millions to buy it, this coach would not be my desire. I see 100 electrical and automated items that will eventually not work anymore. But I can take a few ideas from the tour that do appeal and incorporate those like the wine cooler and liberal use of tile.
Lots of tile definitely looks great - but what you are seeing here is *not* what is actually there, not what you think it is. Tile and stone used in vehicles (including planes and yachts) is specially built, not what you buy at a local Home Depot or tile store. It is thin veneer on an ultralight aluminum honeycomb backing so you get the look but without the weight. You couldn't possibly do regular tile or stone on this scale otherwise because of the weight. Personally, I dream of one of those steam ovens!
@@wendyannh Actually, the real stone tile Marathon uses is .5 - .75 inch thick. They cut it to size/shape there in the plant. No backing. They offer tours of the factory every day at 11:30, and anyone can see for themselves. I live nearby, and have taken the tour several times.
Przy ognisku przy ognisku , tak siedzimy tutaj wszyscy , Gina troski I zmartwienia bo ognisko ludzi zmienia ( the warm atmosphere is makeing people for the better ).
There are a handful of posh perks that would be nice, but honestly, give me a recycled schoolie with some soul any day. ✌🏼💚 This thing is cold, lifeless... the exact opposite of anything I look for in a bus. Plus, even though it's fancy, 2.5 mil? Really? Some people amaze me...
Nice to see how the other half lives, I see a lot of race car drivers with motor homes like these. I still prefer the charm and entirely unique character of the hand built tiny home trailers and skoolies though.
Thanks so much for your comment. I was wondering what type of person would pay such a high price tag for this RV. I never wouldve guessed race car drivers but it makes sense
You can turn on, off or dim any of the lights. They use the laminate on the cabinets so that it can be matched perfectly in the future if it gets damaged. The shell of this coach is almost 800k without anything, no paint, no interior walls, nothing, and everything is custom built for this coach the furniture, cabinetry and paint scheme. it is built to be a 1,000,000 mile + coach, you won't get that out of any other coach. It is a commercial chassis and drivetrain. You get what you pay for. Choose wisely. It isn't for the average buyer, and isn't meant to be. Think of this a buying a private jet, not a Cessna 172.
I've seen $200,000 homes with all the appointments and features to match, maybe save for the carved wood piece. I didn't realize the labor costs of American workers were that high ($2,300,000). For $2,500,000 I expect nothing less than the finest solid hardwoods and gold touches plus bulletproof windows and armor plating in the walls. I think this is a hard ask at $2,500,000. If you told me this motorhome was $200,000 I would say okay, that sounds about right from what I see on the inside. At $2,500,000, it doesn't seem like a good allocation of money.
The last I saw one of these, they were going for around $850,000, and I thought that was already too high. I'm a high end interior designer, and while I could certainly run the bill up to this and much higher quite easily, I could also do a *far* better job for a lot less in a space this small - and *truly* customized.
Don’t know where you’d find a $200k house built with similar materials and craftsmanship. The Prevost bare chassis, built in Canada, that they use costs ~ $800k.
I would need someone to drive and operate everything for me. Let’s just say.....like a Butler, and where would his quarters be? Because there’s no way I’m chauffeuring myself around in a $2.5 million dollar house on wheels.
For 2.5 million I expected a state of the art Coach with fine wood not laminate, modern design. Energy ambiance efficient windows, solar panels, titanium aluminum, stone counters etc etc. I have seen on RU-vidvstate of the art RVs for a fraction of that price. It is an expensive living place to watch TV because that was one of the "best" features showed.
Actually, some of the very finest finishes on some of the finest furniture ever made *are* laminates - which doesn't necessarily mean plastic. "Laminate" only means a veneer finish that is adhered to a sandwich backing by high pressure, both of which are made from all sorts of things. Most fine cabinetry today (and a surprising amount of top quality furniture) is made of laminates, in no small part because they are far more dimensionally stable than solid wood. Price and quality differs according to the thickness of the various plies, what they are made of, how many there are, how they are adhered together, etc. Dimensional stability is important in a house, but absolutely *critical* in a vehicle like this. This cabinetry is fine wood laminate with a very high polish, probably multiple coats of some sort of polyurethane; I don't know what it's laminated onto, although the highest quality residential cabinetry uses 5-7 layers of high grade plywood with wood veneer on both faces. It ain't Formica, though, or any other kind of plastic laminate, I'll tell you that for sure!
It looks fancy! I could see people who aren’t into the usual tiny houses personal vibe would for go for it... not sure it would be good as a on the move home though. Dang expensive though!
