Watch Mauricio's powerful sharing of his experience through Germany's Justice System and how he has transformed his life.
Mauricio grew up in Colombia in the '70s but moved to the US shortly afterward. At 29 years old, he was arrested in Germany and sentenced to eleven years. After serving five and a half years in a German prison, he was deported and sent back to the US.
During his time in prison, Mauricio had a spiritual awakening. He discovered an inner peace and a divine presence that transcended the walls that held me captive. However, the spiritual awakening quickly faded shortly after his release, when he entered into a life of addiction. At the age of 41, Mauricio got sober and has maintained sobriety for the last fourteen years
Mauricio is now dedicated to using the tools that gave him a second chance at life to be a source of positivity and strength for others ❤️

“My dad had been imprisoned. My uncle…we’re Columbians-there’s a lot of that.” 😂 I’m definitely stealing this line. Humor is the best form of medicine, at least according to Readers Digest