For 2.5 mil you could go around the world probably more than 10 times. Why any one want to do all that driving? 1. Gasoline, how much per mile? 2. These coaches have to stay on big highways, so you are viewing concrete all day and shopping malls, corporate parks, etc. 3. How can you relax with all that driving? 4. Relax? Someone has to cook, clean, do laundry, don't see any maids quarters, do you? 5. Hundreds of dollars just to have the road grime washed off! 6. Where do you park at night, not every town can accomodate these? 7. What about the constant road vibration and engine noise and shut up in a vehicle with all 5G radiating your brain and lack of walking and stretching? 8. And how boring to be in one of these nearly 24 hours a day with nothing but the TV, and trash TV at that, and how many movies can you watch per day? You could pay someone in a limosine to drive you all over the USA, stay in fine hotels, meals with a chef, someone clean your clothes, spas, massages, etc. for less than 2.5 million dollars. Traveling in one of those seems rather boring, caged, and dumb. Jealous, no, my very wealthy brother-in-law had one and his wife, the mother of his 3 sons HATED it. No vacation for her.
Ick!! Why is the “decor” (I use the term loosely!) of so many RVs brown?? 🤮 Pls, move on from that 80s look, people! Besides, it makes the interior so dark.
Great video Chris!! On this Coach the decorations aren't my taste. With that said its still a super nice Coach. The great thing is that if something like this is in your price range you can order anything and everything to your precise taste and Prevost will try to build it for you.
There is a RV company that put the 8K TV'S into the WINDOW and you can reverse it to see it outside on the same window in both LIVING ROOM & BEDROOMS. I thought that was a super crazy cool idea. Never heard of that before.
I once saw one of these motor homes cracked open, contents spewed and laying on its side in a field. Looks like all the accident was was that someone lost control and went off road and hit a sizable ditch or rock and BAM! That’s 2.5 million dollars gone, that easy. I guess if you have that sort of money it’s not a big deal. But if this was your home home... all your precious belongings gone as well.
When compared to older Prevost coaches and most other Class A coahces, it is modern. Older Prevost busses tend to be very custom which lends itself to a decor that doesn’t age well. When compared to other manufacturers’s large class A coaches, this is one of the best coaches with regard to craftsmanship, finishes, and features; these last forever. Having said that, they can easily look like a Vegas casino rolling down the road. 😉
I could buy a mansion in hawaii, new york city and just for the fk of it, florida on the beach and still have money left over...the last thing id ever spend 2.5 mil on is a mobile home.
Ummmm...he did, it was that big black square thing. It would of been cool if he at least turned it on. I'm sure since it was electric, he only had to push a button or have Alexa do it.
I prey for new windows on my house that I cant afford. Well I can do one thing for now and that is, Pray for all of you to be safe and no more covid19. Anyway you all have a Merry Christmas and Peace to all of you. Someday I hope to get a used one and Thumbs Up on your video.
Chris you always do beautiful tour videos. For 2.5 million, I'd expect real luxury not engineered leather and lament. The manufacture need to step up their game and stop using cheap materials. New designers are definitely needed, the old 1980's brown is hideous, too many lights. This is just a no from me. I'd expect the price of this to be in the 200,000 to 250,000 range, max.
The best looking coaches were made before 2016, since then they seem to look like a casino or strip club. I pissed off the Newell guy when I asked where the stripper pole was as it reminded me of a strip club with the colors and lighting. Give me real wood not some laminate and neon lights along with pattern leather. Best coaches are made by Liberty
Made for 5th Ave in New York city if you can find a place to park it. Not recommended for muddy campgrounds in Wisconsin. Could ask what the turning radius is and do you need to know how to parallel park it to get a license?
I drive a 40 foot transit school bus, and even I don't think I can handle the turning radius in this bus. Plus, these bottom out EASILY! They're hard to drive.
In a RV at this $2 million price tag I was expecting those Shelves to be lit up with Led lights they could have installed Small lights on the walls on each shelf so you can see what's in there without pulling the drawers all the way out.
Question Mal why do they not slide out the kitchens in the marathon and create all that space would be so much better I see others doing that and I just wanted to know what the reason was
@@timothykalio157So you know for fact that nothing ever fails? No electronics has ever failed? No computer has ever failed? No refrigerators have failed? No stoves? No lights? No mechanical anything has ever failed on an RV? How many slide outs have not failed? How many levelers or stabilizers have not failed?
It has a bath and a 1/2. You've only got so much space to work with. Marathon is well qualified to add a 2nd full bath but you'd have to sacrifice the lost room elsewhere -- like less storage, smaller footprint furniture, perhaps even a smaller bed. Remember, you're dealing with less than 300 square feet. Do you still want the 2nd full bath, or less storage space, a smaller bed, etc. You can't have it all!!
Yes its very beautiful but is it practical for a family of 4 to go camping or is it Glamping in the national parks. What about the gas mileage? For 2.5 million does it come with a tour guide to drive the bus? Hey if its bought by a Rock Star where does his crew sleep or smoke /do drugs. This is not for the "average" person. But I bet the person who sleeps in the RV gets plenty of sleep and feels clean too. I could actually buy a lot of tiny homes and some land with the 2.5 million. However if I did have 2.5 tax free I would buy some beachfront property in Australia or Hawaii.
That is almost as nice as a homebuiilt schoolie with less fresh water capacity. 1302 Coach could be used for fulltime, but will only be used for part-time camping with full hook-ups.
Erm! Has anyone else got reservations about a glass shower door? No privacy from anyone passing through hallway? And what door is on toiket/wet room? He can talk and talk about lots of little specs but didn't seem to dwell on the big aspects of the RV.
There are alway too many lights and shiny surfaces for my taste. I’d take half a quarter even of what you pay for this and convert a bus with space for my sewing machine, a cat and a couple of recliners!
I know, right?? The real thing wears far better, looks a million times better - and is just not that much more expensive, especially when already talking 7 figures.
2.5m and it comes with a blue ray player that you have to get up and change. For that price I would expect a high end media server for the entire coach.
A double decker bus with multiple bedrooms would of been more like it with at least 2 showers. They could of gave each room a compost toilet on the second floor.
I know this video is several months old but I'm still hoping someone will answer this: what is that strange looking silver thing on the kitchen counter just before you get the that carved wall thingy that hides all of the over the top appliances? Is it just a decoration? I have to say that I will never ever be rich but even if I were I wouldn't want this. I would rather have a schoolie with an amazing huge bed in the back that screams comfort and a living room that makes people want to hang out and enjoy each other's company. This is too over the top for me but to each his own I reckon 😌
Lots of comments from the Mac and cheese dinner crowd. Yes this is expensive. If you don’t like it, move on. Don’t criticize those who have worked hard and would like to use some of their success. The presentation was very professional and on point the whole time. Keep this fella doing the displays and narration.
what the crap is wrong with eating mac and cheese?!!!! you must be implying that to the poor people, or the people who do have that kind of money but can see right through this overpriced crap. dont give people crap about criticizing when the vast majority of us know that salesmen are the snake oil salesman from the beginning to the end and if they can be professional salesman, then i can be a professional smart buyer and give my thoughts on it to.... be wiser than serpents :) thats my take on it. and dont give me that crap about... (people got different taste) well, ill stick with the mac and cheese because i can eat that , nobody can eat the RV no matter what the cost is, that idea of thinking fits right in for those who compromise away their wealth for something stupid that they dont need. yay!!!!!!!!! bend over for a marathon!!!!!!! how fitting........
Thats why they should never get them in the videos, cuz they smell like bullshit, just like some random salesman coming at your door to sell you some cleaning products and what not.
I could unscrew a few bulbs and hang a sheet over the ceiling to cover up the mirror. So anything is possible,. Wanna contact that bus driver for me to let him know I'd take it off his hands! For free of course.😁😁😁😁😁
What is the resale value of one of these after 5 years? A multi millionaire will buy a new one, a small millionaire won't spend his money on a depreciating investment.
This is gorgeous! I just wanted to ask what the qualifications are for having a tiny home or a tiny living room. I did a video of my tiny living room and I’d love for you to come to ny and visit my tiny room. The video is on my RU-vid
I really can't imagine rich people going camping or even driving anywhere when flying and hotels are quicker, where are they going to park that...KOA...I don't think so!
It's got a lot of great, well thought-out features, and the build quality is clearly superior (I'm impressed with the level of veneer matching on the cabinetry, to be honest, and the overall fit and finish), but OMG, is the decor crass overall! That crassness starts with those awful recliners in the front - which are among the least expensive made, and *massively* mass-produced, with some of the least expensive leathers on the market. And that overhead lighting - gag me! It's very glitzy and glamorous, to be sure, and very pretty to look at - for about 5 minutes - but it won't live well over time, especially that overhead lighting. No one wants to live in a casino - at least no one with any actual taste. And why on earth does every motorhome and trailer built have the same monotonous brown or grey tones? It's been done to death!
I hate to tell you this, but Marathon buys RV-type recliners, strips them down to the frame, and then rebuilds them there in the plant, by hand. They use top-end leather, domestic and imported. To answer another poster, Marathon does not use particleboard or plastic. All wood is either solid or lightweight plywood or bamboo. These coaches retain value very well. Ten year old coaches still sell for 3/4 million. This particular coach sold only a few hours after it went on sale. I see many RV's with bright, colorful paint schemes, including Marathon. For examples, look at their 1304, 1290, 1258, 1241 and 1230. Everyones taste is different. No, I don't work for Marathon. I live nearby and have toured the factory. They offers tours every work day at 11:30, and the entire process is on display for all comers to see. No behind-the-scenes secrets. All the workers seem happy to talk to any and all.
